You could equally back $96 now and just pay shipping in the PM, or $1 now and then $95 plus shipping in the PM. For purely selfish reasons, those us with Maiden pledges would prefer it if you did the former :p

Here's a size comparison pic of minis within the range. Falstaff is on the left, and is presumably 16mm to the top of the head. The Beast and Devil are to the right and are 200mm.

Wow.... it might be the paint-job... but that Dragon looks as good as my FW Smaug... and I paid $600 for that. :-p

It's bigger than the GW Smaug mini as well. Here it is unpainted, as a well as a size comparison shot with a full-sized Leo -

If they hadn't literally just fulfilled a similarly value rich KS to me (Mythic Battles Pantheon), i'd literally think this would be an over-promised, scammy kickstarter.... but no... they're just legitimate madmen, who want to make a mark on this industry.

The Miniatures Page started as a 15mm historical wargames site, so should have recommendations for other 15mm rules.

Ral Partha Europe has Demonworld. RPG.net has a review of it.

That chicken is awesome. (: Still saving up for Batman, but, for those who received it, how do the Mythic Battles Pantheon game sets look?

Mythic Battles looks pretty terrific. For mass-produced board-game plastics, i'm very, very impressed with the quality and the value for the price I paid. It also helps that the game is EXCELLENT.

I threw a buck at it. I'll let future me will decide how much more, if any, to spend on this.

ETA - in going through the options, the $120 core is a really solid value compared to the expansions. Village and Battles are a poor value vs a 2nd core. Only the Siege and Dragon expansions are interesting because of the HUGE Castle and HUGE Dragon. For $85 and/or $65, how often would I play the Castle or Dragon?

I just can’t jump to 15mm, the subject field is up my alley, but I have so much 28mm I just don’t want to make the jump.

Glad the dragon will be available later as that fits my 28mm need just fine.

There's no guarantee the dragon will be available at retail as it depends on the retail version of the core box selling well enough for retailers to want more. It'll also be much more expensive if it does make it. The Devil is another to check out if you want the minis for 28mm. It's almost as big as the FW Bloodthirster.

OK, I gotta say the latest round of size comparisons is pretty amusing.

The Griffon is the size of the 5H Church! And the included Beast is 9H tall!

I would pass on the Dragon after all.

I would pledge just to get the dragon....

Although I already pledge because of many other items.

I am incredibly torn with this game. I really don't need another game as due to limited number of gaming firiends it probably wont head, due to the number of unpainted models I have it is unlikely to ever reach my painting table and I wont be able to help myself and go all on which will be extremely costly here especially once the new pledge manager only addons appear. I watched the second half of the big battle demonstration and felt it was on the bland side with no-one manoeuvring, just rolling dice from the same position every turn.I am also running out of space!

On the other hand it seems incredibly good value for money, the terrain looks great and some of the models look amazing.

I already have several other games arriving this year /start of next and may pick up Necromunda so next to none spare time.

I am still very tempted though.

@Aeneades: part of the blandness of the big battle scenario is that the goal was to capture the middle, which isnt a very exciting goal, and one that doesnt lead to very dybamic battles. BUT itndoes show off core mechanics without getting too complicated

Automatically Appended Next Post:
That said, Im probably gonna magnetize the bottoms of a lot ofnmine so I can switch. Larger bases between games. ToL one day, or see about finally trying out a DBX type game on rectangle bases or some thing.

What ever captures peoples attention the most, as I think I'll be introducing 15mm as a thing to all of Taipei lol.

Yup. Great-looking game in a compelling scale for fantasy battle, but not something I "need" in my collection.

Right now, I think I've talked myself out of everything aside from the core (and maybe Castle), though it'd be one hell of a toolbox. Really, it's the same as Rising Sun, where the value proposition is excellent, if that's the sort of thing that you want. The question is whether I really want it for $120+.

I'm doing very well to keep myself down to just the Dragon. I know I'll never paint or play the actual game despite how lovely and great value it looks.

The Dragon, at that price, I'd just irresistible though.

I already have way too many board games, I have numerous skirmish Games (too many to count and Necromunda likely ordered next week) and have a rank and file fantasy game on the way with Song of Ice and Fire. As soon as I decide to cancel my pledge I see the nice models again (it’s the buildings that especially keep tempting me along with the great value). I wish I had the will power to restrict myself to just a basic pledge but lack of will power means I always end up going all in.

Well, go all in then and tell yourself you are now set for life. You will never have to back another kickstarter again. At least, that is how I justify spending too much money on every kickstarter.

I absolutely don't need this game. I have no space for it. I will never play it. I want to paint the minis I have got. The only other 15mm I have is FOW. Shipping to the UK on an all-in would be horrendous.

Still .... nnnngg must fight urge ....

I tell myself this at least once a month (will definitely be breaking this for Batman next year along with what ever else CMON want to taunt me with).

I believe this is meant to be a new franchise with annual releases in a different setting. So any commitment I make to buy this would mean I almost certainly go all in for subsequent kickstarters in the future. I have to say I am very interested in what some of the future settings are planned to be because there is a lot of portential out there especially with inclusion of deities and mythological creatures.

@Aeneades and Darkjim- don't resist the urge! Give in tonyour dark impulses!

Really though, its killer value for money considering all the stetch gials, and Im sticking to a maiden and a village pack (and hopefully a unit of arquebusiers if they sell them separately in the pledge manager)

And if your afraid of shipping costs just think about howbmuch it'll br to get all posted to Taiwan...

Those with doubts...going for base pledge 120$ and lthrowing Extra 15$ for bases, so that you can play with as much stuff you want is probably your best bet.

And if you are interested in just some models, you really won't have problem selling this for a profit. Since 120$ for maiden pledge is awesome value! They said retail would be 100% more expensive, so you are basically getting 50% discount! And excluzives which those people that missed KS will want...I mean, just look at the beast, he alone will be easily Worth 20$ in aftermarket.

And you help with push to 2mil which will be awesome 2 story inn with interior!

This is one of the more exciting KS I was part!

I've actually always wanted to try KoW at 15mm, but am unfamiliar with model ranges I could use to flesh out other armies. I know its an aside, but if you have any suggestions for 15mm fantasy lines, let me know!

That said, reading about ToL and seeing it played has also convinced me to play it when it arrives. The value proposition sold me, but the game proper is also winning me over.

Realistically, I'm not going to be in a position to play this when I get it - it's going to be a few years before I've painted and got my act together. I move at a glacial pace!

However, I still play Battletech using the set that I bought over 25 years ago, so I'm hoping that this is going to become a long term investment sandbox game.

Medieval castle and knights game?
Medieval Agricola?
Medieval Cluedo?
Medieval slay the dragon game?

I want this to be a game that sits around the house for years and covers many eventualities.

This is looking really great, if I had the cash to spare I'd buy in. Though I may end up waiting for retail and just picking a few of the models up for other stuff, I love that dragon and the gryphon too. Hopefully the detail will be good on the PVC minis (they're PVC right?)

This will be my first foray into 15mm KoW, I usually stick to 6mm and 28mm. but I do like Khurasan miniatures when it comes to 15mm minis.
