If you're holding it back to give your exorcist(s) the ability to use more MD, it might be a pain for your opponent to bring enough firepower to kill it completely depending on how much long-range murder power he has. Or it might die instead of your exorcists, which isn't necessarily a bad thing either. Not being <ORDER> hurts though.

I kind of think this is going to be its role and trying to move it upfield to make use of the weight of attacks feels like a trap.

It is a trap. It's a solid buff tool with a counter charge capability. Getting it into combat ASAP will just be too risky.

The same can be said for any sisters assault unit
It all relies on how easy it is to hide
-1 to hit 2+/4+++ and 18w is enough to shrug off most things but not without dropping it down a tier (or two), the issue I see is if you are running an infantry list, all those anti knight guns have nothing else to shoot at, so its going to catch one at every opportunity, tank phalanx to hide it isn't as viable anymore without invulnerable buffing the vehicles =/

For no apparernt reason given the lack of stock.

Soo apparently SOB is a 8.5 ed codex alongside Marines.

Holy trinity historically sucks, +1 to wound is a very small bonus considering you have to give up an efficient weapon loadout for it.

Against marines, 4 Bloody rose handflamers in a squad of 10 seraphim does 5 wounds. 2 Bloody rose handflamers and 2 bloody rose inferno pistols in a squad of 10 with trinity does 6.42 wounds to tacticals and 7.3ish to intercessors. So you're taking a loadout that is much less efficient on it's own AND more expensive for roughly the same benefit you'd get from a CP reroll. It's actually worse against lower save, lower toughness models because the melta pistols can only ever kill 1 model max.

The strategy is sound, and a very clever manipulation of the way end of phase works, you should just take all handflamers/all meltas and ignore Holy trinity.

Last I knew, holy trinity was pretty much a 'HF retributor only' strat.

100% agreed.

This and holy trinity is shooting phase only. But mostly this.

It's sounds like a neat situational trick to wipe a small blocking squad. But, if you leave 1 guy alive then there's a still an 18" deny bubble for the zephyrs.

I was thinking that too and got real excited about wounding T4 with bolt pistols on 3s in the movement phase, but Holy Trinity can only be used in the shooting phase so it isn't possible.

The clearing chaff concept can still work, though, and gives the unit clarity of purpose in weapon selection. No longer need this particular unit to bring inferno.

Anyone with more readily available access to the wording know if units can be effected by multiple different Imagifier buffs? I doubt it but I can't remember.

Anyone knows how the Passion interacts with the stratagem that let us use the same miracle dice for hit and wound?

So, if i usa a 6 on the hit, will this become a 6 to wound on both the attacks generated? This could be nice with the blade of admonition, essentially turning a single attack into 6 mortal wounds (AP-4 with bloody rose, -5 with the other sacred rite).

The generated hit doesn't count as a 6, per an If (I think) FAQ. How that then interacts with the hit roll == wound roll I have no idea...

Tabletop Tactics just put up a batrep with a Immolator/Dominion spam list and immediately Vanguard moved the Immolators. WinterSEO also didn't point out that the Dominion vanguard doesn't confer to transports explicitly and said "very good IF it works on transports".

So I dunno, it might be something GW didn't notice but given that its not above them to copy/paste stuff it seems like something explicitly removed to me but I'd be happy to be wrong and GMG just glossed over something in the rules.

Edit: the TTT report clarifies that they can't when they're talking about lists. I usually just skip that bit cause its boring.

So. For some completely bizarre reason - the preorder my friend put in for me at a online store he knows got me my preorder. As in actual physical copy. I'm collecting it Sunday.

So, providing my friend isn't being a huge troll (we do wind each other up something fierce!) I will have it in my hands Sunday afternoon.

I'm willing to take loads of pictures and put them up, any requests on which?

Obviously I'll take pictures of datasheetst, points, rules etc. But anyone wants some artwork, etc. I'll happily do it. I have known to be jammy than Hartley's, so there's that!

Had a skim watch of the report -interesting - obviously he was constrained by models.

Usual isssue of new army and forgtting/getting ruels wrong - I will likely do the same though when I play for the first few times
ie:
Kept forgetting that he got extra -1 on AP on a 6.

You sure you can do that?

I do receive my preorders early too, but the store manager always reccomends not to post anything online or he gets in trouble.

Finally a written "review" of the codex so we don't have to keep using YouTube to discuss things.

If anything, I will take the fall. And if I'm honest, whole thing is leaked online so my pictures aren't anything that people don't know anyway.

So I'm considering ordering some of the made to order inquisitors that they have this week. I figure Confessor Kyrinov is a must. But are any of the inquisitors or demonhost models good to either add into a sister's force with the new rules or just to use as proxies for other models?

Hard to know what with the lack of play time. I personally don't think Sisters will need much in the way of support for Inquisitors outside of thematic builds.

Hector Rex and Greyfax are amazing. I'm planning on taking either one of those 2. Hector can have 3 casts and 4 denies, where Greyfax can keep things in combat.

A generic Xenos Inquisitor with the WL trait to regen CPs does not not seem a bad idea, you also get a Relic for the 1CP to get the trait.
