Not if they are redoubted. (basically earthwalled instead of dug out. which they are going to be, have bought myself some decent wooden parts to fit inand will draw some Concrete super structure in it, that should suffice.

Next step, using Gaze, then adding in Shooting stands.
Also wooden parts, like small roofes. on the sides for ammo storage.
Then spraying.
Then on the front part where the concrete wall is supposed to be chipped off adding in mosquite net to show reeinforcement metal.
Then adding bushes.
Then creating a Camo netting.
Then painting.

Then done. Finished Artillery strong point.

Sweet, the overall shape looks great, with the bit of wall on top of it. Should be a nice piece !

Ha allready finished the gauze part.
That should be the final super (?) structure.



Gotta admit, first time working with gaze's and i am fairly confident that it was a good decision allready.
Can only reccomend.

Will be, missing things are some small wooden parts, and the camonet aswell as the mosquite net to represent reinforced Concrete.
Also bushes.

So , i kinda asked around for Daemon alternatives, especially unaligned and Magmatic, and whilest i yet lack a basic infantry unit that fits that description (preferably to be played as Bloodletter so if you got an idea just pm me or post it here) I found the balrog to be a nice enough model for that kind of style i want.
So i built one, which i will paint tommorow.

no regrets.
I might alos have nearly bought up all initial stock in switzerland

So, my personal opinion.
From bad to good.

Ok first the firebrand: McFartgasflamer is addmittedly better looking irl then on picture still a meh dude imo.
First cultist: HE IS NOT WORTHY, NOT BLESSED BY BOB, the minor god auf autgunstocks and riflebutts. No seriously it IRKS me to no end.

The cultist leader: Great model, bit too big though comparatively to the other cultists. Especially obvious if compared to Gentlemen cultist or HS gal.
GL: It's a GL. he doesn't particularry look good but he also knows what hes doing i like him.

Nader: Looks good, altough the Arm looks silly in comparison to the nade a bit.
Reloader: Is reloading, also the mask is a nice throwback to the vraksians, however, why he didn't bother with slap on armor at all irks me. Still owner of a Autogun with a stock, therefore bob is pleased and so am i.
Gentlemen cultist: Carries the ammo, and a Stock on his autogun, also gentlemen.
Probably the best sculpt imo; HS gal. Fits perfectly in the not overdone not underdone category, I also like Heavy stubbers.

Overall bob is pleased, except the first cultist, he DISGUSTS me. (probably a nurglite.)

Ok jokes aside, i sadly did not manage to get the KT rules for SOA, which is annoying as feth.

Progress, finished my 3 abyss cultists now on to the BSF Guardsmen.




As you can see i modified the melee ones, either using chains or simply the lasgun to make them homogenus and to make them more usefull for my R&H.


Now some cleanup and then, to the next and the box after them.
I hope when i am finished that we finally get a SOA codex and or that legends doesn't just wipe out my R&H and leaving me with nothing.

The next squad.

So seems like i now either have a 60 model challange, (nope) but something to do.
Maybee if i paint slow enough i will see a propper update before i am finished

So as you can see i have my hands full.

However i am still unsure how i should go about Balrog paint scheme wise and am pretty much open for any and all suggestions.

That is a mass of cultists your working on! They look really good, the beastmen are great too. If GW came out for rules for them in 40k I would have to pick some up.

There are technically rules from bsf which are not too difficult to adapt.
Alternatively i proxy them as specific kinds of marauders and disciples

To my knowledge i have
70 31. Mechanized.
90 AF auxillia painted
And these with some other unpainted stuff which will so be used for the AF.
The cultists as cultists and the bsf traitor guard as disciples.

On a sidenote, has anyone an idea how to make possesed off the new Chaos marines? (Specific bits named would be appreciated also feel free to post exemples)

Flames look great, that is one big project and should take some time. I am sure you will pull it all together at the end!
As for possessed using the new CSM for a base I unfortunately will be of no help. But will keep an eye out here to see what you will do with them.

That’s a spectacular horde of BSF Baddies! I’d be surprised if there were many left in the country!

Balrog/Blood Thirster flames are looking good so far. Will you be giving the recesses between his muscles a glow too?

Then i will lighly wash him
and the wings will be greyish.

Remaining horns and teeth and nails.

On another note, Winters around the corner, meaning that my sorry ass was mostly concerned with matters os splitting wood, helping family out preparing their "Schrebergarten" for winter, preparing the own garden for winter.
