Sure, but it's certainly not literally impossible to kill him before T4. Taking between 4-8 wounds per turn shouldn't be very difficult for a good deal of armies. Even pure gunline could probably plonk him down some in overwatch or a targeted smite/other random source of MWs in like the charge or movement phase.
The ability hits skew armies (let's call them) harder but Ghaz shouldn't be a threat until T2-3 anyways assuming you didn't tellyporta him in. If he was tellyportad in then zoning him out should be highly doable

Seeing the amount of damage certain ork units can do, and how quickly those units are usually targeted, Ghaz provides a distraction for those, ignore him and he’ll wreak havoc, make him the focus and the lootas and mek guns etc are going to have free reign.

Possible, but definitely not easy. Even with around 280pts worth of stuff (I'd say hard even with double).

Smite him, shoot him, then charge him. He’s slow and has a massive base. You’ll find opportunities to do this. Or soften him up then do it in 2 of those phases.
The Goff painboy is easily sniped so you can prevent him from healing up.

I guess you're going to have to screen and FLY away with your units before blasting him off the board? He shouldn't be too hard to run away from, with a 7" MAX move that degrades and no ability to advance and charge.
Kite him, like you're supposed to?
Edit - this crying (from both "sides") is really pathetic. Wait until we see more. We don't even have Ghaz's points cost for feths sake.

Painboys dont work on ghaz, he is a monster.
I'm not saying every army can do this. This is 40k. Orks don't get snipers, which invalidates a lot of character I'd love to remove from the board. But a lot of armies can do this. Matchups aren't always perfect.
The stratagem Medisquig does, though. For 1 CP you heal a nearby <CLAN> character with your <CLAN> painboy.
Currently, it's the only way he can regain wounds.

Yeah, too bad that necrons don't have anything that can deal mortal wounds in the movement phase. But I guess that would be just as insane as being able to shoot multiple units during the assault phase.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

This lack of synergy isn't surprising from GW. The geniuses that give you a character that buffs repentia movement but gives them a small aura so they can't keep up to maintain the buff.

Well it does n't have any SPACE WULFs riding WULFS with WULF swords and WULF necklaces but it does have Ragnar and Primaris of the Space Wolves Chapter so yeah....for me thats much better.
Other than Ghaz and his little helper - the Orks look....poor...

Hang on, thats nowhere near a blanced matchup. One 10 man Incursors and Ragnar are probably about the same points as Ghaz on his own.
Maybe I'm just old but I remember when you could buy a box set and have a decent 1v1 fight.

Per the Vanguard Marines book that came with Shadowspear, it seems the Vanguard stuff is still pretty new to the Wolves so it would make sense that the armor is fairly clean. They're not Veterans yet.
Otoh, infiltrators make with slight conversion nice Alpha legionaires.
Why, because they have backpacks with antennae?
