I'm currrently leaning towards the black/grey so its not just a stock standard Cadian colorscheme but I kind of like the black/red too. I was going for a kind of Brotherhood of Nod from Command and Conquer look, not sure how well I captured it.

I like it , make the tanks and vehicles predominantly grey with spots of black with the unit numbers in white or colors for divisions.

I like the Black/Red most, but the Black/Grey is cool too. Either one would be a good scheme but I suggest the Black/Red. The red makes it pop a bit and I rather like that.

One thing with guard to consider with the scheme is how the tanks are gonna look.

red might be a bit 'chaosy/blood pact' looking.

black and grey work well i think. Don't use the contrast paints on armour ofc so have a think about what will match on tanks from the normal line of paints

I like the black and grey one because that's how I painted my Cadians twenty years ago.

I don't know about other people but I find red uniforms on Guard too flashy. Cool for Inquisition Stormtroopers, but doesn't go well with Cadians in my opinion.

The black and grey looks okay, but needs a stand-out colour. Either one shoulder pad, or a stripe down a shoulder pad, etc. Also, would need to be on a non-black/non-urban base or it'll all melt into itself. It's really hard to make black/grey interesting. The basic Cadian scheme is miserable and boring. That red is definitely too vibrant/strong to be attractive.

Add some white/black tiger stripes to the black/grey scheme and you’ve got the necomundian 8th.

Go classic, paint spiders!

I echo Nevelon, but I am also biased and somewhat mad...as doing the tiger striping like the Rogue Trader guard does require a bit of insanity. If you look at my Necromundian Army log you will see why.

I now recommend simple schemes...or putting the tiger stripes on your veterans.

Good luck,

Painting really nice tiger stripes like yours might be hard, but you can phone in a reasonable table-top level stripe with just a little effort.

Spoiler:

Kinda give the impression of a real tiger stripe pattern, but with almost none of the work!

Thanks for the feedback and advice everybody! Really appreciate it!

I didn't realize how close I was to the necromundian color scheme, that's pretty cool. I might do the black/grey primarily and use red as an accent to add a splash of my own flavour and color.

One more vote for the Black/Grey.
Give em a red gun and some small gold accents, they'll look spiffy and dead ard.

Would work just fine, but I'd consider adding some color to make it more visually appealing, perhaps adding a simple camo pattern like this in tan color over the fatigues, leaving the armor black
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rain_pattern (the upper one)

Depends on the regiments' origin and your painting skills, but making a ton is thin lines is rather patience-challengíing than difficult.

I dont think my painting skills are good enough to do stripes or camo that would look any good unfortunately.

Nonsense, doing short stripes is easy. And one can't improve their skills without trying in the first place. The pattern doesn't have to be so dense as it was IRL, of course.

I am a horrifically bad painter and even I have managed to pull off a semi-convincing urban camo look on my Basilisk and my 'Vindicare'.

Spoiler:

Anyway, I also vote black/grey and also think you need a spot colour. I use red/green.

I put a little more work into the black/grey test guardsmen. I'm trying out a red lasgun because my Dark Angels Space Marines use red bolters so this would kind of tie them together if I ever allied them. I think it also brings in a nice splash of color.

I personally would probably paint the stock a different colour, but it looks good as is.

I really wasn't sure what color to do the stock in, I was worried a black or grey stock would just get lost in the armor/uniform.

Paint it brown. Wooden stocks are still cool.

The black/grey will probably be enough.
I did brown/grey like your black/grey, so colour-in the grown bits. Maybe do my green bits in red.

I base-coated the grey, did the brown and black, tidied up, and washed the lot on Nuln Oil.
Flesh was done somewhere along the way, and washed with a flesh wash.

These veterans were head-swapped with scion berets, but using the same scheme:
