Looking at those photos makes me even more tempted to get a Tera Khan.

Thanks a lot!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Very nicely done! Agree with earlier post- a (very) light wash over the scales might be nice. Darn you guys- now I have to resist getting a monster like this too, on top of resisting Bushido, and ….!

Gotta say Theo, I've lurked for a long time (about 4-5 years) without much in the way of response, but I've now bought into Bushido after seeing your stuff. Some great sculpts in there, and after getting a great deal on the Rise of the Kage ninjas off a friend I'm ready to get into painting them. Looking forward to it, have a mix of them and some Batman Miniatures ninjas on the painting table now

just give in. These small sized skirmish games really cleanse the palette, besides th manufacturers can spend less time trying to sort out 50 factions of rules.

seriously, they are still Mantic.....almost.....never. I try, but besides kings of war, Mantic hasn’t grabbed me as anything but a half rate GW rip off.

Edit: sorry for the edit, had to take the kiddos to school, massive storms here overnight and this morning causing flooding in areas. I woke up several times with the thunder and sound of driving rain. Anyway grocery run to Walmart with a quick stop off in the toy aisle....

Graven has been building up his Gaslands garage and when he was asking about cars for the prison I was thinking of good old mom cars, which my generation meant station wagons as vans were for work and SUVs were not even a funky pipe dream.

This one just stood out to me. Plus flames .

The last week has been horrendous with work at the hospital and at church, just lots of stupid little things and schedule causing me to have a lack of sleep an just be wiped out. Very little hobby work done over the week. I think I spent less than 10 minutes at my paint desk, so literally nothing to show for it.

Hopefully motivation will return soon.

Nothing I can’t handle, just has drained me emotionally and spiritually. I’ll get right soon enough, thanks Graven

Dulldrums of the weekend with freakin cold weather and ice kept me inside until just about an hour ago. Did the Walmart late night shopping to have stuff ready for kids school tomorrow. Picked up some more cheap brushes from Walmart. 10 pieces for $4.47, not the best, but they’ve been doing an okay job and ten for the price of 1 GW brush .

So did some organizing, very cathartic, but lots more till I’m really ready, but now have a clear painting spot again and plans for putting models to the side, but still reachable for when I want to change gears.

Speaking of changing gears.

Dragon from Zombicide. This is the not dead yet dragon. Still need the expansion which has the I’ve been dead, but didn’t like it so I’m back now dragon. I figure I’ll paint him similar to the red demon thing next to him. Paint pot for size comparison. I’ll probably only get him brush primed tonight, paint may happen starting tomorrow. Also found more Mantic orcs from the dungeon saga box sets, so might see more from them soon.

Looking forward to your work, that expansion is on my list for the future, but not anytime soon.

In the mean time the dragon is at least to tabletop standard.

Still plenty of work to do to it, but at a point I can take a break.

Started another Massive Darkness biggie, I think it’s a troll of some kind, but I think it’ll be part of a beastman blood bowl team.

The team will be called the Animainiyaks , as I am not fond of GW Minotaurs, this guy will fill in as the centerpiece of the team. Thinking of using the Houston Texans emblem as the logo, but yellow and red as the color to match the water tower the Animaniacs are locked up in.

My thoughts exactly, the Warner crew was always good for a laugh.

Well unfortunately the yellow and red don’t work well on this guy , so I might have to change the group up to just being the Mainiyaks. I think the chaos warriors may still have a black and white motif though.

You might notice the Bloodbowl Doom Lords box as the backdrop. My local store is clearing out the blood bowl stuff, so I grabbed the team for half price. Might grab a few more teams later if they are still there, but I want to get this team done first. A second box of these might happen so I can max out on beastmen and make some mutated players to have ready for later. Tonight’s plan is to assemble these guys and maybe get the big guy a little further along.

Edit: there’s a lot of fiddley parts to the beastmen. Most are 7-8 parts per model including separate head and horns. The payoff though is fantastic, GW has really stepped up there game over the last few years. Aside from the stupid aesthetics of the Dwarf team all the blood bowl teams have been awesome, and these guys are no less spectacular. With the heads and horns separate I was able to make 8 unique beastmen since there are 6 variant sets of horns the guys with the same poses have different horn styles, and the two types who look like they are running I glued them differently to the bases so that one of each looks like they are taking a hard turn while running and the other looks like a hard block.

It took longer to assemble than I thought it would, so sleep happened and I might be able to prime them before I head to work.
All primed and at least one layer of skin/fur base coat is applied.

I lived in Memphis for 3 months....let’s just say I won’t be headed back soon, though the GW warehouse is there....

Besides all I need is Vince McMahon showing up to my house saying I’m infringing on their idea .

Well more progress even though it’s slow.

Base coated the armor Jokero Orange.

Layer of Troll slayer orange.

I think my new plan will be orange armor with red leathers and yellow fabrics. Not sure how I’ll do the fabrics on the big guy yet.

Thanks for looking

Have to set for another funeral for tomorrow, 24 hour notice , I didn’t get the voicemail of the persons passing for some reason, so I’ll be setting and cleaning after working at the hospital tonight. Long stretch to the early morning. All that to say don’t expect much progress for a while.

Yeah, a little bit of nostalgia goes a long way.

JoeRugby wrote:Cool beastmen dude

Thanks Joe, their poses and sense of movement really sell these guys. They aren’t static at all, and a few of the models look like they’d be great with some hockey sticks .

Well not much done these last few days, and with our internet down (freakin ATT ) means my background movies and checking up online is very limited. Tech should be out today after me spending 3+ hours between midnight Friday and Saturday morning on the phone with people in India who are not native English speakers and who’s names sure are not Stephen, Shaun and Angeline..... .

Anyway, the beastmen are all but done. Need to highlight all the black straps and figure out the basing for the team.

Started on the 4 chaos warriors, all are to this point, no washes yet, and still have a good distance to go yet.

Im not sure what color to do the edges of the armor in, or the rest of the metals. Thinking of doing the trim in bone to match the horns of the beastmen.

Tried black trim , looked bad, not even angry pumpkins bad, just bad. Don’t know why I even tried it, I felt the trim had to be a lighter color to balance the dark skin, fur and boots, but I tried it anyway. Then I started with the base to do bone trim, I think this is headed in the right direction, let me know on your thoughts please.

Thanks Youashock, that’s what I was thinking as well. Not sure if I’ll go with bone or try NMM gold for the trims now though.

In other news......not really news that I bought more stuff before I finished one thing , but news in the fact I bought two more blood bowl teams .

FLGS has a clearance sale on stuff going and seems they are done with BloodBowl, so I grabbed the skaven team and Dark Elves each at 50% off. Also grabbed a pot of Astroganite Debris, I’ve never used that, but that might become my basing material for the chaos guys at least. I think grey will show off their orange suits pretty well, even though bright green turf might do it better . Tests will be done. The shop has at least two more chaos teams, another Dark Elves team, four Prancy Elven teams a slew of team dice and pitches available. For right now though this will hold me......until my most recent Bushido order arrives......and my Kickstarter Blackwater Gulch gangs arrive , man I think I have a few months worth of stuff sorted out now .

Stupid note of the day: I hit my 5 years at the hospital back in November. As a 5 year award you can choose items from a website in the $50 range, so I looked and found a discover card $50 gift card, so yeah I’ll take that and buy what I really want....Right??? Nope, after 5 months I finally get the card and it’s discover all right, but it’s a special promotional card that can only be used at certain retailers . Out of the thirty or so listed, Lowe’s and Best Buy are the only two I would probably ever use them at , and since Kmart I saw one of the ones listed (and they are out of business ) I probably won’t use it there. I tried the card at the FLGS and of course it was declined, I was hoping it was just trying to get us to use it at their partners, but nope, just at certain stores. Any one else think that sucks? Oh well, free money, I shouldn’t complain.

Scheme looks fine.
You'll want a spot colour in there somewhere.

To get a good contrast the complimentary colour of Orange is a turquoise. Reddish orange with a greener colour, Yellowish orange wants a bluer colour.

Maybe use that for their numbers. Or a stripe if you don't fancy freehanding numbers.

Definitely not freehanding numbers , maybe decals in white for the number and either chaos star or beastman skull symbol.

I did take your advice on the turquoise though. Not sure if this is green enough, it starter as army painter hydra turquoise and then got a wash of Coelia Greenshade over it. I’m leaning towards a really bright green grass base if that helps.

As usual my photography and lighting are not the best .

Edit: not actual turf, but a quick dip in the homemade turf I created a ways back that may just get used finally.
