Did you read none of the previous posts at all?

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

Then trust GWs release schedule. They wouldn't have announced the "next three codices" and then put the third one multiple months after the second one.

It's already been almost two months since they announced Deathwatch, Harlequins and Imperial Knights codices at AdeptiCon. We have a firm date of June for both the new edition of Age of Sigmar and the Nighthaunt battletome. I don't see Knights coming until after these releases.

Since they announced something and since they've started actually releasing them is wildly different. Deathwatch came out not too long ago, Harlequins is coming out the 26th, and knights won't be 2-3 months away from now. The company is fully capable of releasing things related to two different games near the same time. Not sure why people don't get that. They've done it before.

And there is nothing to support the claims that just because the three were announced together that they would all come out in short order one after another. The only thing that the 'release schedule' you're going off of is telling us is that Imperial Knights are the next 40K codex. It does not tell us 'when' nor does it tell us how soon after the previous codex we can expect its release.

Right... because when they've done this in the past, and released them all within short order of each other, it meant nothing.

Random internet talk says we wait 3 months, so that must be what it is.

I swear, some people just look for reasons to get upset.

I'm not upset about anything. I'm just saying it's an unrealistic expectation with what we already know and one shouldn't get their hopes up. GW has already told us and that is 'Age of Sigmar - June' and 'Battletome: Nighthaunt - June'. Just because past codices have been released one after another doesn't suddenly make that some sort of rule.

Welcome to DakkaDakka. It's the end of the world when the random internet users start spouting doom and gloom instead of looking at previous patterns. Also again..why don't people think GW will release things for TWO DIFFERENT GAMES in the same month? Especially when they're done that before on many occasions.

Yep, it's going to be soon. Us guardsmen don't get briefings too far in advance because the rigors of combat makes us forgetful, at leas that is what the NCO's say. It would have nothing to do with any form of deficiency in the Departmento Adminstratum. Although not purposely built for warfare like the king of battle Leeman Russ tank we appreciate the efforts of the Nobel Questor Imperialis.

In a van down by the river

Also you have GW's behavior at Warhammerfest. They did not want to talk about the Adeptus Titanicus Warhounds because they are slated for an October release and thus outside of the window that they wanted to talk about. That would be about five months from now. Meanwhile, Adepticon was March 21st, which would seem to indicate that 5 months later (which would be August) would similarly be outside of the release window they want to be talking about and yet the Knights codex was announced.

Sure, since it was late March there's still the early-August option that fits the pattern but given GW's loathing of advance notice of releases (the SoB being a notable exception), five months seems unlikely especially given their previous pattern of codex announcement groups to release schedule. Good news is that the possibilities are very near in time (i.e. - within 14 days) so we'll soon see who gets a healthy serving of crow.

They could pretty easily fit it in. Shadespire sets up for preorder 26 May, or 2 June. Say Knights codex and Castellan up for preorder 2 June, out 9 June. Armigers/Helligers up for preorder 9 June, out 16 June. New Edition of AoS up for Preorder either 2 June or 9 June, release 16 June. Then you still have 2 weeks in June for the new Battletome.

Has there been an entire month without a 40k release since the new edition came out? I don't think there has, despite AoS also getting releases consistently during that period, as well as other things.

No idea why people are assuming they are going to skip two months just as they get into the final stretch.

That's my point. People think this AoS thing is going to be such a huge release. It's basically just a new starter box, a small amount of side boxes, a battletome, the new general's handbook, and maybe some cards and dice. All of which is probably coming in july minus the general's handbook.

That leaves June WIDE OPEN for all sorts of knight related things regardless.

This is sarcasm right? The aos release is a new core rulebook, a generals handbook, a new battletome with a massive number of new kits, at least 5 new kits for stormcast, a new magic supplement with accompanying minis, new plastic scenery, objective markers, and dice all CONFIRMED for June. There is probably a new starter set too.
Also GW is running in store aos painting competitions on the 9th of June.
Ministomp, a notable online retailer said there is no preorder on June 2nd. This is what normally happens the week before a new edition.
GW teased Knights early to give 40k people something to look forward to while all the aos stuff is happening.
GW also followed exactly the same release pattern for the very successful launch of 40k. I imagine they want to do the same again.

The regimental standard ties in closely with 40k releases from an AM point of view. Even necromunda got a tie in, suggesting that imperial knights will be the next 40k update. Maybe concurrent with AOS? Knights are an odd army with big kits.

Most of those new kits are a part one ONE box. GW has a bad habit of releasing them exclusively in said box until much later. The NEW RULEBOOK is available for free and therefore is just the general's handbook. So congrats. That just blew you back down to what I said. GW isn't teasing knights 6 months ahead of time when they teased it alongside two other codices. The new "massive overhaul" of AoS isn't really as big as 8th edition for 40k. It's not going to need it's own private launch. Stop blowing things out of proportion.

Besides, there's nothing saying this won't spill into july instead of taking up all of June. If their 40k previews were something to go on, they still have a few more weeks until launch. They seem to like covering a good deal of the armies and changes before release. So expect some of it later on even if it's key to the new addition. Just take the Overlords, Death Watch, and Deepkin releases as examples of key units coming out multiple weeks later.

I think you're being overly optimistic here, the sigmar release will undoubtedly be several weeks, they've shown more than 1 boxes worth of stuff.

Nothing stops simultaneous release with knights of course, a book and what 3-4 boxes max fits nicely into 2 weeks and wouldn't be too much alongside the generals handbook one week and maybe a battle tome + character the next.

Knights should be this weekend. Kill Team is apparently going to come out during the AoS flood to keep 40kers happy.

GAMA was 14 March, so the 3 month rule for releases (and everything else from GAMA has been released) means it should drop in the next 4 weeks.

I assume he means up for preview this weekend. As far as to how many weeks the AoS 2.0 stuff will take, it's hard to say. Remember deepkin was like 5 weeks for some reason

Overlords were like five weeks for no reason too. GW REALLY likes to drag things out lately.

Also apologies if I sound like some blind faith idiot. I'm just reading patterns to try and predict similar behaviour. If I'm wrong, well that sucks. The point is they're coming out at some point soon and the doom and gloom sucks butts.

The rumour I heard was that Overlords and especially Deepkin were spread out so much because of production issues not as part of a deliberate release strategy.
