Subject: 2022 Infinity News and Rumors -- Starts Page 52.
Is N4 the most played version, or has CODE ONE taken over?
Infinity seems to be "quieter" than ever, if that makes sense?
In terms of promotion, it seems like they're focusing on their upcoming fantasy game for the past couple of months. I haven't counted but, now that you mention it, it does feel like there are less new Infinity release videos on my youtube feed since Spring but admittedly that might just be subjective on my part.
Has the monthly release quantity changed for Infinity? They're definitely still releasing new models every month.

How many of the releases are new and how many are resculpting older stuff,
i'm not a player and dont follow Infinity too closely but the feeling i get is there's more fiddling with existing stuff and less brand new content which, however good it is, doesn't generate the same level of excitement

I stopped playing with N4 as Code One wasn't enough of a simplification for me and the game was too lifestyle for my friends and I to keep playing and it's really felt that the majority of the stuff since N4 has just been resculpts. You can only get so excited about yet another Morat redesign.
It feels like they hit their SKU limit and have been treading water keeping the game a manageable size for retail and trying to go the side game route but those are all Kickstarter Exclusive stuff that only generates excitement during the campaign and maybe around delivery so there's a lot of dead air until the Tag game gets delivered and they run another Kickstarter. I'd love to have a smaller game in their world, less models, less complex -- this is something GW has been doing very well. But CB doesn't seam interested in that.

I'm ok with them refreshing sculpts since the rules are free and you can still use your old minis no problem. I don't personally distinguish between a resculpt of an old model/unit and a completely new one but admittedly I don't play so....

I was conflicted about Code One. By design, it's supposed to be a simplification but it just felt pruned and not a better, simpler game. I was just missing things (especially units/models). I don't think I'll be able to adequately express what I was hoping for but it wasn't just N4 with whole sections/paragraphs digitally cut out. I was expecting a similar game that played more simply and with less nonsensical linguistic complexity just for the sake of complexity. Instead, it feels like you're just playing an intro version with parts left out on purpose which is what they were going for. YMMV. As for the Morat redesign, I'm actually excited about those for what it's worth just like the other resculpts.

True. I had mentioned the fantasy game above as part of why it feels a bit less dynamic as of late but didn't think to mention the other kickstarters. Except for a few sculpts, the TAG crowdfunder was a miss for me just like Defiance.

N3 games generally took 3 to 3.5 hours to play for my group. That was playing at least once a month for a year. That way too long for my tastes. 60min is about ideal.
Smaller game would be easier to fit in that time frame but simplified rules would be much better. But with 5 parsecs from home being a thing that's likely where I'll use my infinity stuff.

"When did that get too big?" When Ariadna camo spam became a thing. Just tedious to play against. I have no idea how N4 plays, since I have not had a chance to even try it. :(
Try the limited insertion format for a quicker game. Single battlegroup, limited to 10 models total. Still worth playing at 300 that way; you just end up with more power armor and the like.

Agree.
They are focusing so much on the Heores but we know that they will be from multiple factions.
The bad guys will all belong to the same faction. Their group shot is the best preview of an army we can get by now.
They should make a group shot of the enemies so we can decide if we like the looks of that.
If I see a cool looking army that might be another reason to consider backing the KS campaign.

Pretty much my thoughts too. I'm fine with app based stuff if the app was open source so the community could maintain it as soon as the company that made it looses intrest (as apple/google tend to have a 5 year cycle where unmaintained apps get removed from the stores and are no longer usable).

Watched video for 44 seconds... app controlled? Nope, just skip it. I dont need phones, mobiles, computers in my tabletop life, just spoils all the immersion.
Love the system for WCA. The initiative system stands out as particularly good.
Not terribly thrilled with the app, but it looks like it simply supplies fog of war for the game. Should be pretty easy to circumvent with a little creativity.

Admittedly, I don't follow too closely but have non-crowdfunded releases slowed down a bit? I used to see multiple outlets previewing upcoming minis on youtube every month and I don't really see that anymore. Are they focusing more on the crowdfunded games like TAG RAID and the upcoming/ongoing Warcrow?
I remember being impressed by the Diablos previewed a while back and didn't see anything under that name pop up in a search of their webstore. I've love to get my hands on one of these fine gentlemen for RPG purposes!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Looks like just an observation bias on my part due to a lack of videos on my feed. Releases are still coming out at a fast monthly pace but no diablos (or even renders?) that I've found so far.
