Asking again - anyone know of any online stores offering the Open War cards for pre-order? Warstore, Minimarket, GameNerdz, and Frontline all do not list the Open War card deck for pre-order. Only the easy to build and smaller starters.

But GW doesn't list the Open War cards as direct only, so, not sure if it's an oversight or what.

Here's a new shop in MA hat has them for pre-order: https://www.alphaomegahobby.com/collections/new-releases

Ah thanks, I didn't check their site yet.
Looks like they have some interesting rules and gear. Those grenades sound useful.

I always figured Chaplain skulls were less about scarying the enemy, and more of a ritualistic identification for other marines.

Scaring the enemy with cartoonish skull helms isn't part of modern (Or many ancient) psychological warfare tactics anyway. This is especially true when fighting against trained and organized military organizations in which ancient cultures generally did not have.

The Reivers seem cool as per their rules but I can't believe that even in the ART they can't get normal movement poses. Who are they hiring these days? 1st year art students without an education in anatomy? The dude on the right is fairly awful.

Ok cool. So intercessor stats, extra attack from knives, and bolt pistols with -1 ap (and maybe a bit more range, if they correspond with bolt rifles' increased range and ap over a bolter).

Fun that the enemy doesn't get to overwatch at them. That makes them a decent assault unit against soft stuff.

Interesting that they don't mention anything about infiltration or deep strike. That doesn't mean they can't do it. They might not want to entirely give the game away.

Even without that they seem ok for 18 points, if the repulsor is resonably-priced. A unit of these guys with a Librarian to buff them would be pretty cool.

If they do infiltrate, and can have bolt rifles, then they'll be very useful in maelstrom missions. Set up in cover on an objective they'll be fairly hard to remove. But I kind of doubt they can do this, as if they could they would just be better intercessors for 2 points less. I think that probably means bolt rifles are out, and the guy who said he'd seen them is mistaken - or making it up.

Scouts can have bolters, there is no reason that they couldn't have bolt rifles for free. After all, bolt rifles are inferior to what normal space marines already have on a variety of units. They aren't that great of weapons.

Their rules are great - their models look like trash.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Please explain how a S4 AP-1 30" range weapon is inferior to a S4 AP0 24" range weapon.
Its a basic weapon. Its not supposed to be god tier. Try comparing basic weapons to basic weapons.

The one on the left in that artwork has a bolt rifle so it seem pretty reasonable that the models will have access to them as well.

That looks more like a regular Boltgun to me.

Not sure why everyone is disliking the models, but to each his own. I like them.

Definitely interested in seeing a full kit for them.

Samurai wore demonic masks for exactly that reason..or so I've read..

EDIT: I'm also a bit torn. I am building my Primaris as Templars.. but figuring out if the Reivers should be Neophytes or if I should use actual scouts for that or what is kinda frustrating.

Depending on the rest of the rules, I might just take some gruesome looking Marines and stick them on bigger bases to represent them. Models aren't bad, but I would like everything to be in line for my project.

When did 'trash' become the adjective du jour? Even aside from the 'hey others might like them' factor it's needlessly hyperbolic. A simple "I don't like them" would suffice.

FWIW, I like them.
