RIP mate. Made 30k what it is!

Maybe GW has secretly figured out Dreadnought tech and he will be coming back to finish what he started. One can hope...

Loved his work in Forge World. He knew how to write cool stories in the setting. He will be missed.
RIP.

What terrible news, I logged on to Dakka to read about all the cool upcoming stuff from Warhammer fest and now all of that seems very drab and inconsequential.

Mr. Bligh contributed a great deal to the hobby, and produced some really excellent work, I know the 40k universe will be diminished in his absence. I wish the best to his friends and family, they have my condolences. May he rest in peace.

Thanks for writing that Grotsnik, we really appreciate you doing so. Very elegantly worded.

That's alright,

Same ethos as my Loot Sharing group - do for others what they won't get a chance to.

Massively bummed at his passing. But I shall honour his memory by plunging through all my Horus Heresy books and devouring his precious background.

I've met him once or twice at events, and he was always a really good bloke. Even signed my Vol 1 of Heresy.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Have also asked on the FW Facebook page if he had a favoured charity in case anyone wants to make a donation in his memory.

Seemend tactless to ask his colleagues on an already busy day when they've not had time to process.

I think he was one of the few positives for the couple of decades when GW just reproduced the same old stuff. Not entirely sure exactly what he did but I can say that his Badab War books gave a lot of depth to the background which had been missing since things like special games stopped being released.

Forge World are going to get back to me on the charity thing.

If nothing else, I'll make a donation to Cancer Research UK.

Because Cancer sucks major balls and can frankly do one.

It does indeed. Having witnessed it in my family a few years ago I know how terrible it is.

I'm not massively tech savvy but could we do a dakka collection from one of those sites like just giving?

'Murica! (again)

A week later and still sad and heavy news. We celebrate this legend by playing his game/work and enjoying it in the spirit it was created--a fine tribute. RIP Mr. Bligh
