Kinda odd. The GW in The Hague said they'd have the guy to... And that anniversary is this Saturday I thought... That's before the 8th and 9th of July... At least, that's what the managers and the clerks were saying.

Why is it odd? From GW site - "This Primaris Space Marine Captain will be available to pick up or order at store anniversaries from this July."

The Warhammer Community site says (at least, the way I read it) that all store anniversaries from this July for the next 12 months will get that mini - so The Hague will have it available on Sunday, 1st of July 2018. One of the last to have it available.

This was based on an incorrect premise; see below.

Nope, they definitely have the guy on pre-order this Saturday Juli 1st. I thought the GW Com post said from the 8/9th onwards.

Every year, each of our hundreds of Warhammer and Games Workshop stores across the world celebrate their anniversaries with a weekend of celebration, gaming, painting competitions and general festivities.

These are events when hobbyists across the town or city gather to celebrate Warhammer in their area.

Over the next year, Warhammer and Games Workshop store anniversaries will have a very special guest.

This Primaris Space Marine Captain will be available to pick up or order at store anniversaries from this July.

Clad in the new Mk X armour and wielding the classic power fist and plasma pistol combo, this guy will look right at home next to your new Dark Imperium Primaris Space Marines. As there is no Chapter-specific iconography on the miniature, you can very easily use this guy in a range of Space Marines forces. Using him in your games is easy too, as full rules are included with the model.

This captain will be available the world over, wherever there’s a Warhammer or Games Workshop store, and because these will be available for a whole year, everyone will have a chance to get their hands on one.

He’s not the only special product available at your local store anniversary though.

Also exclusive to those weekends will be a painting mat, brush wallet, ‘Eavy Metal Dice (literally) and a Warhammer 40,000 Artbook.

Seemingly so. From what I can make out, up 2nd September you place your order in-store, to be delivered on the 2nd September release date.

After that, if my info is good (always that caveat!), stores will have physical stock, but still be able to take orders for in-store delivery.

Warhhamer Glasgow's anniversary is July 19th; so far, so good. I really like the mini, too.

But I have an Astral Claws army. :(

I do have a small unpainted force of Black Templars, Ultramarines, Blood Angels and Dark Angels (i.e, the Marines from the 2nd - 6th edition boxed games), so he could lead those.

We know that there are full Primaris chapters and it's not unheard of for names to get recycled.

Or you can assume they're a result of Huron geneseed manipulation and fit them seamlessly in your current army, rules and all.

It is barely an Ultramarine exclusive. Their U is on the eagle. That is all. Easy fix.

While it doesn't have the specific Ultramarine U's on it, it's definitely Ultramarine themed with that style of skirt and such details.

Disagree. He just has all the stuff GW normally puts on SM Captains which are not chapter specific. These models are normally presented in UM colors on the website, but thats it.
