IMO it's more lack of judgement rather than experience. There has been many a POTUS who's first job in politics was their nation's highest office.

Now I am not saying that an investigation shouldn't exist in the interest of making the nation less susceptible to foreign cyber manipulation on social media. That is not what this is though. It's primary focus in the first couple of months should have been to clear Trump as he is the POTUS. It is extremely unhealthy to conduct an investigation like this with the looming assumption by huge numbers of the population that Trump is going to be found guilty.

The irony here, is that if Trump just sat on his hands and stayed quiet, it would have been over quickly, and he would most likely have been cleared. His lack of forethought, loud mouth, and twitter account is ultimately what got us to where we are today, and is a huge part of what makes him look guilty.

Any possible attempt to "cheat" your way into our nations highest office should be investigated to the fullest amount possible, in order to both bring justice to all that are deserving of it, and to learn how to prevent this from happening in the future. If Mueller found something incriminating, hes not going to reveal it until he is positive that everything is in the open. You don't cut out the first tumor you see and walk away, you keep studying until you know how far the cancer has spread.

Like I said, maybe Trump is clean as far as this incident goes. If he is, then the issue is shut, once and for all.

You know very well that Trump can't keep his mouth shut. His nature is always to attack when threatened. Can you honestly blame him? 2 Years of constant investigation producing nothing linking him in any kind of conspiracy. This is the CIA/DOJ/FBI - they have unlimited resources....If they havn't found anything incriminating yet - they never will.

You're spilling kool-aid on the carpet mate, other people have already gone over how that's factually incorrect and how long comparable investigations have gone on. It's a refuted talking point.

Freaking nonsense man...everything is faster today. Computers are faster. Databases are faster. It's a joke to compare 20-30 years ago to today in regards to data collection.

And bad guys have another 30 years tech to hide their tracks. Faster computers and all.

The official investigation into the whole collusion bit started 14 months ago, so its hardly been 2+ years. Plus the slight setbacks of having to replace the director of the FBI because Trump fired him, and having to fold multiple investigations into this one because not only is there dirt on involved parties, but its collective dirt in the sense they are all involved in this as well.

Edit: Grammar

There were investigations right away once this started. FBI and CIA alike and this was when the issue was hot - which is when you are going to solve a crime - not years after. They found evidence of what we already known. Plus from what we know - there is no reason to assume anything else. Russia attacked with facebook ads, trolls on fourms, hacking emails, and spreading false information. They had no reason to directly correspond with the trump campaign. Just think about how many possible leaks that could create to expose them? Russian aren't stupid - they never were.

And yet, basically everyone on the trump campaign had Russian contacts, accepted Russian money, or were involved in other shady gak (such as trying to set up secret meetings with Russians). You're also glossing over the actual hacking of the voting system (i.e. voter registration) in your list of what Russians did, along with the rallies they organized.

On top of that, how do you know there's nothing? Because you haven't personally been briefed by Mueller? Because His investigation isn't a fething sieve like trump's administration when it comes to information?

I hadn't heard of any voter registration interference. Were there people that actually couldn't vote because of it? Of so that is very serious. In fact it's all the dems should talk about - it sounds like BS though - prove me wrong. It's absolutely insane to suggest that people in the trump campaign have accepted money from Russians and they aren't already in jail or at this point - or spilled the beans on the whole operation if their was one. The truth is they have no evidence or it would be presented to the people - there is 0 reason to keep this kind of evidence from the people because all it would do is cause more people to spill beans to avoid jail time (once everyone knew the jig was up). Also - having contacts with Russians is not illegal or even shady. Americans can talk and have meetings with who ever the feth they want. Heck I've even corresponded with some Chinese people - LOCK ME UP RIGHT NOW.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/01/us/politics/russia-election-hacking.html

http://time.com/4865982/secret-plan-stop-vladimir-putin-election-plot/

And there is actually plenty of reason, it prevents people from panicking and attempting to destroy evidence of their collusion. As for the Russian money, did you completely ignore Rick Gates? Or Manafort? And having contacts with Russian Oligarchs AND people close to Putin while running for president is incredibly shady, even more so when you're trying to get Russians to give you dirt on a political opponent.

Yeah, we're getting into General Grant territory, but at least Grant won the civil war and saved his nation.

While he does deserve that credit because he was the right man for the job. He was a terrible general and a drunk. He got the job done by doing what needed to be done - attacking well defensed positions with huge loss of life to be expected on both sides - a job almost no one wanted to be responsible for.

LOL nice buzz phrase.
So lets just get this straight? He wasn't the right man for the job - even though several Union generals failed to take important objectives before Grant became general? He wasn't a drunk - even though he was a very heavy drinker his whole life? Lots of officers wanted to be responsible for killing their own kin in the most brutal type of warfare? Probably giving him a hard time on being a bad general just because he mad a lot of mistakes in battle and had a really weak history leading up to that.

On moon miranda.

Lets leave retreading civil war generalship to another thread.

In the meantime, we have Pruitt's resignation letter to Trump.

Mr. President, it has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. Truly, your confidence in me has blessed me personally and enabled me to advance your agenda beyond what anyone anticipated at the beginning of your Administration. Your courage, steadfastness and resolute commitment to get results for the American people, both with regard to improved environmental outcomes as well as historical regulatory reform, is in fact occurring at an unprecedented pace and I thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the American people in helping achieve those ends.

That is why it is hard for me to advise you I am stepping down as Administrator of the EPA effective as of July 6. It is extremely difficult for me to cease serving you in this role first because I count it a blessing to be serving you in any capacity, but also, because of the transformative work that is occurring. However, the unrelenting attacks on me personally, my family, are unprecedented and have taken a sizable toll on all of us.

My desire in service to you has always been to bless you as you make important decisions for the American people. I believe you are serving as President today because of God’s providence. I believe that same providence brought me into your service. I pray as I have served you that I have blessed you and enabled you to effectively lead the American people. Thank you again Mr. President for the honor of serving you and I wish you Godspeed in all that you put your hand to.

Your Faithful Friend,

Scott Pruitt

Does...does anyone else read this as, well, disturbing?

Pruitt is all but fellating Trump here, literally calling him God's chosen. This entire thing is "Trump, you're so great!".

I mean, I'm going through other cabinet level resignation letters that I'm able to find, but none of them read anything like this...most of them talk about the initiatives or specific goals they've accomplished, how great the people under them are, how hard they work, how important the mission of their organization is, etc.

But no, this is all just..."Trump". It's not even "it was an honor to serve the country", it is very specifically "it was an honor to serve You (trump)".

The South lost because they had an inferior force - it's really that simple. Grant followed Lincolns orders which was to attack and burn everything to the ground. Battles often described as meatgrinders...Don't confuse me for some kind of confederate sympathizer - I am very happy with the over outcome of the civil war. I just said Grant wasn't a very good general. I did say he was the "right" general though.

The question is, what institutions are in place to lead tot he end of "Hollowed Out" parties? I do not know the answer to this question.

The GOP have signed up to crony capitalism, and have abandoned the small to medium sized business which were their backbone for a long, long time...

I don’t know Pruitt’s personal branch of Christianity.

But reading that letter, and thinking about how much he seems to think that God personally picked and elevated Trump and Pruitt to those offices, I would not be surprised if there was some sort of prosperity gospel background in his faith.

Having a “God wants me to be rich and personally benefit from his blessing” belief mixed with a “God personally picked me to be the head of the EPA for His POTUS” belied just feels like it would explain so many of Pruitt’s actions.

This only makes sense if you are working from the assumption, that the investigation is a complete fabrication for political purposes - a witch hunt, if you will.
In that case every single detail uncovered (and even unverified ones), is released for political capital immediately.

Now, if you assume that this is an actual investigation, you get....well, pretty much what the Special Counsel is doing.
Clamp up, gather evidence, flip the underlings, get to the heart of the matter, and finally present it in court.

What is the one thing all investigators, law enforcement officials and lawyers always say?
"I cannot comment on the specifics of an ongoing investigation".

Evidence isn't presented to the people (as in; the public) - it is presented to the court.

Here is a list of "evidence" (unsupported statements) presented to the people (ie, their ignorant uncritical supporters) by various channels (including the President himself);

- Hillary knowingly and deceitfully mishandled 30.000 Top Secret e-mails
- Hillary sold 20% of US' uranium to Russia
- Obama wiretapped Trump in Trump Tower
- Hillary was the cause of Benghazi
- Michelle Obama is actually a man
- Deep State operatives illegally unmasked American citizens
- A lot of Democrats are pedophiles, that had secret meetings in a pizza parlour
- Barack Obama isn't an American
- The Nunes Memo proves that the DOJ abused FISA warrants
- The Steele Dossier has been completely disproven
- Europe is falling apart due to rampant crimes caused by immigrants
- Obama is the father of ISIS
- Hillary would have started WW3 with Russia over Syria
- Democrats wants to allow everybody (and especially "Muslim terrorists") into the US - with no vetting whatsoever.
- Obama gave millions to Iran to support terrorism
- CNN was raided by the FCC for deceiving the American public
- Hillary has had several people killed because they "knew too much"
- Nancy Pelosi was arrested by the Secret Service for an attempted coup against the US President.

An innocent man would welcome an investigation, as he knows that he will be politically bullet proof when he is exonerated.
A guilty man.......acts like President Trump does.

It is a 'read history' post. Clearly you don't even know what Venona was.

Russia/Soviet Union has been messing with our govt for generations. To be sure, it has been reciprocal. Have they updated the 'how' they go about it? Yes. But has the scale or efficiency really been increased? Frankly, we do not know.

Go back and read the article in the PDF I linked to, it goes into detail about some of the methods used in the 2016 election.

As for excusing the 'widespread and blatant interference', what would you of had Obama do about it? Should he have taken us to war over it? What options do you think he should have exercised?

Wow, just...wow. Like you said, that letter is all about him serving Trump, with no mention of the country or its people. I'm really just speechless at the language used. D-usa, earlier I said I was sorry Pruitt will be rejoining you in Oklahoma. That was a vast understatement. I would offer you sanctuary in Texas, but we are currently stuck with Ted Cruz, so it may not be enough of an improvement.

I can honestly see where Obama doing anything would have just resulted in people claiming that he is finally undoing democracy by interfering with democracy to deny Trump his win, appoint Hillary as his Medvedev, and be a Putin style puppet master.

And that is part of the issue (and important to how Russia and China are playing). They very intentionally pursue 'competition below the threshold for conflict' and we are not so good at the game yet. Obama knew in 2015 Putin and crew were fething around, yet they kept it below the threshold where Obama would be willing (or forced) to do anything meaningful to stop it.

Here is a list of "evidence" (unsupported statements) presented to the people (ie, their ignorant uncritical supporters) by various channels (including the President himself);

Most the stuff on fox news is fake as heck. Trump tower was being "wire tapped" though. Though there is no evidence it was ordered by Obama. There was a FISA warrant on a Russian bank in trump tower by the FBI . tower.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_Tower_wiretapping_allegations#Surveillance_of_Trump_associates
This wiki claims there is doubt that Trump knew about this warrent when he made the tweets though it is entirely possible he did. If he did though - those statements by Trump were totally justified.
When Comey spoke about his finding from hillary's email server.
https://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/statement-by-fbi-director-james-b-comey-on-the-investigation-of-secretary-hillary-clinton2019s-use-of-a-personal-e-mail-system
"Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.
For example, seven e-mail chains concern matters that were classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level when they were sent and received. These chains involved Secretary Clinton both sending e-mails about those matters and receiving e-mails from others about the same matters. There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position, or in the position of those government employees with whom she was corresponding about these matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation. In addition to this highly sensitive information, we also found information that was properly classified as Secret by the U.S. Intelligence Community at the time it was discussed on e-mail (that is, excluding the later “up-classified” e-mails).
None of these e-mails should have been on any kind of unclassified system, but their presence is especially concerning because all of these e-mails were housed on unclassified personal servers not even supported by full-time security staff, like those found at Departments and Agencies of the U.S. Government—or even with a commercial service like Gmail."
Comey stating Hillary was extremely careless with Classified information and fully aware of what she was doing. However he also states later no "reasonable prosector" would prosecture her. In any case - entirely neglent behavior from Senator Clinton.

Also I can't find an article but in regaurds to syrian refugee imigration. I seem to remember some very important officials stating that ISIS not only could infiltrate the country through imigration but said it was actaully very likely. To some people like me....we found that extremely concerning.

Others have said that in any other administration, Pruitt's expense tomfethery would be the subject of bi partisan investigation.

Hillary Clinton was not in charge of the Obama Administration. Barack Obama was.

Of course, since he wasn't eligible for election, this bogus scandal was pointed someplace more politically useful.

Honestly I thought it would never happen at this point. I mean, in any other administration, he would have been gone many, many months ago, but no other administration had "stigginit" as a core driving principal.

Someone obviously sat down and talked to Trump because he's suddenly become something vaguely approaching not politically suicidal these past two-three weeks.
