Seems like a lot of the people in this thread are the type to tell a girl she'd be much prettier if she smiled.

They look like militant church ladies, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

Heck, I even like the helmets and I've been a big proponent of the angry bobs style and had been trying to figure out how to make habits for some bald heads, then they gave me a habit.

It's the internet. Rule #92 - the closer to 4chan/incel-ism you are the more time you have to post on the internet about your views.

The heads look great. They look like *real* people, and will provide a range of faces for sisters models. Real humans have a diversity of facial features, and it's good to not have every model with the same face.

Yep, the faces rock. Though I hope they have some bald heads too.

To keep it thematic, it's basically like how Nurgle cultists try to spread nurgle rot as far and wide as possible, right?

Folks why so mean
It looks like I did not appreciate GW's genius. They do exactly what fans expect and desire . Turn female faces into men's potatoes. Good for you guys.
Damn that grimdark universe is realy depressive place. No pretty girls left :(.

@Hybrid Son Of Oxayotl thats picture is more like style of that artist. Im sure you can find some different graphic with more smooth sisters .

Is that an euphemism?

It's the official 2nd edition definitive artwork that is the absolute master reference on everything Sisters of Battle. OG Sisters.

Any lore reasons why battle sisters have ugly man's faces?

Yes.

“In the 40th millenium, stupid people die quite easily given how dangerous the grimdark is, so noone is left alive to tell the Sisters that they should put more effort on their appearance for the benefit of troglodites”.

Straight out of the 2nd edition codex.
Which also gives us the most canonical depiction of a Sister's face ever:
Spoiler:

Sister Sin from Rogue Trader is better and more canonical.

The designer who posts on the Mad Robot thread, when criticised on a new range of heads, normally answers that due to the design process, the renders often appear unreal and exaggerated because that is what gives you the desired outcome when finally cast.

Is that what we are seeing here?

As for grim sisters, I wouldn't mind seeing one or two faces designed with a Sister in a state of divine joy because she is doing the Emperor's work. Can that be captured in 28mm scale?

I must be honest, the only artwork in GW history that I've hated more than THAT GUY'S artwork is Blanche's. Some of my least favorite pieces in GW history at by him.

I have to agree. I know it's heresy but I too have never really liked John Blanche's art.

Blanche, England, and whomever drew that really terrible angular sketchy artwork in the 3rd Ed. Marine Codex. You know, the one where you have a Tyranid closing on a Marine firing a bolter, they both look like Giger hood ornaments swirling id smudges.

That'd be England, based on the skull design, right?

Whilst I acknowledge that we wouldn't have 40K without Blanche's influence, there are many of us who don't like his scribble art.

I like it when it's taken and given life, like the Voystroyans, which were pure Blanche made real.

No you got things wrong, Sister Sin isn't a Sister of Battle she is the OG proof that female Space Marines are 100% canon and everything saying otherwise is propaganda and lies.

You are not very good at understanding but you can go back to complaining about Australian GW price all day so it's fine
