From Dan Verssen Games come a new solo friendly game about Valkyries (Battlemech style walking tanks). Also featuring modern day tanks, IFV and SP artillery fighting alongside the "mechs". Not sure about the scale, but it looks being close to the Battlemech scale.

The game is lighter in rules than Battletech, so propably plays faster. Also, lots of tiny tanks supporting the mechs. US vs RU as the base game, with Japan and EU mechs coming in add ons.

You can play solo against an AI opponent and can freely choose your side. By ditching the AI cards a second player can play the OpFor. Bigger games can add more players, I think.

So if big mechs interest you check it out.

I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person.
That's what it says: A horrible person...
We weren't even testing for that.

Do they have a pledge for just the vehicle minis?

No, they don't have vehicle only pledge level.
Like with any kickstarter that is trying to get a funding on the actual game, and not just a miniatures line...

Interesting, slightly. Gotta say the aesthetics are pretty underwhelming though.

Yeah. Reminds me a lot of older battletech mechs (which is not a good thing). To the point that they look like mix-and-match frankenmechs of various BT designs.

Also

Probably plays faster? That's... a really uncertain endorsement, especially given how obtuse the unit data sheets are.

Maybe their mistake is trying to fund a whole game from the get go without any prebuilt interest and no foot-in-the-door options?

Well, this is actually the second run at Valkyrie. The first time DVG ran it on Kickstarter, the campaign flopped, and they canceled the Kickstarter. I'm not seeing anything to catch my interest the second time around, either...

It seems kind of weird that it's 2060 and there are massive walking battle mechs, but the Americans and Russians are still using tanks from the 1970s and 80s.

Should have just set the year as 20XX.

Or 1996 with no explanation.

Well, I haven't played Battletech in years (decades?), so I don't remember how long a Battletech game takes… But there were a lot of book keeping when I played it (the original, with standees).

This game plays fast and you track only the mech damage. There are power cubes to mark systems as used (each weapon can fire only once per turn and you might run out of power cubes so you have to watch for that) and the missile pods have ammo. So simple book keeping, I think.

The Small things (tanks, IFVs, recon and SP guns) get destroyed with a hit that penetrates their armour (+ dust cover/speed from moving fast).

I watched the 3 game playthrough videos and the game moves on fast.

All the modern stuff is already destroyed by the Valkyries and they had to dig up these from the mothballs?

Anyway, I'm sure they just wanted their tanks/IFVs/SPguns to be recognisable. If they invented some generic future tanks and stuff, people would complain about that too.

Oh, I had actually forgotten the previous attempt as it was several years ago. I went to check the previous KS (cancelled) and comparing the two kickstarters, it looks to me like the game rules have gotten a good amount of updating during the downtime. Which is to be expected, of course.

DCG is a very respected game company, especially for Solo or campaign games. I've got several from them and eagerly await my Warfighter package to arrive.
That said, they are not a miniatures company. There are usually none at all and if, then they are just game pieces. So they lack the bling that many people expect here.
If you are more into the rules, than the minis, then this is a very good choice. Else, wait for CMONs next offering.

This looks very interesting - like the models /(old Btech model fan), faster gameplay and the ability to do solo play.

It never ends well
