Why are so many of the discount sites I am finding online only ship to UK/EU, I can only assume that GW lets them get discounts and screw us rowdy muricans?

GW still has some silly laws/regulations/limitations. That means that if another country is selling beyond the discount of 15% (the new standard GW just applied to the US retailers who can now actually list product on their website) there is probably a stipulation that European store/distributor cannot ship internationally to the US etc.
Something goofy.
There are loads of places to buy 40K stuff in the US, namely eBay (best prices), Docs, Miniature Market, The Warstore, etc.

Yeah that's GW's policy to prevent people from utilizing cheap exchange rates often combined with free shipping(guess stores have some sort of discounts if they can offer free shipping that freely...Trying to donate books for price of shipping and would cost 56e to ship 4kg to America...)

Considering you can get stuff for damn fair w/ free shipping on eBay - you'd have to order some crazy stuff to make any kind of international process worthwhile.

Definitely need a bulk. Without GW policy you would have been getting shipping free. Now you have to pay often ridiculous high prices.

The GW store in Glasgow regularly gets Americans who come over on holiday or whatever, buy in bulk, and ship back to wargaming stores in the US on commission. This is actually cheaper than the alternative. I'd imagine they could go even higher on profit margins by shipping just the sprues.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement. |

I can confirm, went into the said store just a few days ago and was a squad of Yanks buying enormous orders. When the staff asked (out of curiosity, he's a good bloke) they said it was cheap and easier to fly it over and chance their arm with customs than ship it online.
