Greetings to the community!

The new year is almost here, and with my HH Iron Warriors reaching 10'000 points, and my last Necromunda project ( https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/767357.page) almost finished, I needed something new for 2019.

It has been a while I kept myself away from 40k... the 8th edition had for me a great start, with a very cool campaign that make my first love for 40k universe come up again, afther really terribles 6-7th editions...
But afther the first 3-4 months, the 40k starting to lose its appeal... the new BG was not as well written and deep as I wished, and from then on GW started to focus only on rules and balance (doing not the greatest of jobs imho). So the passion I felt at the beinning went slowly away...untill now, with CA missions and most of all with the new Campaign book, the focus returned were it always shoul've been: BG and fun.

So I decide to give my 40k Death Guard some love, and start a long waited project of mine, the "7 Basdards Sons of Mortarion", 7 Generals of the Death Guard and daemonic entity that choose to follow Typhus in his personal quest of contagion, not caring (and often going against) the will of their Primarch Mortarion, witch they all consider a failure of a father.

Here are the Seven (names with follows):

- (Prince Daemon) ........................................................
- (Prince Daemon) .........................................................
- (Lord of Nurgle) ..........................................................Lord Wrast
- (Leviathan Dreadnought) ..........................................
- (Renegade Nurgle Knight) .......................................
- (Sorcerer of Nurgle) ...................................................
- (unidentified) ......................................................
[I need some help to decide the last member of the Seven, I need a piece that could fit the fluff, but also give me some different conversion opportunities... what do you guys would like to see othere the ones already mentioned?]

So, to start things off the first entry of the Seven will be the Leviathan Dreadnought... during the heresy was a faithfull General of Mortarion that fell during the Siege of Terra, now an ancient sarcofagus, home of thousands of daemonic plagues:

Gorgeous dread, looking forward to seeing some paint on it, and the shape of its 6 brothers !

For the 7th, how about building something that could use Mortarion's rules on the tabletop, but is not mortarion. All its need is a badass gun, a scythe or some melee evil looking weapon and wings/rotors. Fluff wise, It could be an even tougher demon prince or some kind of plague mechanicus construct/magos, etc...
On a similar note, I am pretty sure I saw a nurgle "lord of skulls" looking gorgeous !

thanks!

I don't know if i want to proxy mortarion...i've chosen my death guard path, use mortarion (even with different model) seems wrong... either way, a Mortarion equal give me very cool opportunities...a daemonic king...
but the Leader of the gang is Typhus...so an entity of that magnitude seems unlikely willing to follow a simple astares.

i know what lord of skull you are talking about...its magnificent (from lez couzes blog isn't it?)... but I've already the knight for a big mechanical construct...
maybe a giant spawn? to represent one of the seven that went too far into his hatred for the Prinarch... (also give me mutch more freedom with green stuff and different looks from the other six).

Nice looking dread.

No idea how legit it is for gaming, what sort of proxy you could use, but how about a dark mechanics magos - someone to provide the engines of contagion?

Your stance on mortarion definitely makes sense !

Nurgle magos definitely sounds awesome. If one needs rules for such a thing, the chaos hellright on dark abeyant sounds perfect. Or it could stand in as a defiler depending on its shape.

Meanwhile, second entry of the Seven:
