It looks like your bases are all laser-cut MDF with a logo etched in. I'd happily forgo the bases to save you on that time or expense. Most of your backers probably have plastic bases they can use already. For those who need bases included, is there no bulk deal you can make with Renedra or Proxie Models for plastic bases that is cheaper than laser cutting and etching?

@OP:

GW introduced beastmen in 40K with their latest boardgame. So where are your beastmen armed with laspistols and other scifi stuff?

Was trying to keep it oriented to the fantasy because we still need to round out the set, eventually I would like to tackle a sci fi upgrade in the future to make abnormal humans.

Can be a route I can look into, this was just a concern I thought some people might have, I just wanted to address that we could take care of it as a convenience point.

Based on the feedback from the backers, I am going to invest some and Tim Barry is going to help craft us a sci fi rifle upgrade path for the fauns. I have also asked him to generate a sling. With enough support we could do smaller molds for economical guardsmen, but for now, pewter kits. If anyone is interested $3 for a small add on, enough for 3 firearms in pewter for the faun sprues, in plastic we can up the ante at 4-5 guns, for $2.00.


The idea is not to take away from the pledge resources, we are going to set out to maximize options for the base fauns to address a long list of different needs and different games. Not too complicated, effectively create sculpts that go well with the poses on hand.

Nice work on the sci fi guns, hopefully it draws in a bit more of a crowd. I know the render is still a wip but it seems to be missing a handle and trigger at the moment. Really liking the overall style though.

This Kickstarter is solely to fund the females. The males have already been made. If you want female fauns, you should pledge.

We've just upped the ante, help us break 10k, we will do the female mold at 6x4, and personally fund a beginning centaur sprue.

I paid for the male sprue so it would be one less sprue to make, and to help gauge the quality.

Very excited to see these guys enter the fray! I am a little unclear on what adding $3 for a sprue would get me though, the mockup suggests it would be two models with the bottom half of the sprue being for the horse bodies and the top for some faun torsos correct?

If so I'd tweak the main page and add some pictures of a 10 unit centaur squad for the appropriate price ($15? That seems awfully cheap as much as it interests me, I'd like you guys to turn a profit! ) Marking prices by sprue might confuse a lot of prospective backers. One large graphic showing all the addons, possible units and their prices would also go a long way in streamlining the project

I would also keep pushing the army in a box, updating the images in that and also edit your first post on Dakka with some pictures as well now that you have some nicely painted models and loads of renders to show off!

Mainly if you want to do a customization. Say you say want to do a small skirmish game, you would be able to either use the freebies in your warparty or army in a box pledges, or alternatively, someone just wanting to back a few things can back to get a few centaurs and say a faun sprue. Or if you want to use all the bodies in your kit, you can avoid being short. Think of the price of the sprue as a very big thank you from us for supporting it.

Summary of the update,


Breaking 10k means we do a female sprue mold and start with a 3x4 sprue for centaurs. Unlocking both on the entry point of the kickstarter. Six horse bodies for the war party pledges and 20 for the Army in a box pledge. Sprue at 30k for the centaurs doubles in area for more parts. Main page now reflects the upgrades.

Yep but still over 2 weeks to keep it up. Coordinating pics for the minos soon. Files for the females are ready, we were trying to see if we can vary up this upcoming sprue a tad to breathe some more life into it. Plus, it is great to get feedback before the mold gets done.

You need deeper woodgrain texture on the shield if you want it to show up.

Are you suggesting he inject the young goatmen and goatwomen into sin?

Minotaurs are in pewter, but the females essentially follow the males in pattern, I wanted to switch out the wicker shields and include some of these new ones, as to vary it up. Working on getting that up to people. Biggest thing we need to show is the tweaked heads, and maybe one or two substitutions on close hand weapons. For the good of variation. Bone club likely to be one.
