I mean we knew it was going to happen but still. Going from $50 to $150 is steep. I am kind of wishing I had bought some of the old ones, I'm 3 armies away from needing a couple but...

Personally, I think the old one is ridiculously overpriced at $50, for what it is and, yeah, they'll be all over that there t'ebay they have now within weeks of the new one's release.

I'm annoyed that I paid ca. $250 for a centerpiece model that's now the same size as a regular KoS.

Its what the other greater daemon did too.

I was more miffed previously because I bought a crapcast Kairos about a week or two before they even mentioned a new plastic one was coming out.

Fortunately, the previous Keeper was so hideous, I'd never have bought it anyway, still prefer to bull look ones.

How much taller is the new guy?

Nobody knows for sure I don't think, but I've got some comparison shots.

If we assume the IE, not including the 'harp', is the same height as a Daemonette (I don't own her), then the new KoS looks to be about the same height as Zarakynel/The Violet Heart, who is 6.5" tall at the top of Her left hand's nails.

You can't compare the price of old technology for new technology. Not just the new plastic moulding tech, the design itself is far and above the original. Plus the model is huge in comparison to the old one as is the detail. Its expensive but not compared to all the other releases. I do think however it should around the £70 mark its current is £85 in the uk can't remember what the old one was cost at.

I'm still glad I've got one of the 2nd generation ones in metal - I plan on using it for a Prince since its comparable in size and now that the new one is out the old keeper is just too small.

All I really have to do is work out if there's any changes I'd like to make to it and if I want to try and put wings on it. Otherwise its a very neat looking model. Though personally I've always prefered its elongated "cow" head over the other head.




And yeah the new one is priced around the same price as the other greater demons, offers several optional weapons and an alternate hero build and its a lot bigger. The mould costs for it will have been vastly greater than for a smaller metal model. So yep its current price is pretty much what most of us were expecting it to be.
Also don't forget it went up in points too, so you won't be able to field "as many" of them in, say, a 2K army as you might have with the older one which was only around 260 points or so.



The only shame is that its sounding like the Exalted is no longer as powerful as it once was, not stands out as much; though I'd still love to own one (even though its headdress gives me nightmares for transporting; its pose is so fine and thin and ALL those tiny spikes to glue on)

Are they worth the extra smashcaptian that they increased? Cause you can buy a lot for 80 points.

"Yes", but that really depends if you can get them where they need to be. Multiple KoS or other distractions will be necessary.

That's pleasingly cheap for such a huge and powerful model!

I don't even collect Slaanesh and I'm jealous of this model, its looks amazing, the sculptor retained the look, giving it a subtle bulls head but made it far more elegant and androgynous as Slaanesh should be. Like I love my Bloodthirster but it isn't as epic (I hate that word) as the lord of change or the keeper of secrets. The bloodthristers wings mean it has to be small and its pose isn't that dynamic, which is the case for multi-weapon models, like Sanguinius looks terrible with the sword but amazing with the spear. GW should look into that.

This is wrong. GMG goes over the points costs. 360 for the Keeper and 340 for Shalaxi.

which model did you get for your centerpiece?

Zarakynel. She is supposed to be some all-powerful World-Ender type of Daemon (who I call The Violet Heart) and the plan was to have her flanked by a couple of KoS attendants which probably won't 'read' now.
