Hey guys I've been stripping some of my badly painted chaos marine models today and I had a thought.
Let's all agree to glue on things like space marine backpacks and bolters with superglue instead of plastic glue. That way if we ever decide to sell our models, these parts can be snapped off easily to make stripping and repainting easier.
Be kind to your future self/fellow gamer, use superglue.
Thank you

Nope. Sorry. Plastic glue FTW. Then again, I’ve never sold a model, so it’s not like my glue choices are impacting anyone but myself.

I feel the same way about seatbelts in cars. If I'm in so bad an accident that I'm flying out a windshield, first off the other guy is just as borked as I am and second, I probably won't make it through another windshield. It's not like I'm becoming a human projectile.

Why just those then? Why not head, shoulders, legs etc? Why not just ban plastic glue?
I want my models to STAY together. Ergo for plastic models nothing beats plastic glue. If somebody doesn't like that in theoff chance I sell model later...Well that's why you give hefty discount.
But hey fine I can agree if people agree to pay retail price for used models

And that's how we ended up with seatbelt laws...

yea well, thats why the price for second hand models in tabletop quality is low, you either accept what has been done to the models you buy, or dont and instead buy NIB.

Let's all agree that if I ever find myself in a position where I have to sell my models, I don't give a rats ringhole how difficult you find working with them

Can't agree on that - if you decide to buy already painted minis you need to calculate all additional work that can be required on them. I prefer plastic glue instead of superglue mostly because it's more durable and nothing gonna change my mind on that

Yeah, no... If you're playing with these models, they need to be as sturdy as possible and super glue just doesn't cut it.

I only use super glue. I hate plastic glue. So if you ever buy/trade stuff from me, you’re guaranteed to have minis you can break apart! I find the yellow/black superglue tubes from Walmart actually do a damn good job of keeping my models together. I haven’t tested it by throwing them down the stairs, but they hold up just fine.

I hate superglue because I glue my fingers all the time. Plus plastic glue is stronger. Automatically Appended Next Post: I do, however, hereby agree not to use plastic glue on metal models. I've found it doesn't work.
Also, in the early days I hot glued some of my models. On being informed that this reduced their trade value, I stopped. I used to use it kind of like low end green stuff.

I use pinning and superglue wherever possible. Plastic only when necesary like for small or potentially weak connections.
