Common rumors include

New transport (specifically a flyer)
Bikers
Techmarine

Seen recently some rumors of a unique primaris chapter with named characters/their own chapter tactic in a codex 2.0 but I don't give it much credence.

I think that'd make sense if they do intend to go down the route of ousting normal marines. A termintaor equiv for Primaris marines could happen too.

I think that's what aggressors are meant to be, though they aren't very good at it. Especially without the (already not particularly very good) invuln.

They need a drop pod, a marine army without a drop pod option just feels wrong. Then again with how deep strike now works, they lost a lot of utility.

Something *like* a drop pod but with mobility after it lands and/or decent guns would be nice. Preferably with six transport slots (and give 12 to the repulsor so it can take a full team of aggressors).

Maybe a loyalist dreadclaw type thing, something that comes in via deep strike and dumps a squad then can fly around and roast things and pick up some other guys latter in the game. Also GW please give chaos drop pods again, always found it silly they lacked the most common type of marine insertion that they should logically have.

Assault units possibly a Heavy Infantry TH/SS type unit too. PrimarisBack type transport maybe.

Melee focused gravis would be nice. Inceptors with TH/SS equivalents alongside crushing charge would be sick.

Primaris Terminators would be great. 3 wounds, maybe toughness 5 with a 2+/5++ or better. And bringing some proper melee options instead of crappy fists with just a 3+ to bank on. Aggressors are a joke of a heavy assault option.

Thing is, Aggressors, despite their name, work really best planted in a cover to mow down cultists in a 24" range. I've seen someone talk about Onslaught gatling guns and immediately pictured Hellblasters with miniguns, and I didn't know I needed this so bad.

Make it happen GW !

Some sort of heavy weapon wielding Mark X gravis armour, another vehicle probably of the light variety, and hopefully a cheaper transport. There are supposed to be deathwing primaris as well as raven wing primaris, so maybe terminator armor primaris and bikers of some kind.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

T5, W3, 14" move, same Hurricane Bolter/Missile Pod weapon options, 50ish points or so? Yeah, I'd probably buy a squad of those.

I've said before and I'll say again that considering GW's design brief for Primaris any real Heavy Support option they develop is likely going to come out looking like Centurion Devastators. Just lower the points on those things by the 30-35 points that they're overcosted and add the Primaris label to them.

They just need some more options for Hellblasters or Aggressors.

Imagine underslung Onslaught Gatling cannons on Hellblasters, or Aggressors with a shoulder mounted Lascannon.

You've basically described a Centurion in full dakka-mode and one with Lascannons respectively, minus about 40 points.

No... These are smaller models with less wounds and lower defensive stats.

Not by very frelling much. 1 fewer wound, 3+ vs 2+, Aggressors are even at the same T value. And yes Centurions are chunkier, but they're only a little bit taller than an Intercessor. Granted Centurions are a lot more points, but they're also 25 more points than they have any right to be.

It's also a completely different scale of weapon loadout.

I'm saying a single Onslaught Gatling cannon and you're equating that to two heavy Bolters and a hurricane bolter.

They're just completely different units.

My usual wishlist for primaris is:

Mortis & twin CCW redemptor dreadnought.
Dual Inceptor captain/Lieutenant
Primaris Techmarine
Primaris siege unit with a modern thunderfire cannon/rapier gun
Primaris Transport: 6 Primaris capacity, one set of heavy weapons, deep strike ability. Skimmer or gunship.
Dedicated CC unit. Either Primaris Veterans or Inceptors

Personally I'm not fond of the usual ideas for a drop pod, bikes, terminators etc. They just seem a bit cliche and obvious to me and I'd rather they go for something more unique.

Certainly a lot more appealing as models over the IMHO horible Gravis armour.

that would be dope

I would really like to see a cheap dedicated transport like a storm or drop pod. A flamestorm inceptor would be cool & assault cannon aggressors could do the trick.

If everything out currently got options I think it would fix a fair amount of the issues with them.

I really have been using them as reinforcements for my Salamanders and am really happy with them as such. A couple of weeks ago I played a primaris only 60pl and all of their inherent shortcomings became apparent.

It'd be nice if they kept going with the "hyper-specialized" thing primaris seem to have. Making them better as support units to existing units is a pretty solid idea, it's just they cost a lot and the things they support aren't very good.

This. I think it would have been cooler if the Primaris marine creating process was really unstable, so Primaris Marines are used in really specialized support roles and are more uncommon. I think they could have been really cool that way, but alas, it was not meant to be.

I personally hate the lack of ablative wounds in Primaris units, the lack of iconic marine weaponry, and the weird hodgepodge they currently consist of. I love the models but feel strong armed into buying monkey marines.

I want a proper jump assault squad. I want a proper heavy weapon squad, even if they’re mono weapon (I’d prefer some spare bodies though). I also want proper Primaris termies. So much potential for gorgeous minis. Also; give me a damn rhino that Primaris can ride in that doesn’t fly.

Why Guilliman comes back and says “let’s make these big goons legion style” I’ll never know.

It would be wonderful to see Marines get some real armor, a true 40K Main Battle Tank, a big cannon, and some suppressible fire elements.

Something T8 12+ Wounds, with a Heavy 1 S16 AP-4 D6 Cannon. Apply heavy bolters as needed.

A Space marine A-10 Flyer would be killer, something that can buzz the field and really, really bring the pain on the enemy.

I'd love to see some sort of long range support infantry kit, something that can put out long range devastation, while being able to take advantage of cover.

A close assault unit would also be great, something that can deepstrike in and charge with blinding fury.

Hopefully they'll get a techmarine. Mobile Artillery might also be awesome, something akin to a real life Paladin?

I think the size is on point, but I'd just make the barrels longer by making the chassis of the gun shorter. Otherwise, that looks really awesome and I need this.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Actually I really hope that they come out with bikes with the option to make one a Cpt on bike like the custodes box

But I don't know if they would be grav bikes or massive motorcycles. Both are appealing. Though grav bikes would fit the Primaris aesthetic, well so far. I guess the repulsor could be an outlier

Hellblasters are a min squad of 5, that's 30 shots. Centurions are a min squad of 3, that's 36 shots and half of them are lower quality. Full disclosure though for some stupid reason I read "Onslaught Cannons on Hellblasters" as Hellblasters with more than one Onslaught Cannon each.

As for Aggressors with Lascannons on the shoulders instead of the frag launchers, two LCs plus the bolter gauntlets is very similar a LC + Hurricane Bolter Centurion before you get to Storm of Fire. And SoF on such an Aggressor at the probable 85ish points would invalidate half the codex.

1. Terminator style infantry. 2+ sv is something that Primaris (outside a relic) don't have at the moment.
2. Devastator style unit. Unit that can equip las talons, typhoon launchers, onslaught gatling cannons.
3. Expand the weapon selection above into Intercessor units - 1 per 5 man in the unit can take one of the above. While we're expanding Intercessors - let the sergeant take items from the CC list.
4. cheap transport option
5. CC variant of Inceptors.
6. Techmarine... that is actually viable for once.
7. A skimmer recon vehicle. Sort of like the LS Storm, can carry 6 primaris infantry.

"What sort of Primaris units will GW release next ?"

None?

GW has released so many SM stuff recently that they should do the same thing with other factions before adding more primaris stuff. Primaris should be ok with this catalogue for 5+ years.

But sadly SM are GW's posterboys so I guess we'll have other primaris unneeded crap very soon. I said unneeded because primaris are not a new factions, they are just additional units to an already existing army. They don't need terminators or devatators equivalents, they already have the standard SM versions.

I understand your opinion, however I don't believe GW will stop releasing Primaris that fast. The sales of Primaris products are, I believe, really good and so as a business they want to keep them good.

Another reason is that they ARE replacing old Marines with Primaris. This will take a long time but they'll never update the old line or release new regular SMs. So if they want their playerbase to adapt, they have to give them alternatives (Primaris) early on to replace their collection little by little. So that the transition is on the long run. People will have time to get used to Primaris, make conversions, compare them to their tiny old SMs and feel that the scale difference isn't right and so on.

Honestly if they just said they were going to update the SM range with new scaled sculpts without any Primaris shenanigans that would have worked for me. I guess their business managers just figured the whole Primaris range would generate more sales and new players.
