We'll find out soon enough eh.

The leader is brilliant, the guy with the dessication staff is, you know, fine, but honestly I'm not getting the appeal of the Subnautican. The little water bottles stapled all over him break up the silhouette, and the armour is very generic sci-fi - where's the anachronistic old-timey diving suit faceplate? Where's the brass filigree?

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

He’s not important enough for filigree; functional equipment only. As for the jars, could be pressure reservoirs for whatever hydraulic system powers the suit but, yeah, sticking out like that is kinda silly.

They're also not very secure. He's already got one broken.

Maybe the suits run on water? That would explain all the jars.

Maybe those water bottles protect him. Water being so valuable that no ganger could bring themselves to shatter them in battle? Or they run parts of the machine; it being a purification/filtration machine that's been reworked in a general battle and life support suit? Or he's got some kind of disease/addiction that requires a constant supply; or they are storage containers of various purifications for sampling ?

Gorgeous models, but the grating thing is the lack of effort to blend the tactical rock into the special base they used.

More like a torn piece of metal than a rock, but otherwise yes.

They're pretty much faithful to the artwork and I like them. I think they will be a hassle to build, though (so many small things that will clearly be separated, so many thin stuff that you're scared to push too much while cleaning them..).

Oh man! I don't even play Necromunda but I just gotta have these models. Absolutely stunning sculpts. They'll make for fine VIP's for 40K/KT missions at the very least.

As for the diver, they mention how they always keep their suits on, so my guess is they are water breathing mutants and they open the suits when they go underwater.

I'm assuming the Subnautican is not actually an Ogryn? There's no where for an Orgryn's head to fit and the head it does have is too small, it seems to be a regular-sized guy in a massive diving suit.

Same head size as normal human, so it's more like a chem up human, also have normal Will and Int stat of an average human, Not the usual "dumb" value like Goliath or Ogryn

In the Liber Xenologia book that just came out, there's a section dedicated to abhumans. Apparently, there's a strain of humanity that adapted to aquatic life and can breathe basically any liquid, even tar. They've got super hard skin, gills, etc. Though they wouldn't need any big suit, since they could probably get by disguising themselves as just the regular fully armored guild members. But I do like the idea that whatever is piloting the suit isn't your average human.

There's also whatever E. Slagmyst got turned into. A water vampire, that's more or less controlled by his sentient suit.

The big one is probably a lobo ogryn, kinda like the cybernetic head in the regular necromunda ogryn kit.

A lobo Ogryn have 10+ Int and Will. Subnautican have 7+ Int and Will. Which is on par with average human.

I just realized, both Ragnir Gunnstein and Scrutinator-Primus Servalen are shown on the Forgeworld site as "No Longer available"? That's quite a surprise, I would have thought they were fairly popular and wouldn't be discontinued so soon.

That doesn't mean they're gone. FW's site has been dicking about for a while showing the wrong status of items. It's been confirmed by them that stuff that shows as no longer available is just out of stock, not sold out.

It doesn't help that FW stuff going out of production also happens almost on a whim as well so it can be quite the panic seeing things suddenly listed sold out or vanishing and such. Plus sometimes even if FW want to bring it back sometimes it still vanishes - like one of the Necron Canoptek multi-legged units which is still in the new updated rule book; was going to return and then didn't :(

As a non-current Necromunda player, I've always wondered where the 3d-printed designs by Ghamak being sold by some sellers on Etsy got their inspiration, including the giant robot. Would make for a good alternate figure.

I really like these. Did the rules change much between Book of Peril and House of Blades?

No change reported, however other alliances have had random changes to weapons & equipment. They did get an improvement though, explicitly stating how many of each type of fighter is included.

This Ogryn can be group activated, unlike standard ogryns. Which also would be the only reason for the champion to carry the cult icon.

How many players actually use alliances in their games?

Free guys and free stuff is kinda OP.

Even for a meh guild like Water guild, the free guys come with built in Bounty hunter rule to pawn captured fighter for full credit.

Yes, all alliances are free, both in cost and weight on rating. But that would make the competition strong, not sure if water guild or slave guild are top tier alliance?

They're both average with Slaver being really bad for gangs that is good in Close combat (like Goliath, their strong alliance)

Also no one really like playing against Slaver alliance gang. all captured fighters are gone. That's a very good alliance for griefers.

The suit is full of water.... Put it together from there.... (Remember Luke and the Titty Milk?)

Take that where you want to...

Something like that....

He's a water being, in a suit of water, with bottles around him. Think about what's filling up that suit. o.O

It's pretty dark if you really think about it.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Seems Cawdor 'elites' are Redemptionists after all, with the option to make them a full gang. Seems like a good way to do it, really cool looking update as well.

Pretty cool. No nonsense upgrade of the original models without any weird proportions or cable ponytails.

Would also make great Acolytes. They should get 40k rules, too!
