I think that's what I want to see too. But I think GW may find making more Forgebane style boxed sets is more profitable than just updating models by themselves. Why sell a $25 Cryptek when you can bundle it into a $160 set for the first year or so and (as far as I can tell) sell quite well?

My reasoning for this is I think my Ad-mech could use a couple niche items, HQs, a Transport of some sort.
But I am well aware that armies I don't play still have a lot of their lines in resin.
I'd rather have the dang "scout" moves back for the Skitarii than a transport added in, if I'm going to be honest. If we have to get a transport? I'd like it to be a Flyer rather than some kind of ground vehicle. Hell, I'd even be down for some kind of teleporter rig as a Fortification rather than just there being "Look here's a tank!".
There's definitely room for a few HQs though. Skitarii Cohort Commanders top my list of "do wants". Give them a rule where when you perform the Doctrina Imperative Stratagems, you roll a D6 and can get Command Points back for 'em. I'd love for them to release a bunch of profiles for non-Martian characters and guides as to how to convert them up, but that's a pipe dream and way down on my list of things.
An Onager variant with some kind of indirect fire weapon would be ace as well. I've long had a bit of wishlisting for something the size of an Armiger to be added to the AdMech, but the idea I had was that it 'spawned' servo-skulls not unlike the Biovore and its Spore Mines.
Not having a transport was what attracted me to the army in the first place, but I don't expect GW to return that rule

I would like to see admech tanks.
Tank-tanks, with an aesthetic similar to the Ordinatus.
I don't think we'll see that, though.

And I'd like loads of scenarios, narrative missions to play. They can do both via campaign books.

To be honest, all of the above. I'm less worried about updating too many finecast or metal kits, since there's just so many characters or one-off models that I don't see making a ton of money if they're updated. Things like Grotesques, the odd Techmarine or other random character just doesn't warrant a plastic kit that's not going to sell well.
However, things like Eldar are really suffering from having way too many old kits. Eldar, Orks, and Chaos Marines have some of the oldest kits still in circulation and they need some love.
I do also think that some factions need some extra options. AdMech, Harlequins, a bunch of the other tiny factions still don't have much in the way of HQ options, transports, fliers, or other things, though these things can often be fixed by allying.
And finally, I'd love to see new factions. Xenos Mercs stands out as a big one, along with giving other factions the detail that predecessors have gotten, like World Eaters and Emperor's Children getting the same update that Death Guard and Thousand Sons have gotten.
We'll see what happens, but GW likely has things planned out for a long time. This year has given a lot of people what they wanted out of the hobby and I get the feeling that GW are just getting started with 8th edtion.

Could be 6th or 7th. That would be WAY worse.
I prefer new units come next. Several of the smaller factions could definitely use filling out some. Dark Angels and Blood angels could do with some expanded options for their unique unit types. Admech could do with a few more options. Harlequins, deathwatch, and Tsons could use more stuff. Sisters of silence, imperial agents, genestealer cults all could benefit from new stuff.
Sisters need at least a deathguard size release but would be better served with an even larger one.
Once we have proof that the subfactions aren't going to languish then they should update the kits that really really need it like aspect warriors.

Refreshed kits and balance updates. They are leaving so much money on the table by having so many kits with garbage rules.

This is probably because there are enough sales of those units that they don't care urgently about that sort of thing. There are plenty of people that will buy a kit because it looks cool, they want to make an army around it, or just because they think it would be fun to build/paint. There are also plenty of players that are not competitive that don't care about netlists, and that just play around with their buddies in a garage or game room.
More balanced rules would be great, of course, but I don't see GW hiring a rules writing think tank and spending thousands of man hours testing every possible configuration of points, rules, weapons, and other stats just so that Swooping Hawks sell better.
Instead, they just release a shiny new kit and people flock to it like pigeons to a french fry feast. Case in point: The armiger warglaive. I saw people buying STACKS of Forgebane boxes, JUST for the armiger. Imperial Knights facebook pages are rife with people building and painting not just two, but sometimes up to 10 of those little warglaives.
But, after just a short round of playtesting, it's clear that the armiger is kind of crappy. It's a sink of points, not very tough, and doesn't help shore up the weaknesses in the Imperial Knights army.
People are still buying them up though.

My belief is that they will start releasing Campaign books and each campaign book will have new units if possible. This way they can add interesting stories and battles while enlarging existing rosters. It's what they did in the end of 7th with decent success.

Ehhh, I mean, I think we all overestimate the value of rules for sales somewhat. Obviously when something goes from useless or middling to top tier, it sells out crazy fast, but not every unit that gets improved is going to get improved enough to crowd out another good unit people already own.
For example, if they buff up the Stormtalon to be just as good, point for point, as a Stormraven, but everyone who plays space marines with flyers already owns Stormravens, why would they buy the new improved Stormtalon? At that point the only real reason is still 'because they like the Stormtalon better'.
TL: DR, however much money you think GW is losing with bad rules, cut in half.

I want Lion El'jonson for my Dark Angels. However, failing that, I'd go along with everyone saying they want updates to some old kits. Plastic Aspect Warriors, a proper plastic CSM Havocs kit, an actual plastic non-Terminator Chaos Lord kit (although it'll probably be one of those monopose jobs that no one likes), a new kit for Khorne Berzerkers, just to name a few of the ones I've heard mentioned here and elsewhere.

I'd like GW to sit down, take a hard look at the game, try to fix underperforming armies, and try and get more kits up to date. I don't want them to throw things out of whack with new content or large rules changes while plenty of existing content needs attention; they've spent many years putting themselves in an impossible position by pulling the rug out from under themselves balance-wise with an edition change every time they finish updating everything and needing to start over, I want them to sit down and finish fixing everything that exists now before blowing it all up.

I voted new units, but what I really want is an 8th ed badab book from forgeworld with a bunch of new 40k space marine stuff and a return of the raptors decal sheet. And a friend with a large astral claws, lamenters, mantis or executioners army, but sadly one hasn't materialised.
I'd also take an updated Taros campaign.

I'd first like to see balance patches, and preferably not just "make it cheaper". Don't be afraid to buff certain ubiquitous units instead of just relegating everything to the level of guardsman hordes (see Space Marines - actually make them worth more than guardsmen).
Unfortunately, I know that this wouldn't be what GW would do because making units cheaper just encourages people to buy more.
In other respects, I'd prefer armies that lack in areas get new units to fill gaps in their organisation (ie some kind of captured psyker creature for the DE and a psychic auxiliary for the T'au, a transport for the AdMech, Skitarii commanders, more SoS units, a cheaper Primaris vehicle, grot snipers, etc etc. I'd also like armies with static HQ models especially to be multipart kits (Ork Warbosses and Dark Eldar Archons) and updating certain underdeveloped kits (Aspect Warriors, most of the CSM infantry line, etc etc).
I'd rather not add any new armies or supplement rules, just first focus on getting everyone on a level playing field, fill in certain gaps in armies, and encourage more multipart plastic kits for monopose/outdated kits, in that order.

That should probably come after they update all of the models to plastic.
A faction of necrons subservient to C'tan would be nice. That would give oldcron fans something to be happy about.
Its not as if they wouldn't have the same variation of dynasties; they could easily make it so that each C'tan master molds the necrons under his control in his image.
As there are thousands of shards, there would in theory be thousands of possible variations.
