So what you’re saying GW shouldn’t patch an obviously broken build because one group in the world houseruled the missions?

Or you’re saying people didn’t use Flyrant spam, Poxhorde and Dark Talon spam in the US because of the ITC (instead of just being behind the curve)?

My point? Flyrant spam being on the radar NOW when it’s nearly April is hilarious.

It's been on the radar the whole time. Just look at the tyranid tactics thread at codex release. Everyone knew it was the best unit in the codex and that MRC are an auto include because they are suprisingly free. Everyone knew then that spamming them would produce good results.

Except up until Adepticon it wasn't producing good results. That's the point.

Do we know why it wasn't producing good results? These "oh the objectives didn't favor them" doesn't really make any sense to me. When you can crush your opponent with a whole army deepstrike "objectives" don't really come into play.

End of game scoring, Kill Points being a secondary, terrain rules.

I would say "the actual missions," i don't know if you should conflate rules and missions.

I didn't know the bottom floor of ruins always blocking LOS was a mission rule!

ITC gives you the flexibility to win without focusing on killing your opponent. My current list wins, not because it kills the opponent very well, but because it holds objectives, controls the board, and bullies where i need to bully.

I would get rolled by Flyrant spam in Adepticon, and laugh at it in ITC.

I predict a nerfing of my favored Oblits (of which I have been using in place of Tanks since 5th edition).

Theres no question that Oblits are amazing, but the FAQ is almost guarenteed to not have major point changes. So theyre probably safe..until 2018 CA ;D

The Pts are fine. Im thinking their weapons will be turned to Heavy instead of Assault, which would only cut down their Alpha strike. Seems reasonable (as long as I can still use my Feculent Gnarlmaw with them ).

I could see Obliterators becoming simply Assault 3 instead of Assault 4. While they're good, I don't find them game-breaking good (but I also don't run six squads of them).

Top one we came up with at a mini tourney over the weekend was this simple adjustment

Make all aura buffs require the entire unit to be within it or pick one unit if partially within.

Only allow a unit to benefit from one stratagem a phase.

That'd probably imo sort a lot of 40k out

I think it depends on the aura. Guilliman's reroll everything aura is absurd and should be by model definitly, but its a far cry from an aura that rerolls 1s in the Shooting phase.

Results in the US*
Multiple reports from high representation and wins in the UK.
During LVO players from the UK were already saying that Flyrant spam was a counter to Dark Reapers (ICT however does not favor Tyrants due to secondaries).

As long as they remember tournaments are only one of the three ways to play and don't let that scene dictate the game. Those tyranid lists are just silly.

What, are they supposed to balance around "bring whatever you want" Open Play? Or Narrative play?
