Highly doubt it is a business decision. If that'd be the case GW would have made ordinary marines able to use the Repulsor.
They have not, ergo it is most likely a balance or fluff decision.
What is also possible is that GW intents to separate the Primaris and Space Marine lines at some point in the future.

If I were running things I'd plan for some sort of Primaris/Secondis split down the line.
Either Roubert and his New Marines turn out to be Eldar puppets and/or they get a case of holier than thou and start their own darn Imperium only gooder and betterer!
We'll see. For now though, annoying. And a pretty sure sign the Secondis Marines are going to get shelved as far as new releases.

Did it ever get retconed that marines recharged there armour from power points in there transports, if not theres a valid reason for primaris to not use rhinos etc as the vehicals are incompatable with the new armour power packs.

I remember reading they basically had tiny miniature nuclear fission/fusion plants as a power source somewhere, but it might have been a non canon source like one of the FFG rpgs or something.

The basic fluff explanation would simply be locking mechanism that hold the specific marks of armor in place and specific vox/data access protocols. Old stuff works with old stuff only, because Space Marines can't just quit fighting for a couple years to refit all their old transports.

Is the Repulsor the same?
Honestly, I think it's just because the marketing brief for Primaris Marines was originally written by someone's 8-year-old.
"Yeah, these new Primaris Marines, they're just like normal Marines except that they're bigger and have cooler armour and new organs that makes them tougher and lets them pee acid and sing the national anthem in tune and stuff, and they have boltguns that are bigger than normal boltguns and can be swapped for other bigger boltguns that shoot different special bolts, and some of them have plasma guns that are bigger than normal plasma guns and can be switched to even bigger, bigger plasma guns with cables and stuff, and they have a tank that is like a land raider but with more guns and it has super-special bigger guns and it flies! And only Primaris Marines can go in it, and if anyone else goes too close to it their butts explode or something." Automatically Appended Next Post: Kirasu wrote:

I dont think it was a business decision at all, just a poor decision that has some poor reasoning behind it that we are not yet aware of.
As previously mentioned several times, Normal marines would be allowed to board it if they only wanted to sell as many as possible.

If I were to be deciding things, six Primaris Marines would fit in a Rhino, Drop Pod, or Land Raider. Land Raider Redeemer can hold eight, Land Raider Crusader can hold ten. Repulsor can hold fifteen regular Marines.
I really do think this is a business decision because they want people to be compelled to buy the new stuff. Can't transport your shiny new Primaris Marine in a Rhino? Buy a Repulsor! Can't use your regular Marine with a Repulsor, buy some Primaris Marines!

Daft transport rules aside. It seems likely that the variant chapters(BA,DA,SW,DW) will be getting full access to all the Primaris models that don't stay as DI exclusives. Anybody else tempted to hold off on putting paint to plastic on any V2Marines until a few more power armour codex's drop? Given that GW seem to aiming for four books a month they could be coming soon.

I actually think that primaris might be too good if they could hide in rhinos from a game balance stand point, especially the hellblasters. being able to safely move into range on the first turn and then get out and fire/fight on the 2nd works good for normal marines, so it would be even better for primaris. Right now the main thing keeping them from not being way better is having to walk.
I don't see any reasons for them not to be treated like terminators, though, and be able to go into land raiders and storm ravens, though that also doesn't strike me as very worth doing.

They way the sprues are laid out, I wouldn't be surprised if they get variants of some of those units. The weapons for the Redemptor are on a different Sprue. My guess is we will see a Furioso Variant for Blood Angels and a Mortis Variant for Dark Angels. Hopefully a giant Frost Cannon for Space Wolves. It is actually quite ingenious. Now they just take a giant ass tank that is covered in guns. Not much of a difference. Though, as 210 pts without weapons, Repulsors are going to be pretty expensive. Probably in the 350 pt range or more.

Isn't that the guy from Overwatch? I mean, its a good model technical wise, but design wise...not really. Looks too much like the grim reaper. The chaplain had a nice distinctive appearance, but the primaris chaplain looks really generic to me. Wait, is that a shotgun? Definitely the reaper guy from overwatch

Chaplain looks badass to me. Some similarities to Reaper from overwatch, but honestly the 'black robed skull figure' is about a generic character design and one can get. And I like GWs rendition of it.

I really do not like the Apothecary model. Nothing about it says 'battlefield medic'. He is standing on the dead for one, which would be okay if he was also posed to be in the middle of saving his battle brother. But instead he is standing on the dead absent mindedly while "humming and hooing" over some piece of curiousiness as if he has zero respect for his battle brother's corpse. All the while he is part of a stiffling strong culture that exalts the battle dead as the truest of Imperial heroes.
He looks like a arena FPS character whose bio says "armored biologist who is prone to losing focus when he sees something interesting amongst the bodies of the dead" than a combat medic who is doing everything in his power to keep his battle brothers alive while in the thick of battle.
He doesn't even look like a battlefield medic, he looks like an over grown biologist doing a post battle analyst of the enemy dead.
He should have been hunched over, festooned with the gear to keep his brothers alive with a stoic look on his face than some arrogant dingbat in space marine armor.
Definitely will be making my own apothecaries.
