The Blackjack looks better painted but it's still a crummy pose. It's bad enough they threw a random as hell machete on the T2 Sniper.
The Dire Foes Grunt is awful. Just awful.
Nexus looks good.
HVT looks "Meh".

Shikami getting a second model, complete with options, is kinda mindboggling since it was really unnecessary but cool.
Nisse repack is...well, it's a Nisse repack.

Not many but solid minis except the Kurgat, that is a total flop...

It looks like they're going to spin Japanese into another "Non-Aligned" faction.

It fits with the whole "tease" of them doing something big.

I think the Grunt will look great with a head swap, hopefully it's a separate piece. Either a spare regular female grunt head or one from Statuesque Minis should make it look pretty great.

I'm liking the new Blackjack more and more. It's an odd pose, but I kinda dig the at-rest nature of it, very similar to the Fusilier w/ ML pose. It also has an MG that LOOKS like an MG, not that rediculous boxy gun or stupidly boxy sniper rifle on the original that just look out of place. If I ever get around to assembling and playing my USAriadna, I'd likely convert the sniper profile from this new Blackjack

It will be a separate piece probably, but it will also likely be exceedingly weirdly sculpted so that it will require sculpt work.

Uh, you mean the submachine gun("sidearm") and the T2 Sniper Rifle(most T2 weapons are on Caledonian stuff, FYI, with much of it being on Wulvers)?

Yeah, it's an "at-rest" pose...but it's something that precludes you from ever really wanting to field more than one of a thing. This is what Corvus Belli either does not or refuses to understand. "Generic" poses sell more models than wildly specific poses like this.
Alternate parts sell more models than those without(they bragged about the sales on the Shikami recently, claiming that's why they did a second Shikami) since it is a way to let people feel comfortable having multiples of the same model since they can do different parts to differentiate the models from one another.

Shikami looks nice. Asawira is pinching a loaf. Kandi Lynn is missing her stripper pole Nothing stands out really, good or bad. Except Kandi Lynn looks like the Corporate VIP from the Yasbir-Konstantinos Dire Foes. Same lower half. Recycling is good, m'kay.

I have the old Asawira spitfire. This one does not inspire me to replace the one I have. I do hope to see the Dr. Asawira soon.

Engineers may not be hackers, but they're still specialists. They're still capable of literally hacking a panel.

I remember reading that the designer intended for it to look like he was blocking, so it looks really weird having it do an offensive move. I read it from a 2nd hand source so could be bunk, who knows. Still looks weird. They should have just gone full on action movie and turned it into a slide.

The model concept is still good, but I can't buy it because of that weird pose. The design cues are there from the old Kurgat. Wish they kept the more angular armour on the arms. I will be using my old autocannon Kurgat until they come up with something better.

Apparently bases are for defecating on. So, 33mm bases coming, or maybe 29mm bases?

Thing is, looking at the detail, It is a good concept, but not a good sculpt at all. Pose it better, and fit it on the base and it would be a very good mini. I have hope for the Dr.

JSA has always represented a rogue element within YJ; that's why Yojimbo works for them. What appears to be happening here is less about JSA breaking off from YJ, and more that YJ no longer allowing them to act as autonomous entity and forcing it back into YJ proper. Certain elements will no doubt flee to continue the fight independently, but YJ is likely ceasing to acknowledge the JSA as a legitimate organization within YJ.

If the blackjack is the one previewed today on youtube, I'm right there with you. I'm not keen on the ridiculously large magnum revolver and the barrel of the giant machine gun in the dirt but they don't bother me enough to dislike it overall.

Hmm, hopefully a non-aligned Japanese force doesn't nix the actual JSA while allowing them to spin Japanese Seperatist units like the Kempetai in to its own thing (because it has no place in a non-Japanese list, and only barely makes sense in a JSA list that is pulling double duty as a seperatist faction as well as the StateEmpire force.

But man, if they take Shinobu, Ninja and Keisotsu away from vanilla, then that will be a pretty heavy blow (though I guess one way of fixing Zhanshi is to just force us to take them, not a solution I would have gone with but...).

The gun is resting on the bipod, the barrel isn't actually in the dirt. Still not the smartest way to hold a weapon, but I was much less bothered by it once I noticed that. I far prefer this one to the jerry can with a spigot that the first oone is holding, and it doesn't look difficult to rotate the wrist, clip off the stock and mount the HMG in the right hand. Oversized magnum looks the same or similar enough to the Devil Dog magnum that I kinda like it.

I actually like the new Asawira. I just wish they did some alternate arms to cover the Boarding Shotgun as well, since there's still no model.
