Is that counting the Space Wolf +1 to hit bonus?

My bet is that Ragnar was slated for release last year, GW saw the xenos backlash and very quickly put out Makari and Gaz while delaying the module.

My guess that means Ghaz + 6 Meganobz vs Ragnar (w/wolves?) + 5 of whatever this new unit is and, I dunno some Aggressors w/conversion pack.

All for the low-low price of AUS$460.

I mean they literally have a special character called Canis Wolfborn already so I don't what else this name generator is going to add lol.

ummm...do NOT take GW up on that bet. I wouldnt doubt that there will be Wolf, Canis, Frost, Cold, yadda yadda yadda on both the first & last name part of it. It could always get worse!

gut feeling is a new Phobos units (assuming thats what he means by infiltrators) seems a bit off, given that this would necessitate yet another update book for the other marine factions. unless this is our first actual new subfaction unique primaris Unit. if anyone is the first to experiment with their own primaris stuff it'd be the space wolves

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I'm fine with the Woofs getting their own Primaris. It'll happen eventually with the others (especially GKs), so why not kick it off now?

True. But that's still one Ragnar stomped firmly into the ground, with Thrakka walking away.

I'd be very surprised (in a positive way) if there was a box set with meganobz inside - usually ork sets contain killa kans, trukks, deff dreads, warbikers and nobz, with an odd battlewagon in the christmas force.
Pretty much everyone can use more MANz, and you can build the MA Big Mek from those sprues (and there is a KFF bit in there for conversions). Getting your money worth for the marine half of a set has never been a problem whatsoever. Worst case you sit on them till the box goes out of stock and then sell them.

It's pretty much as if the eldar set had shining spears and a ravager inside and banshees would have been good

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

And he probably costs around half the points and can clear screens far better. Let's save the mathammer on how OP or not Ragnar is until we know his cost please.

On the topic of unique Primaris units for Space Wolves - I wouldn't count on it. GW have stated a few times on their voxcast show that they don't want units tied to a specific sub faction anymore (outside of special characters of course).

I'd be very surprised if whatever Wolves get is a unit unique to them. Pretty bull if Orks get 2 (1.5) characters and wolves get a character and a new unit. I can see it.

There is nothing more redundant than a Space Wolf name generator. I could do one right here in a few sentences;

Pick up to four of the below -

[Vaguely Nordic sounding name] - if selected, pick this first.
['Cold' synonym]
['Fur' synonym]
[Choose a body part from the list provided! Heart, Eye, Hand, Arm, Teeth, Tongue]
[Choose a colour!]
['Made' synonym]

Give it a go! I got 'Arne Ice Tongue'.

Intercessor SGTs can take power swords, power fists, or chainswords, LTs and Captains both have power sword options (with Powerfists on two captain variants), Incursors have paired combat knives (exploding 6s), Chaplains have a Crosarius and Librarians have Force Swords, Aggressors have Powerfists and Reivers have a combat knife.

And that's not counting the generic fist every model has, or the fact that every Primaris gets as many attacks as their old Marine equiv plus a chainsword without losing out on shooting.

Not as many as Old Marines, but there are a reasonable number of melee options.

My point was more that the unit would be a Primaris Bloodclaw unit, likely taken from what would be one of the Phobos armour units in other chapters if it was Space Wolves related.

Forgetting Ragnar has stupid easy access to rerolling wounds.

Sorry but it's stupid that he has 10 attacks the first round of combat. This is beyond the supposed combat monsters of each faction.

if Space Wolves would stay true to their rules (so that they deserve their own book)

we should have Primaris Recruits armed with Pistol & CC weapons, Primaris with Bolter & CC Weapon (counting as armed with Pistols for melee) and Primaris Veterans with different Heavy Weapons to choose from

Primaris would need to adept the Space Wolves way and not Wolves to the nuMarine stuff

Honestly they need to give them a supplement and add/restrict things in the supplements instead of relying on seperate codexes for Marines. That way they only need to update the supplements on a much rarer level, but they can inject new things into the Marine line whenever they update the core.

Just keep Grey Knights as their own thing and we're golden.

I fully agree with you. However I don't see GW doing any such thing any time soon.

Maybe its the Internet, maybe not. But I meant units, not characters which clearly have some options. I did forget about the Aggressors though. I discounted everything with a combat knife as even Rhino's have a strong arm and combat knife (go ahead take that literally also and tell me I'm wrong again). Also you forgot that Intercessor Sergeants can have Thunder Hammers. Well not SW ones, but other chapters.

As for Ragnar, even with updated stats he will only be a maybe take if he fits the mission somehow. Killing chaff in melee isn't the problem with SW. He still walks, and with Primaris keyword has less options for something to ride. If you are taking the transport anyway, or want a backfield melee guy, he looks pretty good. All that said, a Ragnar that cannot drop pod assault is a sad Ragnar.

You never specified that you meant only units since you left it at "nuMarines".

And I did forget about the Thunder hammer. Probably because I rate the Power Fist higher due to the points gap so I never consider it.

Ragnar plus 5 guys in an Impulsor seems okay, but you're right, Primaris do melee more defensively than offensively but on the flipside that's generally how Space Wolves fought for the longest time too.
