Re: Great War British
So there are two types of forage caps, brodie helmets, turbans for the Army of the Raj, but what type of hat are the heads just below the turban heads wearing? It looks kind of like a deerstalker, but deerstalkers are civilian hunter's caps, not military headgear. Tam o'shanters would make sense for Highland regiments, but that hat does not look like a Tam o'shanter.

They're winter caps I believe.

Do it. I dare you!
Les Grognards are the most fully rounded at the moment with Command and Heavy Weapon options but with patience, the same treatment should be handed out to all of the Death Fields range.

The goblins look cool. I may get a box for the rider legs and some of the arms to make some halfling mounted heroes. Bought one of the wizkids d&d griffons with that in mind,

Yeah, really liking the goblins, compatibility with the spider rider kit to make spider riders is great and 20 head options on a 5-man sprue is really going above and beyond, creates an opportunity to reserve different ones for different units. I could picture making a small unit of goblin elites using lots of the enclosed helm head.
Spoilt for choice with goblins now with WA, oathmark and mantic all having good options at reasonable price points.
Oathmark and WA are perfect for LotR, with the WA having more of the "chaotic nasty bitey" look to them rather than the more uniform, serious look of the oathmark goblins, might be possible to have oathmark goblins as orcs/warg riders, and WA as moria goblins. A box each of WA gobbos/spiders and Oathmark gobbos/wolfboyz and you'd have a huge horde going with cross-compatible bitz for a fraction of the cost of buying from GW.
For more heroic scale or comedy goblins (WHFB), Mantic gobbos probably fit the bill better. Great to have such choice, especially after so long with either monopose or giant hands plastic gobbos from GW as the only option.

Sludge is already the WW1 version of Turnip (well, more like "WW1 without machine guns/a couple years before WW1, because including machine guns would push the game in a direction I don't want to take it" version of Turnip).

That hat was also known as the 'gor blimey' hat, as it was a shapeless mess.
There's been quite a bit of direct feedback on the FB page that the shape (or lack thereof) of the hat isn't quite right, and the battledress isn't right for Sikhs, apparently.
It'll be interesting to see what revisions are made. I was hoping for a few leather jerkins in the set, they were highly sought after items of kit and they just look cool.
I'm glad I held off on starting building armies for through the mud and blood, though there's a good chance these will make it into my Guard as Roane Deepers.

I'm hoping for just a huge number of pouches, backpacks, holsters, canteens, etc. plus maybe a few special weapons, so that future DF kits can save a bit of space on their sprues by simply throwing one of these into the box.
Alternatively, it could be mostly a generic heavy weapons sprue, so that future kits just need to include a couple of arms and kneeling legs to make HW teams.
A battlefield terrain sprue of crates, barrels, and so on, would be nice, but I think that's covered well enough by other companies.
Vehicle stowage would be fine too, but again done well by other companies and a bit weird for a company which doesn't make any actual vehicle kits.

Didn't Eisenkern have a kit that was just bits and the little robot mule? Before they came over from Dreamforge.
I swear it existed but I can't find any evidence of it, did I dream it up?
Because a sprue of guns, pouches, trench shovels, etc would be amazing. I'd buy multiples.

WGA already does something very similar to that, so who knows.

That’s the joke.
I believe the space cheese will probably come with the space ratmen. The bases will all be the long rectangular cavalry bases and there will be enough casualty figures in the set to lay on the flat bases and use sprue to turn the base into a futuristic mouse trap. It should also have tiny chef hats for the space mice to serve the cheese to the space Frenchmen with the wyne from les grognards.
