I think I'll stick with the original. Pricier but waaay more models and bit options. (Really great capes)

Edit: Is the new starter book different though? That might be worth getting it for.

You can tell from the photos it must be 2x4 assuming of course they are to scale.

The photos on the store page include 2h weapons for the liberators and blood reavers, is that a mistake? Surely they're just the monopose ones from the current starter

80 as opposed to 125 and the only figures that you lose are khul, hammerhand and the bloodescrator?
that seems like a pretty decent deal to me.

good call on the two handed weapons. looking at the sprues they look like they are straight out of the starter and i dont see the two handed weapons on there.
just a case of sharing pictures with the other kits i suppose but i know i wouldnt be too happy if i got it expecting the two handed weapons.

He closed his eyes, wishing that he stood once more amid the bulwarks of ironoak and thornwood. He could still recall the warm scent of the sunfire blossoms as they stirred in Alarielle’s wake, that final day at the Twelve-Thorn Gate. He could feel the deep, basso war-chant of the duardin root-kings resonating through him, as they marched to war.

Makes me wonder if we will get minis for them. (Source: plague garden).

Didn't the original starter include a few stormcasts with double handed hammers ?

About the new starter, i suppose that by the time you are buying the missing heroes, than you might as well buy the original box, but for someone who already has the original box, this new one might make a very nice extention giving you no duplicate of the unique heroes, plus the "terrain"

yes, and those are in there. the double handed weapons that are in question are in the liberator and blood reaver units.
those are only in the multi part box and not the starter sprues that are in this box.

The double handed hammer guys and the flying dual hammer guys from the original starter are both included in the recent skirmish box for stormcast, at a very reasonable price.

Wanting to comment on this a bit:
The Retributors(double-handed hammer guys) in the Skirmish box are the same as the ones from the original starter, but the Prosecutors(flying hammer guys) are the full kit and not the starter set variant. Which means you can build the awesome Stormcall Javelin guys instead of the double hammers or hammer/shield.

Why are the painted pictures of the Bloodreavers the multipart versions, when the sprues are of the original monopose ones? The 360 degree of the Blood Warrior and Bloodreavers are of the multipart as well, a daft error on GW's part.

It really is amazing how GW is developing the on ramp for AOS. From warhammer quest to shadespire to skirmish to party to glory to full AOS. Still waiting for my shadow Aelves though.

This does however free up space in the General's Handbook 2 for new content.

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm posting.

Fayric commented that the Retributors and flying dual hammer guys from the original starter are both included in the recent skirmish box for Stormcast("Hammerstrike Brethren" boxed set for $65USD).
I commented, as a bit of an add-on to his post, that the Retributors in the skirmish box are the same as the ones from the original starter(aka: the "Easy to Build" ones) while the Prosecutors come with the full kit.

There is no sprue pictures for the Skirmish box just a list of contents which explicitly calls out the Prosecutors as being the ones that were originally available in boxes of 3(have since been doubled to 6).

The full kit for Prosecutors you say? (Adjusts hobby funds accordingly)

The new path to glory looks promising too. GW's heavier focus on skirmish and narrative will hopefully affect it.

That is an epic mental image.

Really GW just needs to make "realm upgrade bits" when they do AoS fillers. Vine covered Duardin beards, human Mongol armor with fire motifs, sleek clockwork designed Aelf armor with a mechanical songbird on the shoulder... just so much they could do.

it doesnt look like the full prosecutor kit.
there are sprue pics on the gw website and they look just like the prosecutors from the main box.

The part about the "full Prosecutor kit" is in reference to the Hammerstrike Brethren Skirmish Warband box that came out with Warhammer Skirmish It's a $65 set, with a $25 Knight Questor, 3 Prosecutors(full kit) and two Easy Build sets(Liberators and Retributors).

There are ZERO sprue pictures for that box. It just has a listing of the contents. I brought it up simply because Fayric made mention of the box and I thought it an important thing for someone interested in the box to know, seeing as how the Liberators and Retributors are both the "easy to build" variants.

Yes, the ones coming in this new "Thunder & Blood" box are the ones from the main box just in gold instead of grey plastic. "Thunder & Blood" is literally just the main box, missing the frames for the Lord on Dracoth and Khul and Bloodsecrator and with the sprues color coded.

Looks like a cool new version of the starter. However i'm unsure about the colored plastic. Gonna have to see how that turns out, how the detail compares to the original grey plastics. Sometimes colored plastics have a weird texture, may be too bendy, or be the opposite and be brittle. I thought the Blood Bowl ones were good. But i've seen some inconsistency with GW plastics in the past year.

I bought a start collecting box from Privateer Press when they started colored plastic. I'd even be so bold to say the quality was better than their standard gray plastic, though thats not saying much considering the poor quality of it all to begin with.

That Khorne / Stormcast pairing is something I really want to see them move on from. I know that's not likely for a long time with their being the starter models, and with 8th edition 40k hitting, but still...

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but Daemonettes have been discontinued on the GW webstore in the united kingdom.

Does this mean we could be receiving a repackage for the rumored shadow elf release ?

Doubtful, as the Shadowkin have been engaged in a war with the followers of Slaanesh in the Realm of Shadow.

But there was talk during the 24 hour stream about Slaanesh apparently.
