So I was rebasing some of my Warcry mini's trying to make a really nice base for them. I cut the minis off essentially destroying the base in the process, thinking no big deal I can find bases. But I can't find 28mm bases anywhere. Anyone have any idea? I don't want slot bases.

Until GW starts selling them separately, eBay would probably be your best bet. I don't think any other manufacturer does 28mm.

Kromlech sells HDF Bases with a very fair price:

5 € for 50 x 25mm.

At least that's what I use

I believe GW uses bases of 25mm diameter and 32mm diameter for human-sized models. If you're searching for "28mm bases" you probably won't find anything, but if you search for "25mm bases" and "32mm bases" you should get better results.

WarCry has added 28mm bases.

How badly do you care about the proper size?

28mm is a really weird size for a base, before Warcry I had never heard of it before.

GW is a really weird company when it comes to base sizes. Seems like trying to make stuff incompatible intentionally to me.

Honestly you're not far off. It's why, even with games like 40K I generally ignore the base sizes issued by GW and use aftermarket bases in 25/30/40mm sizes, etc.

For a skirmish game like this I don't see why you'd lose anything going to a 32 or a simple 30mm. It's not going to impact the gameplay at all. However, I would measure any terrain included in the box and see if there are terrain restrictions where a slightly larger base wouldn't fit, etc.

Yeah, I am the same. I rebase the stuff onto 25mm or just don't buy the stuff that would not fit onto that.

There are also aftermarket/3rd party 30mm bases out there, and easily obtained.

Oh, really? I didn't realise that. What a strange thing to do.
