Nice entries guys, I'm especially loving that Valkyrie - very well weathered.

I'm calling my entry finished. I felt like I was cutting it a bit fine this month but I've finished with a few days to spare. I'm particularly pleased with this one - the Island of Blood High Elf Prince on Griffon, that's been sitting in my unpainted pile for the better part of a decade. It feels good to get it painted finally.

Nice, I like those feathers and the front leg skin. Also kinda wondering how you did the cat body, because I've been trying and failing to get that sorta style for my kitties for a while now.

Thanks! The cat body was basecoated by airbrush with Vallejo Model Air Middlestone. I brush painted my shadows and highlights in a fairly loose, broad-strokes sort of manner, not perfectly blended, and also painted on the spots. Then I airbrushed another thin coat of VMA Middlestone over the top to achieve the blending.

Wow great stuff this month! Love that griffin- the feathers and spots look phenomenal, really brings it to life.

Not super happy with mine, but it is done enough for now! It was very fun to do a 1/72nd scale model again, and I wouldn't have done it except for this challenge! This is a really fun addition to my bolt action soviet force.

I'll not be able to complete my entry. Got some rl issues and just realized it's the last weekend of the month. However, really like this challenge and will try to do better next time. Quite some nice results so far. Keep it up everyone!

I managed to finish my entry sooner than usual. I had quite fun painting the piranha. I bought some oil paints a while ago but I never
got to use them. I did the streaking effects with the oils and I'm quite happy how it turned out and I'll say they are very forgiving
in the way you apply them.

I always thought (don't know why) that decals are hard to use but on the contrary are quite easy. I did a mix of decals and freehand
red markings.

So I’ve finished the Thunderbolts, but these aren’t the final pics, because; a) I may have time to finish the Marauders before Tuesday and b) my computer is currently “attempting repairs” after I downloaded the main pictures of my camera. But iPhone photos as a progress update!

Wow, some fantastic stuff here.
I love your griffon rider, Bellerephon - I have one of those that has also been sitting there waiting for some love for years. You have done a great job!
Modock - a bit of a departure for you recently. The directional weathering is fantastic. Great painting as always from you.
I also love your dragon Vejut - every month I look forward to seeing the unique minis you bring to the table.
Jadenim - those flyers are great, look forward to seeing the others.
Can't wait for your suppressors either, Zerg.

Anyhow, life has been a right pain lately, with family crises and having to work through my lunchtimes (which is usually my only painting time). I had grand plans for this month to paint some Scourges for my Dark Eldar army but just have not had time to do anything. Instead, I am going to try to finish this TIE fighter by tomorrow! I have an idea that looks good in my head, but we'll have to see if it turns out in real life...

Thanks Chris.
It's like a breeze of fresh air painting something different and trying some new techniques, It always boosts my motivation and passion.

Sorry to hear that, I hope everything goes well. Regarding your entry I'm sure it will look fantastic like it always does.

Entered my first in store painting competition today at one of my flgs. 4 hours to paint a random marine in store colours (yellow and purple). Only these paints to use.
Mechanicus Standard Grey
Administratum Grey
Dawnstone
Leadbelcher
Bugman's Glow
Ushabti Bone
White Scar
Ceramite White
Xereus Purple
Averland Sunset
Flash Gitz Yellow
Seraphim Sepia

It was a really fun challenge and I got third place with my quartered scheme! Really interesting how many different yellow and purple shades were created from the same list of paints.

Absolutely lovely stuff. You can practically hear the John Williams! That fresh blaster mark is a great touch.

As promised, here are the final pics of my Dark Angels Suppressor squad:

They totally aren't compensating for anything with those big autocannons. Honest! I'm just glad to get done with these models. Getting them to stay on their flight stands was a royal pain in the ass. I'm fairly happy with how they turned out, although as usual for me the fairly subtle edge highlights are hard to see in the photos.

Some pretty cool stuff coming in from everyone else too. That T-47 Airspeeder from feltmonkey in particular is incredible! Gonna be a great month for voting!

So the “attempted repairs” failed and my computer is as dead as a Norwegian Blue (at least for the next few days), so I’m afraid you’ll have to use those photos as my final ones

Great colours, JustALittleOrkish - they look very cool.
I thing the edge highlights look good, Zerg, especially on the feet and lower legs.

@feltmonkey - that is one cool snowspeeder! I love the battle damage and the canopy panes on the cockpit, with the tiny cracks in the glass.

Anyhow, here is my TIE fighter - the colour scheme is based on an episode of the Disney cartoon - Rebels. It is not identical and very rushed but I'm pretty happy with it as an overnighter.
Hope everyone likes it and see you all next month!

No vote for the next month, it'll be the traditional annual Halloween round. So basically anything scary, spooky or otherwise frightening. Sorry, thought I'd mentioned that earlier in the month, but it seems I didn't.

I need to paint a Land Raider for Armies on Parade next month, so I'm wracking my brains for some way to justify it as Halloween themed. I suppose a Land Raider would be terrifying in real life. I'm also planning on doing some freehand on it, and the prospect of trying that is filling me with a cold dread...

Thanks for the lovely feedback on my Snowspeeder, Para, Modock, and Chris. I went pretty route-one with it, a true to the movie look. Seeing Chris' psychedelic Tie Fighter makes me wish I'd broken out the fluorescent paints.

Paint the driver as Chevy Chase and do a Dark Angels vacation theme.....that’s scary
