I always loved crafting terrain. Over the years I've made quite a lot of tables for the clubs I've been playing with.

Lastly, I've discovered there is a Fablab near home, with a freely available lasercutter!!
No more hand made itmes for me
So I began making some blueprints and I printed them...

Turned out better than I first imagined:

One thing I have always wondered about MDF terrain - how do you paint it? By which i mean, how do you paint it without covering up the laser etched detail? Or does that show through the paint?

The etchings are actually comparatively large. The last few pieces I painted (using GW paints) got a coat of spray primer, a fairly thick basecoat, two washes and two to four drybrushed coats and that didn't visibly fill in any etched detail.

Those look great! I've ordered a variety of similar products and those look every bit as good... can't wait to see them with paint!
