They're definitely not in the current WD, but they do resemble that 'mommy buy this' pages at the end of this month's issue. Sadly they don't work nearly as well as 'wife let me buy this' pages.
Look forward to starting my cult force finally though. Feels rather nice to be able to build a force for less than 200 bucks, which had been a sticking point for me for a while. Buy them as I paint from there and maybe I'll have an army worth mentioning before next year's out.

if I have Deathwatch Overkill (and a Goliath I picked up randomly for cheap) would the battleforce for GC be a bit of a waste? I'm paying for another set of HQ choices I currently have, for example. (the extra vehicles never go amiss though)

A second set is definitely not a waste. A Patriarch is a terrifying monster psyker that also makes your peeps fearless, having two of them is not bad for a pure GSC force. Magus is very, very spammable and having more than 1 unit guided by a Primus during Cult Ambush is great as well.

Are the GSCHQs no longer unique? Haven't really looked at their 8th ed rules.
2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress 2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)
Yeah that's it as far as battleforces are concerned, 8 of them. The Christmas flyer is 20-something pages long, I've flipped through it and nothing jumped out at me as being new but maybe I just missed something.

Looking back at last year, I guess it makes a kind of sense. There was about that many last year and they seemed to pick the more expensive armies to perk up with it.
Now to decide between the Stormcast or Tau one. I could use a third Ghostkeel and more Stealth Suits...
Genuinely surprised at the lack of a Space Marines 'Battleforce' this year but I distinctly recall they had at least two last year Space Wolves and Deathwatch (and that's off the top of my head) so giving them a rest this year does make sense.
I'll be taking the plunge with a new AoS force then, just have to decide between Kharadron, Stormcast and Death... They all have really nice models, it's hard to choose!

Last year was Space Wolves, Deathwatch, Tau Empire, and AdMech.
AoS was Stormcast Eternals, Sylvaneth, and Khorne Bloodbound.
That might not be all of them but that's all I can remember. I do know the Tau one though, as I did buy it. Pathfinders, Stealth Suits, a Ghostkeel, Battlesuit Commander, Devilfish, and a Broadside. My box was missing a sprue for the Devilfish and bases for the Stealth Suits...but they doubled up on my Stealth Suits so I wasn't too fussed.
