Subject: 2022 Infinity News and Rumors -- Starts Page 52.
It's a strange map as they've gone really normal with the land, but very stylish with the water that sort of makes it clash and appear not as water, esp when viewed larger.
Also its a map without any names or scale or contextual information. I think that's what they are missing. Less arty, but putting place names, cities, towns, settlements, forests, woods, mystical regions.
Heck go further put place names, roadways, territories of various kingdoms and provinces.
You know some meat on the bones of the map to orientate people to what the setting holds and what is where. Plus all that kind of stuff to generate chatter about what the different factions might be and regions might contain etc...
A Warcrow N&R should happen when the KS launches in a few months. Until then, discussing it here is fine. There is certainly plenty of Infinity news too, if one just goes back one page.
I'll mention that there are updates to the N4 rulebook a few weeks ago, and an update to the Fireteam rules about a month ago. I already posted that info, but here it is again.
There is a forthcoming Studio Update later this week, but it may be more WarCrow teasers... yeah, it will be more WarCrow teasers, but it should have some Infinity news too. Maybe some MO news, including the Kyle Hawkins mini. Vamos a ver.
May releases. Morats and the ITS pack, Frozen Roads ( take me home, to the place where I belong...) are new. Everything else is a repack.

June Releases
-Nokken spitfire
-ADHL Bluecoat
-Bultrak Morat TAG -Marut
-Shinobu Kitsune with head options, hat and no hat
In July there will be a Pan-O character box, with the MO Grandmaster (Grandmistress, actually, and not a playable profile, just a HVT. We can call her Jaqueline de Molay) the MO Curator (Curatrix) and Kyle Hawkins. The box is a variant on the Dire Foes template.
Spoiler:
This Kyle Hawkins mini. Not to my taste. That pose is insipid. The mini is too Space Marinesque. Ah well, at least he is not bald and screaming.
There is also the Shikami
Spoiler:
This is definitely the display case version not the take to tournaments version.

I don't know if there is any official ruling or intrathread consensus whether this is a CB news thread or Infinity only but the first (that I know of) 3d model render pic for Warcrow is at about the 9:25 mark.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Apparently made in pvc plastic. No idea if that references the Aristeia style or the more recent Siocast.

Well, all of these teaser have left me rather uninterested.
Only skipped through the video without sound, are the coloured stats explained? Are these different special dice and not normal Dx dice? Because the card, ability and PVC sure sound like a board game, and not like a wargame.
That's also a very boring sculpt imo. Mix of WarCraft and Warmachine aesthetics, vanilla screaming pose.

Was hoping for their usual art style just fantasy-fied (Or better yet, going really anime like their Full Metal Kozmo figure from the Aristeia line), not a clunky Warmahordes rip-off.
Hopefully that's just the style of that particular faction and the rest are better, but that's really dented my enthusiasm.

Interesting, because my first thought looking at it (and the rest of my group, really) was "we were hoping for something a bit more than infinity-but-fantasy".
Apparently made in pvc plastic. No idea if that references the Aristeia style or the more recent Siocast.
I thought they said it will be siocast? As to the model - I am not a fan. Hopefully others will be more interesting.
Thanks. Honestly, I fast forwarded after the first minute when I thought it might be more cringey content like the last half dozen videos. I stopped at the render preview and listened for a bit hearing the PVC part and then fast forwarded again to the end looking for more pics.

I'm even worse. I fast forwarded (skips every 10s) as mentioned above so I went without sound and 90% of the video, lol.

The first game released in this setting is a board game; a dungeon crawler. They've said this multiple times, and that the models in that game will be PVC. After the dungeon crawler will be a full wargame, with models to be released in SioCast. I seem to remember them mentioning at the Adepticon announcement that the boardgame/dungeon crawler models would be possibly usable in the wargame, but no real details.
As for the colored stats, yes, they mentioned that they're all d8 and the colors have a different set of symbols on it. So, for the dungeon crawler at least, this sounds like custom dice. There's no indication on whether or not the eventual wargame will use the same dice or stats, though.
FWIW, I personally am not interested in the dungeon crawler/boardgame, but holding a "wait and see" attitude for the wargame. They did say at Adepticon as well that is is not just a fantasy reskin of Infinity, so if you're expecting the same Action/ARO system, it will not be there.

Well I'm very glad you guys aren't in charge of designing this game because I like what little they've shown for it. Not sure why you guys think it's "too Warcraft, not anime enough", she's about as 90s fantasy anime as you get. Looks exactly like how I'd expect dwarves in heavy armor to look ike in Record of Lodoss War or Slayers, like a heavier and more detailed version of Parn or Ashram's half-plate armor. And she looks very much in place with contemporary anime-inspired shows like The Dragon Prince. I dig it.
And I dig the PVC choice, my Defiance stuff is STILL all sitting in the box untouched because I don't want to fiddle with all that metal, meanwhile I've painted almost a dozen HIPS and PVC games. If every game could just come out in ASoIaF quality PVC figures I'd be the happiest gamer ever.
I'm not sure what people were really expecting? Looks very much like if CB designed a fantasy game, hard sharp edges everywhere for example, but one model doesn't really tell us much. I think the only thing that I wasn't expecting was the over designed weapon that steps away from their more practical weapon design.

Garbage anime design is exactly what I was hoping it wouldn't be. If I remember correctly (and I may not) Warcrow was originally an historical 15mm game. Just because Infinity is anime doesn't mean everything they put out should be.
If someone would put out fantasy PVC figures with ASoIF quality DESIGNS, I'd be the happiest gamer ever. lol

Warcrow wasn't the 15mm historical line but 28mm "garbage" anime designs as I have a bunch from the old line.
examples from that old line to set expectations for the new line appear to be needed:

I was misremembering then. Still, those examples are crappy Rackham knock offs. Rackham replacements already exist (and Confrontation is coming back it seems), so no real reason to go that direction either. Either way, seems this won't be for me so I'll bow out of the thread for now.
Seams like what you're really hoping is for Dark Sword Minis to make a plastic line as they do all the ASoIF mini designs and a lot of their other lines look similar.

I would indeed not mind that.
I also wouldn't mind well sculpted Rackham-esque figures. The examples you provided are showing their age quite a bit. I just don't see much point in CB doing that when there are others (including official ones) out there already. My preference however leans much more heavily towards realistic designs, true.
My jury is still out on this, but I'm generally a fan of dice pool mechanics, custom dice or no. I rather liked the Defiance mechanics for their Infinity "dungeon crawler."
As for the style of the first mini, yes, very Warmachine-esque, but then again, there are only so many ways to do hex-tech dwarves.
We'll see when further mini previews are available.
