AOS died in my area when 8th edition hit, and it was never really that popular before. GH2017 killed a lot of it, people felt it didn't fix the game (by making it more like 40k I guess). However, there's a bright spot: The other day someone at the FLGS (where AOS never really even took off, but 40k exploded) was asking about AOS and a few people commented to say they also had old WHFB armies (boo!) but would dust them off if there was AOS (yay!).

So I may have to take up the reign of organizing it, since nobody else wants to (I had a friend who tried but he's abrasive and it didn't work). I still greatly prefer AOS to 40k anyways. I'm curious of Malign POrtents will be a full campaign series like Realmgate Wars was (this looks likely?) or a league event like Season of War, or maybe both.

Aye that Stormcast Hero is not part of MP, it would be amazing to have a non-Stormcast hero, imagine a Realm of Death themed Freeguild General!!!

I just hope they don't go full grimderp with this. It's one of the things I really enjoy about AoS is the relative balance between the good and evil. I don't mind a bit of back and forth, but I don't want it back at that 5 minutes to midnight they keep doing.

Going by the name, not really. 'Portents' is rather suggestive that it is a temporary thing presaging something bigger. Having portents for a long period with no payoff is unsatisfying.

So I noticed something about the Death and Chaos heralds that may help us guess at the Order and Destruction heralds: both are (presumably) from factions which haven't received battletomes yet. The Death herald seems to be from Nighthaunts (aesthetically, that's the only Death faction that matches), and the Warqueen is likely from Slaves to Darkness (she's been connected to the Darkoath Chieftain, and he has the Slaves to Darkness keyword). So my guess would be Aelf (Eldritch Council?) and Grot (Moon Clan?) for Order and Destruction.

Well, yeah, that's what I meant. 20 days of malign portents and dark omen, and then big reveals. Like new campaign books, news heroes, new battle tome / factions, etc.

The Facebook has been putting in Wanderer activity where they could from having one participate in a archery contest to killing off Skaven outside Hammerhal.

Yeah, I think it's going to be bigger than just a single campaign book/box. They didn't make a dedicated domain name for Firestorm or Blightwar, so the fact that they have done this for Malign Portents suggests it will be a bigger dealio.

They didn't do that for the Realmgate Wars tho, but for the Seeds of Hope / the 40k Fate Of Konor summer campaign they had websites ... But then there was no "dedicated" new models for those campaigns. Well. Hype.

I hope they don't up and bury the Tzeentch storyline they started. We also need a resolution/continuation of Blightwar but that could easily be relegated to subplot status within a larger campaign. It would be a shame if they left us hanging.

unfortunately it's not much of a teaser

I don't think this is going to be really big. Or well, it could be a big event, but at least I do not think it is going to be big in terms of new model releases. GW's release schedule seems pretty full at the moment, no real room for big model releases.
I hope I am wrong though.

yeah this is what I fear also. Think we'll only get a few sc, and they'll call it a day. Same thing happened with gathering storm on 40k. GW seems to be putting more emplhasis toward special characters lately, unfortunately

really hope I'm wrong though, since I think AOS really need some new armies.

To be honest the three triunvirate boxes for Gathering Storm where amazing. I'll love if they do more boxes like those in future campaings. Packs of 3 amazing HQ's with a big discount? Yes please. The Imperium one was the best. A bunch of heroes for different neglectec empire factions.

If they do a Triunvirate of Destruction for AoS, with a Ogre special character, a Goblin special character, and a Ork one? I'll buy it in a heart beat.

yeah, the models were fine, but I have an immense dislike of special characters. I come from the old school of gaming where you'd have to ask the permission to your opponenet before playing with SC. I feel like they restrict the creativity of the players
