So it looks like there has been counter-rumoring to the Dark Angels rumors as of late.

There were some rumors that came out of Facebook's Inner Circle over the weekend, and I have been told by multiple credible and reliable sources that these are just not real. With that said, there are a few tidbits of additional rumors, that even though they come from someone reliable, he is asking for salt.

Here is a little rumor to start it off. Please don't forget the salt on this one. There are good hints of Fulgrim coming, but even then.

I saw a load of bogus rumours that had been sent in about the Dark Angels on your site today, and thought I'd clear things up from what I've heard from a VERY reliable source:
The next Primarch will not be the Lion, the next slated Primarchs in the works are Leman Russ and Fulgrim.

My source had previously told me about Mortarian way before he was announced, but I couldn't verify if it was true until it was too late and the info was already out. So I wanted to wait and see if the rumours were true about a Space Wolf codex in December alongside BA and DA (which would disprove the Russ rumour). Doesn't look like Wolves are coming in December now... so make of this what you will.

Here is a bit of a follow up, and looking ahead at the future primarchs..
Take with a pinch of salt obviously as I can’t be 100% sure, but from tidbits I’ve heard it does line up with Wolves not getting a pre-Xmas release so that they can get a big release next year (Fenris being right on the Cicatrix Maledictum might be relevant for some upcoming fluff), then Slaanesh getting some love Q3/4 (following from the Khorne release a couple of years back, Tzeentch last year and Nurgle this year).

As soon as I saw the announcement of a dual Blood Angels/Dark Angels release, I assumed Russ would be the next Primarch released.

I've been saying for months (since Mortarion was officially teased by GW) that the next primarch after him would be either Russ, or the Lion, with my thought being the Lion (with the Cypher re-sculpt release along side Bobby G.)

Now that we know that Dark Angels are getting their rules update, and no teaser video showing a conspicuously Dark Angels sword has been offered as yet, I suspect we will get some kind of Space Wolf oriented teaser in short order after the new year and the new Daemon codex releases.

Then, after the wolf time ends and all releases for it are finished, I suspect we'll start seeing new Noise Marine and Slanesh re-scuplts along with an impending Fulgrim release.

After that, be it late 2018 or early 2019, we'll get our next loyalist primarch (likely the Lion, but we'll see).

I'm certainly excited to see what comes next, that's for sure.

Russ seems plausible given that the loyalists are short a primarch, and space puppies are the only marine codex not getting updated this year FOR SOME REASON.

I would almost expect angron before fulgrim, though. Geedubz is trying to shy away from slanesh, seems like, but everyone loves giant rage monsters.

Would it not be a bit weird to bring back Russ who basically said "I'll come back at the end of time to fight alongside you all to the death" vs any other Loyal Primarch? Plus he'd pretty much be naked because they keep finding bits of his armour each time they have a vision. Hopefully Logan Grimnar remembers to pack it all up nice to give it back to him.

In fact out of all of them he's the most senseless.

Vulkan said he'd be back once the Salamanders found all the stuff he left behind. Just have them all be found.

Lion is MIA, sleeping. Could just wake up without much fuss for the fluff.

Khan can ride out of the portal he went through. No fuss. Same with Corax, he just turns up again.

Even Rogal Dorn could rock back up with one hand missing and would be a relatively exciting prospect - the ever loyal Dorn having to decide to back his fellow Primarch or stand up for what the current Imperium is.

I remember Hastings mentioning Russ on his list of Primarchs coming out- although I think he had Angron there not Fulgrim (the list wasn't in order I think). He got Gulliman and Mortarion right.

Sadly, I can almost picture the Fulgrim model. There's not a lot of suspense to that one, big serpentine tail topped with a long-haired man's torso.

But I do wonder what Russ would look like. My understanding is he's been fighting in the Eye of Terror, which has given us the Wulfen in the past. Imagining he comes back as a Dreadnought-sized werewolf sporting armor with pieces of every mark strewn together.

I imagine this Russ model would be more popular with Chaos players as a Daemon Prince conversion.

Certainly seems plausible enough - the quick codex re-releases that are happening are not going to get a new release as big as a Primarch, they're being saved for big range redos.

We don't even know what the next one of those is going to be (maybe Sisters for those who's hope triumphs over experience :-) ), but it isn't Dark Angels.

There are lots of rumours of a big range of Slaanesh coming though, so Fulgrim accompanying that makes a great deal of sense.

No, he said he's not the first loyalist because everyone expected this because of Magnus. He said Mortarion, Robby, Russ and either Fulgrim or Angron, can't remember the last,

A Q1 Russ release also follows suit with the timing of the roll-out they used when they released Guilliman. Just guessing, but I think they release Russ to be a close combat monster....more similar to Morty and Magnus than Guilliman.

Fulgrim could be good but I really wish they had done Chaos Powers dexes rather than yet more (Chaos) Marine dexes - each Power having its own Dex would have been really great IMO

I meant more along the lines of the Gulliman release - storyline book, and a couple figures (including Russ), and then a Death Guard like release for Slannesh next September/October

I wouldn't expect Wulfen or Deathwatch Primaris specific kits.

At most, I think we might see some kind of upgrade frame released for them like the Ultramarines got.
I've got my fingers crossed for a Raven Guard one that has Stalker Bolt Rifles for Reivers.

Nope. Closest is the Intercessors with Stalker Bolt Rifles.

I was really hoping that the FW Index for Marines would bring Mor Deythan and Moritat into the Raven Guard arsenal.

I'd be up for older and wiser(but still the best there is at what he does

) Russ. Roboute and possibly the Lion can be essentially there late HH/scouring era selves due to stasis. But the other Primarchs have led lives that will have changed them.

Honestly, I kind of like the dynamic of how the Chaos/Imperial Primarchs stand up to each other. I wouldn't mind at all if they kept the Chaos guys as beatsticks, while the Imperial versions were huge buff masters. Obviously there would be exceptions (Russ being a beatstick and Logan being a buffer).

Well Angron will be with the Armageddon campaign books and World Eaters release. It will be good to see more Space Wolf stuff though, as long as it is more Horus Heresy style and less furry crap.

Well, come to think of it, Fulgrim and a new Emperors Children release could actually retcon and reinvent the Slaaneshi appeal. Instead of Sex Drugs and Rock n Roll... They keep the latter two. Noise weapons, combat drugs, bright trippy cartoon colors that GW loves using these days. It's all very plausible.

Seconded. As several have pointed out it would be nice to move a bit a away from the Wolfy mcWolerson, the lone wolf of Wolfgard, wielding a wolf blade and his trusty sidearm “wolfclaw”

Dont wanna be that guy...but fulgrim is also depicted as having wings in a lot of work. Pretty sure perturabo and lorgar arent however.
