Regarding editioning up I'd say that the Chapter Approved is their new edition format. So instead of 8th and 9th edition I think we are now seeing Warhammer 40k 2018, Warhammer 40k 2019, and so on.

I can believe that...When either CA ups in price or comes in new shiny box with new starter models.

For once, I want everything in the box, so assuming the price is reasonable, I will be picking up one or two boxes!
My only criticism is that the majority of units are not new sculpts. It would have been nice to see alternate Immortals, Magos Dominus or Skitarii.

I just need the Armigers, so I'll just pick them up from resellers or someone who bought the box for other stuff.

Yeah, a friend of mine and I are trying to start a new club, I'm planing on picking up a couple. I want the knights for a future army, same for the admch, and the necrons are going to form a lender army.

I'm not interested in those armies and nor I am in having a skirmish. I also have too many models to paint and some other things to buy in my 40k wishlist.

Since they confirmed these are lords of war, I will probably not get any of these kits. Kind of disappointed.

Thinking about my pile of grey, I actually probably won't get it, just the mini-knights off ebay for cheap.

$160 seems a bit too steep for what they're putting in there, shame.

$113 retail for the Necron side. $75 for the AdMech.

That's $188 retail, not counting the Cryptek(who will probably be $25 or so solo) and the Armigers(who are shaping up to maybe be $75 on the outset).

I am planning to get it, provided I can get enough money. I have been wanting to start both AdMech and Necrons.

It looks like it's more supplemental material for the Necron side and hopefully it will have some good synergy between the two.

AdMech seems to be intended to be aimed at players who ran all Knights last edition rather than AdMech players. Armigers are LoWs themselves so a single Knight plus the AdMech side of Forgebane gives you a Superheavy Detachment(Knight+2 Armigers) and a Patrol Detachment(Dominus+Skitarii).

Not sure on the Necron side. I'm guessing you're looking at something similar for two small Detachments.

Last nite at our gaming group a buddy & I are gonna split it, he wants necrons and I want Armigers.

I'm actually liking the Admech more & more. it kinda gives me a backdoor excuse to buy a FW knight and warhound titan.

It is quite sad but the only reason that might incline me NOT to buy it are the knight... I think they are not attractive as models

you'll proably be able to recoup a good percentage of your costs by ebaying them though

I've got a Necron player lined up to take the half I don't want, and I suspect getting the Armigers later is going to be a lot more expensive.

I'm really looking forward to this but will depend on the price of course. I'm interested to see how they price it as it doesn't contain the big hardback like DI does, and although the units included are obviously more elite, there isn't many of them. If it's 120 blips like DI, then I'll have to find someone to split it, if it ends up being around 80 lids, I may find myself collecting two more armies

Indications are that it's $160, same price as Dark Imperium.

As mentioned before; $113USD for the Necron side discounting the new character and $75 USD for the AdMech discounting the Armigers. Box basically pays for itself splitwise.

Isn't the "new character" just a new model for the Cryptek?

It's a whole new loadout, much like the Ethereal on Hover Drone.

Yeah, they specifically call out the Cryptek as having a new piece of wargear. Depending on the details, he might be highly in demand.

I'm splitting at least one box with a friend. I'm keeping the ad mech side. I need skitari bodies to make secutarii hoplites with, and mini knights will look nice with my porphoryion, warden, paladin, and styrix!

Just gonna buy a couple of armigers during the most competitive and low-priced phase of the splitting up/reselling frenzy that will inevitably occur.

Looks like a decent set, but I have zero interest in either army, so have no plans on picking it up.

Beyond that, it's also a lot more customizable and visually interesting. The Lychguard kit can be built as two units with two loadouts each. The Immortal kit has a bunch of options as well. Most people have a lot of Wraiths, but they are very nice looking models. If I was starting a Necron army, I would definitely grab this set. I'm actually thinking if I shouldn't get one box and another necron half off ebay because these kits are so good. The only thing holding me back and making me reconsider is that my pile of shame has roughly 100 models on it at the moment.

This is probably what I'll do too. Single boxed armiger from GW is probably going to cost like Start Collecting Tau Crisis Suits vs. single boxed Crisis suits.

Splitting the box with a friend - I add to my AdMech, he starts Necrons. FLGS will sell it for 20% off, so a good deal all round.

If I wasn't splitting the box, I'd still buy it for myself

Question for those splitting the box- what is the ratio of the split? It looks like the Ad Mech side has more value than the Necron side.

Necrons - $113 + Cryptek = 145 AM - $75 + Armigers = 185

I'm guessing the cryptek around 30 and the Armigers around 55@. All prices $US MSRP
