Compiling addresses is hard because many places can share the same address - such as a block of flats or even a housing estate where the only difference might be the house number and the name. That could be a scalper or it could be a small community that all has people playing the game.

If the only counter is to make product not limited then, of course, the scalper issue goes away entirely; however GW isn't likely to commit to that approach in the long term for their steeply discounted boxes. It doesn't benefit them to basically wash away regular sales with high discount boxes (though they might have been experimenting with that with Wrath and Rapture which is still in stock - however likely hindered by the fact that whilst they are both demon armies they are not able to take each other as allies directly).

Pre-registering might help but surely any scalper would just pre-register and be happy with that; if anything they are more likely to abuse such a system because to them its not hobby money but an investment. Plus GW is releasing stuff every week; they don't "want" to really start tieing up their customers wallets months in advance and then having more live releases that might not make good sales because everyone is spent out on something they don't yet have.

What would be interesting is an actual community survey that gets a rough idea how much stock scalpers actually have to shift (judging by ebay listings) and then compare that to numbers from GW on the actual volume of stock produced and shipped per region. However we are unlikely to get the latter numbers and the former is not totally accurate. It might be that the percentage of scalper sales is low, but it feels higher online where you get a glut of people who don't get a chance to get something complaining and where the only secondhand stock on sale soon after launch is often scalper (and certainly that hwich remains when they are sometimes charging near double the price on half a box)

They may still be traumatised by their leftover stock issues from decades ago. But doing more runs on books would be nice, the regular hardback print of Honourbound, selling out worldwide on day of release in February and not getting another physical release / restock until August comes to mind.

They could certainly order more, but the 6 month turn around actually seems to fit well for the printing of hardbacks in China from what I know from other publishers getting stuff done there so that probably represents them ordering a second run as soon as the first sells out

You're talking like gw cares about where their income comes from.. They clearly don't, and I cant really blame them.
They know people are going to buy their stuff, even when they charge absurdly inflated prices, showing that they really aren't that interested in their customers.

I'm not an economist. I'm not even a business person. I am a consumer though, and your statement brings to mind a conversation I had recently (on this forum) - you seem to take it as given that they can charge whatever they want, and people will pay. Well, the thing is, I won't. In fact, what I did is this - I found an alternate supplier - a "Grey" source, you might say, of GW goods - and I started buying from them instead. I buy a lot from them. I spend several hundred dollars a month, buying from this intermediate source. This is money that could be going to GW - but GW are going with the "They'll pay what we say they pay - MASSIVE MARGINS!" model of business. But this model is not getting my money - I'm giving my money to the "Alternate source - low labour cost, low material cost, low margin, high volume" model. So my question to you is, is the "They pay what we say, massive margins!" model really the best model for them? because it's cost them literally several thousand £/$/Yen from me over the past few years. Maybe it is, IDk, like I say I'm no economist.

If you're talking about copyright infringed models, it probably is the best method for GW, at least while they've got production issues. It sounds like they're running at absolute capacity and are still struggling to keep stuff on shelves. If you're talking about downloaded resource books, then you're downloaded PDF doesn't look nearly as pretty as an A4 hardback, even if the PDF is free.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Most of the titles have been spoiled here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/11/23/angels-for-advent/

Somewhat tempted by this, but €88,- is quite a chunk of money for me.

From the Track of Words twitter:
I’m reading THE COURT OF THE BLIND KING and loving all these bonkers deep-sea myths and legends. I’m now desperate to learn more about the Valay (half squid, half duardin), fungus-maddened allopexes and - especially - squigrays!

I've been excited for "The Court of the Blind King" since we got the cover art previewed way back when, but now I'm even more excited to know what madness lurks below!

Details about the Christmas book promotions and the Advent collection. In addition a note that the next Warhammer Adventures stories are delayed until next year and that the BL is no longer going to ship new prints through the Warp due to such delays.

Amazon was listing Warhammer Adventures #4 as 2020 when Secrets of the Tau was released. But it was nice of them not to tell us why its delayed now, months later I guess.

It’s pretty hit and miss whether black library stuff is mentioned in the preorder previews. None of the stuff that went up this weekend was in last Sunday’s.

The book itself is strangely absent from the list, but there's prices for both the pins and map now, thanks for that. Pins are affordable at least.

Because the book isn’t web store exclusive, I’m guessing.

I find the regimental badges a little frustrating. The idea is fantastic. It any regimental cap badges I’ve ever seen are brass or white metal in colour. Maybe coloured badges are an American thing? Not sure, but personally speaking I think these would have looked way better in an antique brass.

Yeah the yanks have coloured badges, but it's usually only special forces types who wear berets with coloured badges. Their cap badges are normally metal.

Hey now! Don't go whitewashing all of our military's headwear! The army and the Air Force love their adorable little berets with their colorful badges, and unfortunately it's way more pervasive than just special operations. They usually have some colored patch on the beret that the metal device goes on. The Navy and my beloved Corps just wear regular covers, regardless of job/role/specialty.

One of them filthy casuals...

The Sabbat Worlds Crusade is a reimagining of the original 2005 edition

I imagine it’ll be like Liber Chaotica was. Not proper limited edition and there won’t be the usual rush, but seemingly just one print run.
