It's a Hachette product, not GW, so the marketing push will come from Hachette. In the UK, it was heavily advertised on TV, for example. Any publicity from GW was secondary, and fairly minimal.

Well, at least for Australia and Spain (and also the UK Version in the beginning) it was featured on Warhammer Community page... I assumed that this would follow as well for German variant.

If the German one was the trial run, that wasn't featured on Warhammer Community. It was only once the full thing launched that there was any coverage.

The marketing for these is an initial TV advert followed by the first four issues getting promoted in newsagents. After that they rely on subscribers or standing orders with shops (ie asking the shop to order each issue for you specially).

This one is a little different in that there's a lot of people trying to cherry-pick individual issues, but the constant moaning about stock levels shows that that isn't an intended major sales channel for these partworks.

Well... I'm going to keep my eyes more opened when walking by the next newsagents.

If the majority of the Conquest models are ones you don't have but do want, you could stress the savings over buying individually from GW.

Plus the plastic comes in a variety of colours......

Have any Aussie subscribers received their first delivery yet?

I placed a subscription 3 weeks ago, and my credit card was charged 1 week ago. Still, no notifications or deliveries yet. According to the Conquest website, they don't charge you until they dispatch. I'm in metro Melbourne, so surely delivery wouldn't take a whole week?

I received my "we've processed your order" email, but they said it could take up to 28 days for delivery, and it's not been two weeks yet, so still waiting (impatiently ).

Interestingly, the subscriber code looks to be the order in which you subscribed. So I know there are at least another thousand Australians who are probably also waiting. (I wonder if that number has grown much since then?)

I've cancelled my subscription now. Too much plastic building up. The last order sent and charged me for another binder too which annoyed me. No option to opt out. I'm lucky because I work near Forbidden Planet so i can pop in and pick up the issues I like (hopefully). I expect I will get one more monthly delivery because of the 30 days notice needed.

Mine was cancelled immediately when I did it. Along with Cheque refund for the binder I didn’t want.

My problem now is I’m still awaiting for 23 onwards to actually arrive.
They said 23-26 has been resent twice, after each time I query them saying I haven’t got it.
Spoke to them today and they said “we'll check with warehouse to see where the other two were sent, and will manually resend again” so that’s three replacements sent all not turning up along with the original.
I just don’t think the replacements were ever sent. First went missing and when I queried it, it got forgotten or She thought He did it etc, something and basically they didn’t resend on the 23rd and 30th, and now 12th April. As that’s crazy if none ever came..

My local had 4 copies of #1 the other day. I haven't been back in to check for #2 yet. I had to reeeeeeeeeeeally hold off on pick up one or two of the first issue. All that stuff for that price was damn irresistible. However I just don't need that many pots of blue and gold or Intercessors. I may pick up an extra copy of the ETB plague marines though as I have loyalist conversion ideas for them.

You and me both. I'm hoping they just leave it on the doorstep if it doesn't fit in the letterbox. I'd really rather not have to walk all of two minutes down to the local post office to pick it up.

If that's the case then I got in early. Really early. Which would seem odd, considering I held off subscribing for 2 or 3 days.

I haven't got mine yet, although I only subbed on the 2nd of April. So i'm looking at at least until the end of the month before I realistically get mine. I haven't checked though to see if i've been billed for mine yet though.

For those in the UK, what are the magazines actually like once you start getting to numbers like 8, 15, 20+ etc? I'm weighing up the magazines, and a lot of them have good value for the cover price, a lot of them don't - so it'll depend on the quality/content fo the actual mag.

It is basically entry level stuff in terms of background in the first bit of the magazine, construction and basic painting guide in the middle and rules/playthroughs and missions in the back. They build up the rules slowly, some are missing proper rules to start then they add them in a granular fashion. After issue 10 or so you start to get stats for the units you have gotten. I do not think that a painter/ player of your experience would get that much out of it, YMMV.

Further to that if you have the free time to poke about on YouTube there are a few channels that do up to date issue reviews.

Yeah I have 4 of issue 1 and 3 of issue 2 from various newsagents. There looks to be only 1 blight launcher in the plague marines boxset so I'll end up with 4 this way. Plus I'll have more bodies to kitbash into unique poses later. Will try to have no duplicate posed marines eventually.
When I was buying extra copies in the second week of issue 1 I did notice some donkey-caves had actually stolen the sprues at 2 newsagents... So I didnt feel as guilty buying my issue 2s the day they came out.

Utter pricks. This is how things get messed up for the rest of us. Some bellend pinches a few copies then the newsagent will stop ordering them in.

Background - if you already know the background there's nothing new, I think. Personally I don't own Codex Space Marines or Codex Death Guard, so it's interesting. Rules - the first fifteen or so issues build up the rules step-by-step introducing new untis and rules concepts as you go along. After that, you get the core rules booklet and the issues start including proper datasheets (although without points values) for the units you'll have up to that point.

Basically, the content is aimed at new entrants to the game and setting. Anyone in this forum isn't the target audience.

If anyone gets issue 33, can you please tell us if it has two or just one sprue.

I’d hazard a guess it’ll be one sprue. It only shows the contents of one on the front.

The plasma conduits right?
Is it a two Sprue set, as it comes across two issues.

Just checked the back of 32, it only shows the contents of one sprue again.

The Plasma Conduit sprues look like these:-

The magazine image like this:-

I'm assuming its both sprues, because it would be impossible to build what is shown on the front cover with just one sprue. You need the bullet shaped shrine like bit from the left sprue, but also the ground supports from the right hand sprue. Likewise you'd need six long sections, which would require both sprues (since each long bit on the sprue is only a half). Issue 34 meanwhile, is more Nurgle stuff.

If anyone has an image which would seem to contradict the above though, please do upload it.

Sorry I forgot it is two sprues x2 in the box. What I meant was those two above, is there two of those.

I have not seen anything in the leaks to say that it has two slots to spread over. There is only one slot for the conduits.

Just bought last two copies from Bluewater WHSmiths - can confirm it's both sprues as per your image Ketara

As an FYI, Smiths also had an older edition (28?) with the Chaos Rhino upgrade sprue

I picked a magazine up today and it also has the sprue just like that. Kind of tempted to get another magazine for the sprue as the piping looks cool. I'm really more interested in the terrain than the models at this point.
