Random?! That sucks! The only winners will be ebay resellers.

They need to be put in a complete set or sold individually in a buy the one you want format.

The random nature was a known factor from the start, but they conveniently only mentioned it in the press release rather than the Warhammer Community article: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/ENG-Press-Release-Bandai-Games-Workshop-May-2019.pdf

Strangely, that press release also mentions the first wave will have 5 products, but there is quite a difference between those 5 between the initial announcement and what now shows up on that online store: Inquisitor and the Marine with ork head replaced by Ultramarine and Grey Knight. In the pictures on page 4, those two waves appear to be differentiated by being in different colours (grey for the first release, beige for the supposed second), but then those colours are reversed on page 3, where the Tempestus Scion and Beaky are grey while Assassin, Ultramarine and Sister are beige... I'm confused.

Blind purchase is a shame regardless. Not an issue if interested in all of them I suppose, but I'm not, let alone looking to end up buying duplicates of figures I don't much like. Guess that'll be either ebay or nothing.
And come on, do some Xenos in a next wave. Funko was all Space Marines, these are all Imperial so far. Sure, Space Marines are iconic, but don't tell me a Tempestus Scion is more iconic than an Ork or Necron. Mostly, however, I just really, really want to see them do a Tyranid in this style. Might even continue buying random packs until I had one in that case...

I assumed they Chibi-figures wouldd be around the same sort of size as Funko Mystery Minis and similar stuff to that, have i got something wrong or are they smaller at 2 inches?. They're nice figures (even though the style is something I usually dislike) and there are a few I'd like to have, but if they're a smaller size than Funko stuff then that combined with the randomization of them is a bit offputting to me.

Models we saw on display are three-ups, makes sense that these are so small, they need to go into those capsules after all.

Pre-orders next month, wonder which dealers will be carrying it.

Looks great! It'll probably be unreasonably priced so I'll pass though.

~$65-100 going by their Figuarts prices. Same price range as any other high end, highly articulated collector's figure.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So that people have an idea of what to expect:

Figuarts Thanos here is an 8" tall Bandai figure with the same style of articulation, most likely using the same materials, and most likely with the same bulk(maybe less than the Marine thanks to shoulder pads). He included 3 pairs of hands, 3 different faces, and the sword. He retailed for $95 USD. Drop the face swapping, and I'd put it around $80-85 for the Marine.

It looks cool, though there seems to be a bit of shading that may well be the result of being a 3D printed hand painted prototype (which it obviously is).

It's beautiful and yeah, could do with a few washes.

Depending on price, will have to get one, would make for the perfect pointless Christmas gift.

Nice-looking, disappointing it's Primaris (yes we've known about this for months, but still) and horribly overpriced, not to mention buying one encouraged GW to continue their present practices. Hard pass.

I fully understand the idea for a basic Space Marine, but to get any kind of money out of me in that range...it'd have to be something way the hell more interesting. A dirty Space Wolf Terminator, or something with some kind of cool factor. Ultramarines/Primaris basic fella ain't getting it done.

I on the other hand may well consider getting one if it helps in GW and Bandai collaborating further, some Xenos or Imperial Guard would be ideal but even accessories for said Primaris (pistol, sword, jetpack etc) would also be interesting.

Let's be honest, knowing my luck they'll release a bloody Stormcast!

I'll consider getting one if the price isn't too horrible. With luck, this won't be a ond and done type thing, either. I'm also very interested in those keshi figures. I need an SD Eversor.

As long as I get some more accessories I'm so fething on board with buying one.

Even with the complaints (not dismissing them btw) I imagine this will sell out in pre-order. I suppose that could be good though because then maybe they will make other matching scale figures. Hopefully not just Marines either. I wouldn't mind a Fire Warrior or even, god forbid, a Crisis Suit. That isn't going to happen but a girl can dream.

Just so. I'm not too interested in this specific one, but I hope it does well because there is no shortage of subsequent stuff I would want.

I'm sure it will. GW can do no wrong, apparently. Materialism is a powerful drug.

So repaint this one? Plenty of action figure customizer guides out there. Most important thing to remember is sanding extra material to give your joints room for your clear coats.

Honestly, I doesn't make sense for Bandai to release a paint your own figure as custom figures are notoriously hard to keep the paint job undamaged and still usable as figures, especially the higher end super articulated ones like this. It's doable, but the average consumer would just prefer a model for that(hence their Figure Rise series of models).

Any news on how widespread they will be? Or what stores will carry them? Might be able to get some clearance ones later down the road.

It's Bandai, so for the US that means most likely Barnes & Noble, eBgames, online stores like Big Bad Toy Store, and GW stores.

I’m not sure now I’ve seen it. It’s just a poorly painted smurf marine. Yes it’s big and I’ve always wanted a large marine display figure, but this looks so very bland.

Cozy cockpit of an Imperial Knight

Coming up for preorder next weekend: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/09/29/coming-soon-grym-watchers-abominable-intelligence-sporty-saurus-and-an-action-figure/

Earlier this week, we told you all about the awesome Space Marines Primaris Intercessor action figure that is being made under license by Bandai. Now, we can reveal he is going to be available to order from Saturday!

We’ll have more details later in the week on exactly how you can get your hands on this incredible, 8-inch-tall poseable model. Make sure you’ve got space on your shelf!
Bit earlier than expected, so chances are it'll sell out over the weekend but will hopefully be available once more around Christmas.

I didn't notice if anyone reported it or not, but the JPY price has been circulated. Expect retail to be ¥11,000. Looks like Japanese preorders should be up by 10/5.

Price is about what I expected. I was hoping it'd be a bit less since there's no die cast or anything to really bump the price that high. It's just kinda big. Size expected to be about 8". Here's hoping that by the time I get to go to Japan, I'll be able to snag one on markdown.

Also, chibis should be releasing around November.
