Game Nerdz has a listing, but not taking orders. Odd. I suspect they will go 'live' with the listing soon enough. Have patience. Everything is more than just a little 'off' right now... I just finished my grocery shopping at the Wegman's. A whole lot of empty in that store. And the strangest things too. Who buys up all the lemons?

Also, Game Nerdz is currently not taking Operation Kaldstrom pre-orders and I can't find this on Miniature Market - anyone else able to find it there?

CB always starts the Pre-orders on their site and then takes a day or two for them to show up in the US at least. I think part of it is the stores not knowing what their allocated pre-order amounts will be and if that falls on CB or the distributor I'm not sure. But the last several years it's always been like this State side.

Edit: wow one sentence there I never even finished.

I'm getting kaldstrom, that's a given, but looking at the preorder cost of the Dire Foes box - $70au - seems really steep to me. I'd appreciate having the Beyond box content known so I can make a decision between that the DF box.

I decided to skip the Dire Foes box. I don’t love the models really, and the Beyond box art was much more exciting. I’m hoping we find out the contents this week, even if we don’t see the models yet. Bostria said ‘soon’ on the forum but who knows what that means.

I'm going to find someone to split that box with. Then I'm adding that Troll Hunter to my SW army.

Here's a video. It has the PanO army setup.

I'll transcribe the army list in a bit. The list is just for Code One.

PANOCEANIA CODE ONE ARMY LIST

Fusiliers
Nokken Special Recon and Intervention Team
Kamau Amphibious Intervention Unit
Vargar Maximum Security Team
Akalis, Sikh Commandos
Svalarheima Nisse
Infirmarers of Saint Lazarus
ORC Troops
Boyg Soldiers
Knight of Justice
Aquila Guard
Swiss Guard
Cutters
Locust, Clandestine Action Team
Croc-Men
Trauma-Docs
Machinists
Pathfinder, Sierra, Clipper, and Fugazi Dronbots
Palbots
Troll-Hunter Gunnar Lundmark
Liang Kai, Wandering Monk
Kunai Solutions Ninjas

For those interested:

The big guy is a "Boyg Soldier" while the little guy is a "Vargar Maximum Security Team".
Some of us on the official forum played a game of Sherlock Holmes With Way Too Much Free Time and made the connection, after discovering that a "Boyg" is a kind of gnome/troll from Scandanavian folklore.

Cutters, not Squalos? That's a strange choice even if there's a new Cutter model on the way, which I imagine there will be.

The Sphinx, Cutter, Zeta, and a "Blue Wolf" are confirmed to be coming this year.

Not sure why the Squalo, a NCA TAG, would be getting attention with this set...especially since it's a new sculpt compared to the ancient Cutter.

I would've thought a smaller TAG, like the Uhlan would have been better suited, myself.

Wild speculation on my part for Barzam's thinking:
Because the Uhlan is not an Aquatic themed TAG linked to Varuna, doesn't have Thermo-Optic Camouflage, and is a Silhouette 6 TAG rather than S7.

There's a lot of reasons it makes more sense for the Squalos. The Squalos is still a pretty recent resculpt (plus I didn't know the Cutter was being redone soon). The Squalos was one of the very first Infinity models ever produced, it wasn't even called a Squalos just Armored Cavalry, it's been THE definition of a vanilla PanO TAG for pretty much the entire games' existence. Also C1 is supposed to be a streamlined, simplified version limited to the core units, having a TO TAG instead of the bog-standard base model is a little strange. Then again, according to the Mayacast interview Code One is only new stuff as it comes out, not a generic vanilla version of each army. It's a marketing thing, more than anything. It's a neat gimmick for retailers/distributors to know what is considered core units and Bostria says that is the explicit intent behind the black boxes with Code One printed on them, so in that light it makes sense to have the Cutter if they're resculpting it soon rather than reboxing the existing Squalos

Speaking of, that Mayacast interview was really odd. Bostria repeatedly said that C1 will be great for veterans as well as newbies, yet it is only including new stuff pretty much as it's released, the next 4 armies aren't getting C1 rules till next year when a new 2-player set releases. Tom specifically asked about people that bought N3 stuff and didn't like the game but were looking forward to C1, Bostria said that they hadn't even thought about that, and later brushed it off when Tom asked how existing Nomads players would be able to play C1. But C1 is meant for veterans too. But they're only doing rules for new stuff. But Veterans shouldn't just brush C1 away, it's meant for them too.

I'm normally 100% on board with Bostria, love that guy, but that was a really strange interview with a lot of mixed signals, and I suspect a lot of people here in this thread are expecting a lot more out of Code One than they're going to get.

I dunno why being linked to Varuna has anything to do with it (Code One units aren’t linked to a specific sectorial by the looks of things) and I also don’t really see why S6 is any better suited for Code One than S7 (plus the Zeta TAG for O-12 is S7, so we know there was at least one S7 TAG anyway). TO camo I kinda get, but there’s also other TO camo units in Code One.

The Zeta is the only TAG that O-12 has currently, while PanO isn't hurting for options(Squalo, Seraph, Jotum) that can get rules for Code One nor are YJ(whose TAG the "Blue Wolf" is said to be a S6 TAG) or Combined Army(Sphinx is a pretty small TAG).

Additionally, while Code One units "aren't linked to a specific sectorial", the promo stuff has emphasized the units being themed around Kaldstrom and the environment there.

It's worth mentioning that the army list I brought up? It's mostly the stuff present in Icestorm and Beyond Icestorm. The exception to that is the Crocman, Locust(who never got a fair shake really), Bolt(there's one in Beyond but it seems to be forgotten as usual), and the bots+doctors.

In this case, the Uhlan doesn’t make any more sense than the Cutter, seeing as it’s also not from Svalarheima, and it should be the Jotum.

And yes, I know the Zeta is the only TAG O-12 have, but it’s clear there’s not some S6 limit for Code One. I still don’t understand why S6 is somehow any more suitable for C1 than S7 is?

Edit: in other news:
Given the current circumstances arising from the health crisis COVID.19, we have decided to give our distributors and stores access to our exclusive miniature "Liang Kai Wandering Shaolin Monk" We understand that we are living in a historic moment and that now more than ever we need to support our distribution network and shops.

I don't think C1 is being terribly tied down to the Kaldstorm theme, it just happens to be what's releasing next, and C1 is looking more and more like "new releases system" more than "core units system" or they'd have rules for ALL the 2-player sets+beyonds from N3 at release instead of just the Wildfire and Kaldstrom sets.

Bostria mentions that the old 2player+beyond sets are being combined then split into base faction sets of 300 points, I wonder if they're going to switch the Bolt paramedic out with a Locust or Croc Man? Otherwise you have a Bolt in a C1 box with no C1 rules

The Uhlan's sectorial is about to be cut, so it makes a bit more sense than the Cutter does...especially since the Uhlan is one that has been really needing a rejig in terms of its availability to players. The same thing goes for the Tikbalang, if I'm going to be honest, which got shuffled off to the Military Orders once Shock Army got canned.

You're latching onto one particular part while ignoring the rest. I even prefaced my post that it was wild speculation as to why Barzam might be thinking that the Uhlan would make more sense than the Cutter.

Yeah, wonder why I’m ‘latching on’ to the size part.

It doesn’t matter anyway. I was just curious as to Barzam’s reasoning for the smaller TAG being a better fit.

To be fair, he might actually be referring to the size of the model rather than the silhouette there as well. I said silhouette for my part because there's a weird mentality for some new players where they latch onto the silhouette as being evidence of the power of a unit.

Looking at you S5 Heavy Infantry...

Maybe some (a lot? all?) of the new SKUs will be 'locked' into a box?

It's also possible that some of these will replace old SKUs the way the Tanko and Haramaki went.
