Love that Reikland map.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Well, I hope contrast works better than their gemstone stuff.

I'd really like this to work well enough, especially over a zenithal highlight basecoat for even more contrast between shadow areas and exposed parts. Because I suuuuuck at painting, well, anything without overdoing it once I start "tidying up" after a wash. Last weekend I had the urge to paint again after ages of just converting stuff, took a Blood Rage bear viking, drybrushed his cloak real quick and...glazed it with several tones of orange, green and purple, re-highlighted with a brush, stippled and highlighted a fur texture on the bear head, loaded-brush action on the stone hammerhead to get a high contrast/smooth blend look, went through most of my Scale75 skin tones and my trusty Scorched Brown for a suitably weather-aged, rugged sailor look and had burned several hours on a board game piece to get it half finished. All while several armies with loving conversions wait to be painted (and have reinforcements built or completed).

IF my Nurgle men-at-arms can be basecoat-zenithal lights-contrast 1 for green livery-contrast 2 for white/beige livery - one highlight-tidy up work and skin/metal I'd be SO relieved. If this gives a decent starting point for (C)SM that'd be swell, too, but that is more easily doable right now.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Wait, no Hereticus Knighticus Aurelius, commander of the Armies of the Damned...etc etc? GW, U OK HUN?

EDIT: Haha, yes, because what the Repulsor chassis really needed was another, even bigger gun

EDIT2: Hmm. I am extremely conflicted about the Skitarii transport. I'll need to let that one sink in a bit and see more angles.

I'm really happy with the Skitarii tank. It's a dual kit, building the "Dunerider" transport and the "Skorpius Disintegrator" which is a 'fast moving battle tank'.

I think its one of those "URGH! No wait I love it" kind of models. AT first its a bit of a shock as its really different, but then you compare it to the rest of the range for that army and start to realise that it actually fits into them really really well. I love it also because its taking the idea of futuristic hovertanks that we had post WW2 into the 40K world - sure we never got them to work, but right there is the ideal hover transport and tank evolution.

I really like that Skitarii hovercraft. Plus we are getting proper battle tank to boot!

Although I could add that new Primaris tank is... not needed. Hope there is more besides that.

I *think* I like it. It's a WW2 landing boat IN SPACE.

I think it'd look better without the weird hovercraft/bumper car rounded edges, though. Or dozens of spider legs.

Edit: what the heck at those demons. They don't reakly look "GW" to me outside of the weapons. That might be because similiar models (DP, Possessed) are really, REALLY bad but actually based on the same design principles. Right now they ssem a bit generic compared to the goat-lion and furies from Warcry, though.

I think that's why it's not doing anything for me. This is the kind of thing I'd expect to see used by a "colourful local variant" Imperial Guard force in a nice drab green or grey with a few less rounded edges. It feels like the GW Studio guys are just trying too hard to not be the FW Mechanicum models, and it's odd to me that the "modern" AdMech are less grimdark in aesthetic than the version of them from 30K.

Like I say though, I'll reserve final judgement until we have more pics. And hey, worst case scenario, I can convert them into Chimera standins for Guard from a suitably weird monobiome planet.
