Maybe him doing something similar to what he did to Lady Malays and ‘lose’ to Jagthai in a race or something

Not that this is what happened to him but I think it would make a Interesting story l

What do you guys think?

I imagine that Jaghtai has been running around in circles for ten thousand years because Cegorach has him trapped in some kind of webway loop.

Why would he do that

...So he had a Primarch in reserve that he could dump into a random battle at some unspecified future point?

the problem with that theory is if the eldar had a Primarch conveniantly sitting in the webway just ready to let lose, why'd they bother with Gulliman?

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Because the Eldar aren't a hive mind and Cegorach may disagree with Yvraine about the best way to proceed?

Also because of all the Primarchs, Guilliman is the one who can best unify the Imperium. Sure, the other loyalists would form a great rallying point and leader, but Guilliman's influence via the Codex Astartes and his widespread sucessor chapters gives him a ready made armada that are utterly loyal to him, whereas Russ or Corax or Khan could only guarentee a few dozen chapters (or 1 in Russ' case) would follow them unconditionally.

Guilliman also has the infrastructural intellect to manage governing a whole Empire as a de facto Imperator Secundus. Of all the Primarchs, he alone had the aptitude to revolutionise and modernise not just the planet he landed on, but form relations, trade and travel links with many neighbouring worlds. During the Great Crusadd he managed a realm of 500 systems of objectively superior upkeep and infrastructure than anywhere else, and persecuted the Crusade all the while. Who better is qualified to run an Empire of 1,000,000 while also persecuting a Crusade across the galaxy? Arguably more qualified than the Emperor.

Or, I have a different idea, maybe the plot of 40k could not revolve around only primarchs at some point in the future!

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
