Still a couple of copies left at Asgard Wargames in the UK - decided against it in the end, too many projects as it is!

I guess GW will consider it a success as it sold out. Even though they've probably annoyed more customers than made happy.

Muppets.

On the bright side, this might get them to increase production of the later sets?

Hopefully.

Welp, it's game over for me too. Wasn't able to access their website from the very beginning, it was down and then when it came back, no more available.

Feth you, GW. Feth you deep on this one.

I agree. It's madness.

I think I got very lucky. Sorry to all you folks who couldn't get a copy, GW really need to rethink this sort of release.

Vigo. Spain.

Objetively speaking this box has very little value.
I mean, at the usual 20% you could probably buy the regular codex, plus a cannones, a sister squad, a seraphin squad, all of them multipart, and maybe even something more.
I wasnt gonna buy this. But is the first limited codex with a cover I really believe is beautifull.
Also, after all this years saying "If they do sister in battle, Ill start an army!" I had to keep my word. Or my friends would laugh at me.

There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Unless word of mouth from those with the box set indicates the army is a bit rubbish.

That said, pap rules and gameplay or not, being predominantly a collector/ painter rather than a gamer, the battle pulpit character will be mine!

Not a problem, them and Element have always done me good service.

What is the benefit of this kind of artificial scarcity to GW? All they are doing is angering customers and putting money into the pockets of resellers? Within reason they could print an infinite amount of this box.

It's gone, you've missed it. If you refresh you'll get through but your order is toast.

Unfortunately your right. Started the order as soon as it when live as well Guess I'll have to wait for the regular release.

GW has effectively made me quit on buying that sister boxset. This is so dumb.
Anybody who claim this is actually a good move business wise is delusional. If the box had way higher quality and a higher price tag all this fuss would make sense, such a shortage would makes sense. But for a simple 160 € box with a codex and a battle force, with almost no exclusive miniature (except maybe the canoness, which is a direct downgrade compared to the canoness kit that will appear) this is outright stupidity.

Am very interested to hear of how those that went direct to a GW bricks and mortar store to order. They usually only have one order terminal and it is not a quick process, with that and queues I can see people in store missing out and GW staff having to deal with a fair amount of unhappy customers on site.

I seriously doubt the stores would have opened fast enough to have successfully seen anyone get an order placed within that tiny 9:59am window of opportunity.

Bonus points though for anywhere that had someone at the front of the queue ordering something other than the boxed set. Being that guy would have been dangerous! XD

Ebay scalpers are up to £350 already, wonder how high it'll get.

Also - thank you Mad Doc, firestorm did indeed have one or two left (though not any more). Now the long wait for the 'sorry we ran out of stock' email from them :p

It's times like this that I wish there was some sort of entrance exam system in place to stop scalpers buying copies.

Just a quick Sisters of Battle quiz, ten questions long. If you fail to score at least 7 out of 10 then your order gets cancelled. Or better yet, orders are fulfilled in order of the scores people achieve

I don't know what's more Heretical. Ebay scalpers or the plasma pistols on the Canoness and Serphim Superior?

I hope no one buys from the scalpers but no doubt they will

Ugh scalpers No doubt some one will be daft enough to buy it.

Still, looking on the bright side(not really got much choice ) any doubters at GW should have been well and truly silenced by this mess. Hopefully any spare production capacity will go towards making sure they have plenty of stock ready for the full release next year.

Went with “civil but sardonic”, so at least they’ll know I’m definitely a British customer.

You can hardly fault scalpers in a scenario where demand is so thoroughly higher than supply, it’s the company who created their market in the first place.

If they’re trying to price gouge people on a limited product with a reasonable window of availability, sure, I could see the complaint then.

Well, that's an auction STARTING at 120GBP - not that weird.

I got pretty lucky with my german retailer, 120€ each for two German box sets - was probably the very first order and apprently he'd set it up in a way that the price would rise automatically (up to the official price) as the stock got low. He didn't make many friends doing that I'd guess...

So now we can look forward to two weeks of the website advertising Sisters on the front page, when in fact they only had any for sale for about 4 minutes O.o

There was actually a listing last night for a set, it was 'buy it now' for £128. Not sure where that went.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Didn't GW say they're pretty sure they made enough to satisfy everyone?

Evidence would suggest either they're still incapable of estimating demand properly, or they're still massive bloody liars.

Decided not to stress about it, kinda glad now as I suspect I'd have spend an hour bouncing from failed transaction to out of stock notice and getting annoyed.

Just have to hope the models end up in a Start Collecting eventually.

Is that even legal? Because that sounds like the kind of anti-consumer BS that the EU spend a lot of time legislating against.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

It blows my mind that GW took 20 years to make new Sisters. Look now people are climbing over themselves just to get them.

What has surprised me the most is Dark Sphere never even bothered trying to list it on their website. And they're my go-to store for this kind of thing.

They had an expression of interest form up. Those people get first refusal and whatever doesn't get taken goes on general sale at the end of the weekend.

Thank you for placing your name on the resist of interest for the Sisters of Battle Box. After product go live you will receive an email with details of how to purchase your box. Any box that has not been purchase by the end of this weekend will be put up for general sale.

Best wishes,

The Dark Sphere Team

P.S. Please note that the same person signing up using different email addresses will still be subject to the one per customer limit

-1 minutes. Anyone who didn't start the order at 9:59 (and at least one person who did) probably missed out, and now gets to wait another 4-5 months for a codex.

I can see this losing GW a lot of potential players. If the sisters codex isn't at least above average tier people are going to lose interest between now and March - and the preview rules weren't exactly IH mk2.

You can sell anything for any price on an auction house, it's not GW main that are selling the item so no anti consumer legislation hits them

Why wouldn't it be legal? It's simply demand and supply, and literally how all the stock exchanges work. Most Kickstarters do some kind of limited early-bird offerings at reduced prices, too.
But it's not very consumer-friendly.
