Could just be new Quests WD. I'd be happy enough with that.

I'd be utterly ecstatic if they released more dungeon tiles and that of course.

But as I said earlier, Quest is a surprisingly easy game to refresh as it doesn't require new models to be made specifically for it. Just release new stuff which enables us to freely add existing models.

Me? I'd kill for a Sylvaneth styled dungeon. Let me fill it with Dryads and Kuornos Hunters etc.

Stopped in at a GW yesterday and asked about these, we even popped open the most recent WD and the cards weren't even mentioned in there (John Blanche playing cards were though). Bummer too, cuz the wife and I would have grabbed some new gribblies we didn't have for WHQ if there was any idea of what was coming (that we didn't already have). Still looking forward to these! I have most of the chaos infantry range, but I'd be happy to grab anything I'm missing, especially Skaven since it's a new addition to Chaos (for my playing purposes).

Wishlist for me:
New base game with new heroes (like that Darkoath Queen)
New hero bundle packs (gimme a warriors pack or another mage pack)
New cards for monsters that you can buy
New skills and artefacts

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

It is a shame the Dark Imperium cards aren't normal suits for use with more casual games and peopel who aren't 40K geeks.

Yeah, I'd love to use them with Savage Worlds RPG games for initiative cards.

We looked in the WD that had the Necromunda woman on the cover. Is there a more recent one than that? Because it did NOT have any mention of the WHQ cards. We went right to the page that had the Blanche-40k playing cards, nothing about WHQ. I'm seriously pumped for any and all enhancements to WHQ!

Why? There are plenty of novelty card decks out there with various themes, as long as the format is correct(and it is) does it really matter if the suits are Eagles, Cogs, Daemons, and Freaks rather than Hearts, Clubs, Spades, and Diamonds, or any other four things? The whole point of themed decks is that they adhere to the theme.

Monster cards are great - but what I really want is some rebalanced characters. Some are hideously strong (looking at you, Assassin), while others are just not worth taking, such as the Darkoath and the Corsair.

You're not using the Darkoath Chieftain right, then. Can't tell you how many times I've cleared a room in one turn with him.

Nice to see ongoing support for Warhammer Quest. Since that game appeals to me way more than Age of Sigmar, I'm very happy about that.

Can confirm. I've never experienced any performance issues with him. Maybe because mine is Slaanesh marked...

Interesting that the naming suggests we might enjoy other packs in the future. I really hope we do!

Give him the War Dancer, Chosen and Battlewrath skills and he becomes an absolute blender!

Yep. Even today people whisper tales of the moonwalking barbarian who beat people to death with a severed gor head.

Sure sounds like it. I wouldn't be opposed to a little undead expansion card set.

I'm interested in these.

Not that I've played EITHER quest game, as I haven't finished painting them...

Is the GM absolutely necessary for Hammerhal? Is it possible to run the game with the kids as a fellow hero while still somewhat playing the adversarial role?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

You'd basically be playing a GMPC at that point. Part of Hammerhal is the hidden info aspect, where the hero's don't know the layout of the chunk of dungeon they are doing and the GM does. For playing it with kids, you'd be just fine controlling a hero but not making any of the decisions that would be influenced by your knowledge (which door to take next, etc).

Or just let the kids control the extra hero amongst them (IIRC he game actually has rules for doing so if you have lest than 4 hero players).

Very simple. There are loads of card games which require certain suits, etc. If I pull out a deck of cards to play a game with my family or my brother or his kids, etc...I don't want a "counts as" nonsense on the deck. It's just a silly design decision with zero purpose And don't tell me they couldn't have "fit" the normal suit icons into the custom icons. A diamond with an Inquisition symbol in the middle, etc. Very easy to make them more useful outside of the 40K-geek bubble we inhabit.

I've been interested in picking up either or both Warhammer Quests, the ability to use my current miniatures in-game would certainly be a boost. Especially if they do make card packs for Death and Destruction.

Could an Order pack fit with the theme of the game, if you ran a party of heroes from the other Grand Alliances?

Surely that's only an issue if it's a game that requires multiple decks? Otherwise you've got a deck of cards with four distinct suits; two reds, two blacks. What game could possibly necessitate that your cards must only ever be the four traditional suits?

In short, there are numerous games where suits are valued differently etc. I don't want to spend time "Wait, what does this eagle wing actually mean?" etc. Not to mention - what good is teaching card games to a 10 year old nephew with bizarre symbols he'll never use again?

It's just a very niche deck, a shame since I like Blanche's style and would have enjoy a standard, normal poker deck.

Blanche recently made a bunch of cards like this for some inquisimunda game in America. I think this was more the intention behind the deck.

It's a themed novelty deck featuring 40K imagery in a polarizing art style(I love it, many don't), of course it's a niche deck, that's the sodding point. Why on earth would you ever expect a "standard, normal" product? As for your nephew, I'd wager you're underestimating his ability to remember four instances of "this equals that", but even if you're not why would you use a novelty deck to teach normal card games?
