Anyone get theirs who preordered from an online retailer?

So I didn't see anything in the rulebook about sticking to one faction when creating your force? Can you mix factions? Are robots a faction?

For narrative play, go crazy. Mix to your hearts content.

For Battle Mode, its more restrictive. Some factions will see cross over in the future, and currently the BoS have access to the Eyebot.

Robots and Creatures will see full force lists in the near future, and again we may start to spread the robot love in the future.

At the very least, Sentry bots and Dogs will likely appear in more factions.

Is there anywhere to see the cards for the miniatures? I know there's a thing on the site for the box set, but I was hoping to get a glance at all the characters.

Not outside the starter set ones they made available...I wouldn't expect them to ever be available for free either as it is part of buying an expansion set.

Super convenient to get a crashed alien ship. That'll save me a lot of work.

Interesting to see both "waves" and a "campaign box". Does that mean the Mirelurk Queen comes as part of a campaign supplement in the way it was suggested Liberty Prime would come with a campaign to either assemble it or stop the Brotherhood from doing so?

Anyway, good to see Mirelurks. Now if you would excuse me, I'll climb on a mountain and never, ever come down to sea level again.

So the Battle Mode cards we'll be able to download would include Character/Unit cards, Leader/Perk cards, Item Cards, the big equipment like Power Armor cards, and...any others?

And we won't be able to download AI cards, Settlement cards, and the various Wasteland decks? Or am I off on the split there?

By the way, I appreciate the methodology there - having watched a friend buy two unneeded, extra Lambda shuttles just to get multiples of a particular X-Wing upgrade card so he'd have enough for a tournament. I imagine being able to print out extra copies of weapon cards so each unit card can have its own copy will help keep who is armed with what easier to remember.

Thank you! I just wanted to get a preview of how the factions characters worked a bit before buying into it.

Yup, if it’s in the battle mode force lists, it will be downloadable.

Things like quests, ai and the like won’t be.

The situation you describe is exactly what we wanted to avoid, as much as selling everyone two behemoths for juicy cards would be profitable, it hurts the community and long term viability of the game.

Wait, hang on. It just occurred to me, there's still no Brahmin in the previews. Not to sound greedy, but it would be good to get those sooner rather than later. Damn.

When I played there was almost a 150 point gap between the settlers and the mutants. Maybe next time the mutants will get the enslaved tech.

Those previews are juicy, cant wait for the pre-order bonus.

Modiphious sent out a email with the links to the battle mode downloads. In there they said they shipped out the single PVC starters and the others are on the way or what some of the hold ups where, I think in the US there is a "box" stuck at customs.

Jon is there Fallout dedicated people in the office? You guys are pumping different games out constantly with updates on top of that.

For now I bought some kids farm yard animal box sets and went all out mad scientist to create some Brahmin.

We have James S, our dedicated designer, then me and the team of four (the wargames team) which includes James B, Joel and Adam.

Lewis is our studio painter, who we share with all mini related releases, and then we have Jonny and his team of sculptors and Michal and his team of graphic designers. Backing this up are our office team, and freelancers, as well as our volunteer demo crew who help with playtesting.

So, it’s not a dedicated team per se, as we also work on the other wargames. We will continue to grow this as the games progress.


We also have our RPG team and our board game/dev team. We do share dev time where possible, for example the dev team were hard on Fallout through its mid period, before heading off to wrap up Siege (which gets closer to wrapping each day)

I had some farm and caravan duty in mind, but mad Brahmin stampede might be fun, too.

Raiding caravans isn't fun if all it carries is three caps and some lint.

Brahmin Stampede random game event - Jon can we please get this?

It's all I ever think about. Convoy missions have been the bane of my wargaming life. I think I've never played any such game that felt balanced. Either the ambushers had a massive advantage or the convoy was never in any real danger.

The logical conclusion is to get myself a new rule set (Wasteland Warfare this time around) and give it another try.

What's the estimate on retail release? I've just finished an excruciatingly long job hunt period, and I wasn't able to pre-order. But I'm jonesing to get this stuff!

Hopefully end of the month, but please don't take that as 100% accurate.

Obviously the demand has been huge, and coupled with a few annoying gremlins like one batch of cards disappearing in the post, we've been held back ever so slightly.

Still, preorders are continuing to ship and people actually have product in hand, so retail won't be far behind.

Then its on to wave 2

I wasn't expecting the pvc models to come pre assembled that was a nice surprise means I can get them primed quick.

Not quite as detailed as the resin but still really good quality given the material.

Look forward to getting a game in with the proper mini's.

It's all good. Looks like plenty of stuff is going out and the projection is that the Vault-Tec bundles should go out in a couple of days. So fingers crossed for the next end of the week.

Truly. I was checking Facebook earlier where everyone's posting their shinies and I thought to myself, would I feel dumb if I had all those models to assemble and convert and paint and play with. No sir, I'm so much better off not getting my stuff.

On the news front:

If I got Chris Birch right, we'll be seeing another general update this week. I also don't recall any word about further hick-ups, so everything should be on track and Wault-Tec bundles are hopefully still scheduled to go out this week.

You are right, i got sent pics of my friends set about an hour ago. He looked miserable with all those boxes of shiny goodies so clearly we are better off without them all.

I have spoken to 3 (unlucky) people who have had their deliveries and none got tracking or dispatch notices, so i am going to have to watch the letterbox 24 hours a day, cant risk missing the delivery that i am definitely not excited about
