Yeah, I'd like some skavvies since I'm doing an Ashe Wastes themed board.

Brats would be an interesting design proposition, do they make them like Baertrum or do they make them post-punk industrial whatever???

I'd like more Imperial House stuff. Ty and the others(since we already got Greim) could be easy FW releases along with the rest of the Guilds.

Got some "news" for you that's never been revealed before. I say "news" because this isn't something that's announced on warcom when they have something new and shiny to sell. Nobody even knows when this happened, so might not even be fresh. But it is news in the sense it's never been documented before and I don't think most people are aware.

House of Blades (Escher book) has been reprinted in a revised version. When? Sometime after official release 2020-08. What's different? For starters, it includes updates from the FAQ. So the boltgun got Am 6+, Wyld Bow got Damage 1 etc. Interestingly, the Power knife is correct here, unlike both the original version and the FAQ (which failed to add Backstab).

So far so good, nothing much to report about. The book is reprinted with the updates from the FAQ. But there are more! Somersault got an overhaul with respect to shooting Unwieldy ranged weapons. It now grants a similar ability to Stig-Shamblers "Move & Shoot". Can shoot Unwieldy as Basic with -1 hit modifier if performing Somersault in the same activation. The original wording made no sense in regards to Unwieldy weapons.

Who knows what else has changed? Who knows if other books are reprinted in revised versions? Who knows if House of Blades or any other book has multiple different revised versions each?

So here are the facts:
- At least one book has been reprinted in at least one revised version (there are rumors of other books also reprinted in revised versions).
- Can include some or all FAQ updates.
- Can include 'corrected' FAQ updates (updates that the FAQ failed in attempted to fix).
- Can include other fixes/changes never before published.

House of Blades v1 (2020-08), notice Damage '-' for Wyld bow:

House of Blades revised, notice Damage 1 for Wyld bow:

Also, Somersault reworded in revised version:

Contacted GW customer service and asked how many printed versions they had of House of Blades. They said only one. I linked to images documenting the contrary, in which case they said they only currently sell the newest version for the current edition. Didn't get much more than that. Either they don't know or act as if they don't.

We've documented a case in this very thread of a GW CS troll claiming the Gang Stronghold is out of print a day before it was restocked.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

In the past GW customer service were right on site - these days I get the feeling it might be farmed out or that the staff are kept separate from the rest of the factory. So a LOT of the time they rarely know more than what is published on the public communication sites.

If it says X on the webstore then customer service only know X even if its going to change state the very next day. They either don't know or are unable to ask/answer.

I have noticed though that the Forgeworld customer service tend to be a bit more informed and I think you are actually talking to FW staff in that. The downside is that FW's status itself is always in a crazy state of flux so sometimes things change outside of their control.

I did feel sorry for whoever person I chatted with, just doing the average nine-to-five job, bothered by silly questions about rules for a niche game. On the other hand this is a company that's not exactly open and clear about the products they sell to their customers.

You never know GW might not actually know its been updated; could be one of those cases where two versions were sent to the printer, a former and an updated and the printer just printed the first the first time. Then when they came to reprint they chose the "newer" file and just didn't tell GW. It wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened in production, esp where the changes are subtle and easily missed (esp if you're not looking for them to change between printings)

Hanlon's Razor and all that, but "Maybe GW doesn't even know!!!" might be the biggest stretch that's ever been stretched, Overread.

I mean do you honestly think what you just said could be even remotely true?

C'mon, man. There's apologetics and then there's your last post.

I mean if GW knew it was updated with new stats/corrections I'd be surprised that they'd not talk about it. A super easy way to net a few extra sales from people who want an "up to date copy" and such. Effortless for marketing to achieve with a single post when they came into stock.

So yeah I do wonder if something else happened. It's just musing on why there's the "stealth" update as there's no logical reason for GW to want to "hide" such an update from customers.

And yes I can easily imagine GW sending more than one copy of a work to the printers to be produced because chances are more than one copy is made during production; one copy might well have been sent and then printed in error without anyone spotting that a few lines of text and stats weren't correct. Then for whatever reason when the printers went to print it again they chose the second, newer email/message and version to use. Dafter things have happened. Or heck perhaps GW updated it and stealth released it and that's just that and they didn't feel like telling us; or the message got lost in various rounds of shipping delays, corona and the fact that perhaps they didn't want to be left with old-stock versions sitting on the shelf.

How does the publication info on the front page differ between the impressions? Does it just list reprint dates, or is there something more?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I've requested for people online to take photos, ideally one from the revision and one from the original, to compare publishing info like ISBN-number, dates etc. It may be possible all this info are identical though.

So I noticed another thing, the original HoB didn't include the "augmetic fist" weapon profile for the universal ogryn brute. Now this has been printed in almost every book the past years, so not something I'd need, but for someone who primarily only plays Escher and wants to add an ogryn to their gang, they would have to find the weapon profile somewhere else. In the revision this missing weapon profile is added, but renamed to "augmented fist"

This is of course a ridiculous minor error, something I normally never care about (the game got actual problems that matter). But it goes to show, even when the original is wrong, they FAQ it and that's wrong too, they fix some things in the stealth revision, but also mess up new stuff in the revision! Who knows what else they've messed up...

Is this a case. New printer asks for files to print and GW sends the wrong version (updated) of the files?

Please no. I see everyone predicting another edition for AT or Necromunda and I really hope they focus on new content for those games or completely new systems like BFG/Epic

Alright. One more round of hardback books for all the gangs and THEN a new edition immediately afterwards.

It could be a new edition in a new setting with new gangs, which wouldn’t invalidate anything, but might not be 99 44/100% compatible. (Insert your own Necromunda rules joke here.)

Can we replace inches with like triangles and hexagons and stuff? Cause that would be awesome.

Yes, but only a few. So measuring would be like: 1, triangle, 2, 3, pentagon, square, 6, hyperbolic curve, 12.

Oh, and each gang would use a different scale

Bonus points for making the triangle 2, the pentagon 4, and the square 5.

Topsy, the best people to ask are Andy Hoare or a member of his team. Andy is on Instagram, for example, at https://instagram.com/anandyhoare?utm_medium=copy_link
It makes total sense a customer service agent won't know this, but the head of the (small) SG/30k/tow team or one of his writers, of course they will.

I just checked my (relatively recently purchased) copy of House of Blades and it absolutely says on the inside cover that it's the 2nd Printing (with those amendments included Baxx). Good spot.
