Subject: Codex Deamons on the way! (Codex leaks in OP) Updated 5/1 (Warlord Traits in OP)
Hate to be a Fisher, but any drop in Pts on Daemon Princes? Seems strange that a Death Guard flying prince is 32 pts cheaper than the Daemons Nurgle Prince with the same buffs and stats.

He's not. They are supposed to be the same price. Read your FAQs man!

Welcome to 8th Edition FAQs. They're impossible to find, and nowhere to search. He's the same price. It's probably in an Admech FAQ about Space Marines or something, but it's there somewhere.

So what they really changed was the Deamon Prince's weapon costs. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed those in the codex and left the base cost the same for parity across the Warp.

Daemon princes with wings are all 170, and weapons are all 10 points. Across all armies. DG codex left out the entry for daemon prince with wings, so the FAQ added it back in since it was an obvious mistake. That's it.
I'm really happy with the options Daemons have for warlord traits. Personally I'm probably going for the Tzeentch "Reroll to wound rolls of 1 within 9 inches" option, but there's a lot of really nice choices on that list.

Looks like every god is getting a "Boost one Standard held by a unit" stratagem. Nurgle gets a strait damage boost on their weapons, maybe it's the same thing?

Fair enough. I realize now the point for Sword is what threw me off I still don't see where the sword got any cheaper. It will be a no issue in a week, but please, what exactly am I missing in the faqs. Wound characteristic change in one, and the wings added in another.

Keep em coming!
They also confirmed that the Loci only need a detachment to be mono-god in order to gain access to it. AND that Magnus and Mortarion can be deepstruck with the stratagem. Granted, I am not sure if the guy talking is one of the rules writers or not

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

1. 3" To M 2. Reroll fail hit and wound against Char. 3. If warlord charges, add D3 to Attacks until end of ensuing fight phases. (roll D3 after charge) 4. Each time you make a wound roll of 6+ in fight phase. Suffers an additional MW. 5. Add 1 to warlord Attack characteristics. 6. Enemy model -1 attack (min 1) within 6" of your warlord. Does not affect vehicles.
Khorne
1. Each time an enemy unit fails morale within 8" of your warlord, that unit loses 1 additional model. 2. Add 1 to warlord Attack characteristics, if there are more enemy models within 8" of it than friendly models. 3. 6+++ FnP. if you pass the 6+++ FnP, you can reroll all failed hits and wounds until end of your next turn. ( ) 4. +1 warlord Strength 5. Each time ur warlord fights, can make a single attack instead of normal cc attack. Make a single hit roll, if successful, target suffers D3MW. 6. Reroll hits of 1 for friendly Khorne Daemon units that charged this turn and are within 8" of your Warlord when they fight ( )
Tzeentch
1. Add 1 to result of 1st psychic test taken by your warlord. 2. reduce all dmg by 1 (min1 to warlord) 3. reroll failed morale test for friendly tz daemons within 9 of warlord. 4. add 6" to range of first psychic power casted by warlord 5. roll d6, 2+ ignore perils of warp. 6. Nurgle 1. +1 Wound 2. Each time warlord lose Wound in fight phase. 4+ , unit that caused that wound to the warlord , suffers a MW. 3. Your opponent must subtract -1 from all hit roll that target warlord if attacking unit within 7" 4. Add 1 to all wound roll made by warlord in the fight phase unless target vehicle. 5. Warlord got a 4+ save. 6. Roll a dice for each enemy within 1" of warlord at start of your turn. On a 4+, that unit suffers a MW.
So going by complaints I've seen on the Slaanesh FB board (and elsewhere), the feeling is that daemons are already pretty good at killing in melee, and where they suffer most is surviving long enough to get there (or getting there quicker), and just surviving against shooting in general. With these needs in mind, I did a quick categorization of warlord traits:
Most surprising is that Nurgle traits don't have more support options, given how hot for synergy Papa Nurgle is now, but there certainly are the most straight up defensive traits in there. I can also see why Slaanesh players are griping - what they wanted was defense more than anything and got none of it (I don't think +3M is defensive, not in a world with Fall Back and deep strike) - and why Khorne players who want to play against the meta (i.e. me) and not just barrel into combat don't have a lot to hang their lord's spiky hat on.
Buuuuuut at this point I think I'm just going to play my Tizz Daemons anyway, and while those aren't brilliant either (too much psychic buffing that the spell lore isn't good enough to justify), that #6 bubble of wounding is legit af
- Salvage
EDIT
For comparison, here's the BRB ones: 1. Legendary Fighter = Offense 2. Tenacious Survivor = Defense 3. Leadership Something Whatever = Support
And from what I've seen #2 is absolutely the default. In a game where everything dies, being alive is king.

That has been my experience with mono-slaanesh. Daemonettes, Chariots, Fiends, and Keepers of Secrets. Will never get into melee with a unit strength to make a difference. Seekers of Slaanesh currently are the best unit option because they can reasonably charge turn 1 and have enough staying power to survive to turn 2.
Daemonettes suffer compared to nids/orks/guard horde style troops because of their point cost and lack of a morale mechanic like nid/ork/guard causes too many to \daemonettes vanish in moral phase to remain combat viable.
I am kind of disappointed Slaanesh didn't get a stratagem or psychic power to deny overwatch.
