I recently stumbled onto a kickstarter for a phone app designed to make it easy to product highly visual battle reports:

Looks promising actually. Would be interested to see some real-life examples of it in use and some reviews too though.


edit: Just realised it is in development and not actually built yet. Still, hopefully the finished article delivers on what it promises.

Yeah, I hope so too. I'm supporting the Kickstarter as it's not a lot of money and I like the idea. At the moment it's over halfway funded.

Yeah same. I think a Kickstarter for a digital app is a little more nebulous than regular Kickstarters since so much more can go wrong with app development but I would happily cough up retail for it when it arrives.

Eh, it's a niche market. There's most likely going to be a very limited user base, which means the price needs to be higher.

Plus it's a small, indie company, most likely a one man band dev team. I don't think a slightly higher price is that much of an issue.

The project creator has just posted an update that clarifies the pricing. While it's very poorly explained on the project page, it seems that backing at the 10 euro level DOES get you the full final application. So the kickstarter price is currently 10 euros. Once the kickstarter is over the price on the app store will be 15 euros. So by backing the kickstarter you do get a discount.

I backed. I think it will be useful, and I'm willing to take the risk to see it created.
