Hey All, this will be the *Official Showcase Thread* for my ongoing space sharks Army. I have a wip blog for it as well but this appears to be a largely different audience and this thread will feature obviously only completely painted works. This army is in effect, the army i wanted when i was 9. The way it would have been if it were 1989. If you have to ask about the green base rims, youre too young. Grey Sharks with the classic scheme and logo. The goal was to paint an easy to reproduce scheme that was low stress, not too time consuming, and still meet a minimum standard of tabletop quality that im happy with. Im pleased so far. I have just reached my first checkpoint of completed models. 2 10 man squads a dread and a captain. The Captain ive shared before here so forgive the same picture being put up, its for the sake of completion, not tryna spam or anything. I will continue to post finished units here, as well as updated photos or whatever in regards to this army. So anyways, love it or hate, Space Sharks baby......

Very nice, have been reading the blog too, the green bases bring back then memories......

They are very well painted, with nice blends, highlights, weathering, and glow effects.

Sadly I am generally not a fan of grey colour schemes; it's too hard to make them interesting. Perhaps using a darker grey, or just pushing the contrasts a lot more, would help. Hard to say.

Really nice work but felt disapointed because of no Rogue Trader minis :( Was hoping for RT retro goodness.

@ flippa sorry for your disappointment. It’s just the RT scheme. Your real dissapointment should be that they are not all beaky helmets...

Nah....ive spent enough money here as it is LOL. This army is not meant to win any awards, i just want a tough group of models that im not too precious with and an over all grey scheme is pretty easy to replicate quickly and look good. (yellow not so much LOL).

I love these guys! Although you say that they've been painted with speed in mind, the glowing areas and battle damage really take things up a notch. Really awesome camo'd Reiver, and brilliant stubble on their faces! (Obviously the Captain is genius enough for a quick tactical shave!)

Also, go green base rims!

That yellow colour scheme is pretty striking!

That's such a bold scheme, and I love how it looks on the Reivers. Nice fusion of 1E and 8E aesthetics.

Great work! The yellow is gorgeous.
But why didn't you paint the skulls on their torsos? It's clearly on purpose, but it looks unfinished to me.

Fresus: They are painted and highlighted as per the same as the rest of the yellow. I did not pick them out per say, on purpose because of the camo. Having painted them anything but yellow would create too much color chaos and too much clutter. Leaving them yellow gave me more freedom with the black camo pattern, furthermore, i dont like the baroque aesthetic of marines so, same with the grey above, i opted for them to look a little bit more military and a little less jewelry wearing space knights.

Nice work. I'm not familiar with the kit, is that grappling hook part of the kit or is it from somewhere else? Or did you scratchbuild it?

And it has rules (ignore vertical movement when charging I think).

Those are by far the BEST painted reivers I have seen.

thank you so much everyone for the kind words of encouragement. The last two yellow reivers are in wip mode so ill post all 10 soon. For now ive also begun to paint the core primaris troops in the classic grey RT scheme to match everything else. Heres the first 3 from the quick build box finished up and ready to play with.
