Cool to see more Death army stuff coming, that isn't spooky ghosts or skeletons.

The new crypt ghouls in shadespire looked better than the current ones, but only a couple actually looked like they thought they were knights. I feel like the whole army needs a reboot.

I'm going to say some kind of elf cav or foresty monster. But specifically not an undead thing.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a horror-themed announcement made at the tail end of October to break the drought after many weeks of Necrons and Marines releases as a glimpse for what next year might hold for AoS players.

It isn't just that. Covid caused GW to shift the cow elves and giants way back, and GW hasn't announced anything further.
Once the giants have actually been out for a week or two, I'm sure there will be AoS news. Presumably these new 'pirate ghouls' or whatever they are.

Varghulf or something like it and in that size range. That base is pretty huge. In fact there's an awful lot of base around that thin leg... wtf.

To me it reminds like some column or the handle of some kind of hammer/axe of an statue since it seems to be quite rectangular with the threaded shape.

Is it a Guppy?

Makes me think of something Beastclaw. They tend to have a few vulture bits and pieces on their models.

The Kairic Acolytes already have a similar birdie (https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/catalog/product/920x950/99120201063_KairicAcolytes03.jpg) - though they have a plastic kit and have been featured in Underworlds already, so it would likely be a new character or something for Warcry if it's them. Could well just be a regular vulture of course (if something so ordinary exists in AoS).

Reaper Miniatures does a bunch of small animals (mostly metal, some in their Bones plastic). https://www.reapermini.com/search/familiar

Gathering the Informations.

Kairic Acolytes have a specific creature called a "Vulcharc".

This looks closer to the Beastclaw Raiders creature, since it has the 'necktie' of feathers. Vulcharc, weirdly, looks like a plucked turkey on its underbelly and neck.

This might also just be something new, tying in to WarCry. I'd lean towards Ogors though.

Either Ogors or some undead hero or something for Warcry.

My guess is it has something to do with the undead. Maybe if these really are nautical themed undead a vulture is taking place of the captain’s parrot?

On a side note, I agree with whomever said we needs some more AoS/Warcry/Underworlds previews. I’ve stopped checking Warcom more than once or twice a week because it has been essentially six weeks of nothing but Necrons and Marines.

Possibly a reimagined Corpse Cart?

We definitely need new ‘wet dead’ in AoS.

Or even... new plastic zombies? No, I should not be hoping for that. Down that road, only disappointment awaits.

I am hopeful for new plastic Zombies. Current ones were, and you can tell I’m sincere because I don’t tend to criticise kits, crap when they were first released, and are still crap now!

:O heresy sir! I cry out at thou! Heresy!

They may have hands larger than their torsos but I love those zombies.

Would love a new Corpse Cart. It is such an iconic miniature that would really benefit from an AoS touchup.

"Wet Dead" in general would be nice, though.

That little bit of guts that came with it? The pitch forks? The face drum?? That's the stuff of heroes

Maybe they'll decide Luther Harkon made a secret zombie pirate realm..

I'm leaning toward Ogors. The Stonehorn had a nice vulture for falconry. Undead make sense too, though 9/10 times, their birds are half skeletons.

Prodos/Archon have a whole box of D&D styled animal companions (most with armour and items, and both fantasy and sci-fi build options).

I bought a Pathfinder set (made by Reaper I believe) as I needed a Mink.
They had a ferret so that’d do.
It had a cat, hawk, wolf and bat with I think.
They do loads of little animal sets..
